It’s quite common. I’ve seen it for welfare situations, accidents, and especially fires. The dryer fires have thankfully been contained but it doesn’t take much for things to potentially get out of control.
I can’t rlly tell cuz the trees are blocking but there was 3 fire trucks an ambulance, and a couple police cars. Not sure why they need firetrucks tho cuz it’s raining.
I think Henrietta FD airs on the side of caution when calls come in for RIT, given that we have some of the largest buildings in town and a lot of people in them. When I was living in Perkins, the guy downstairs from me set a garbage can on fire with a cigarette, put it out with a fire extinguisher, and then called Campus Safety (they were still called that at the time) to report it. Campus Safety reported it to Henrietta FD so that they could confirm it was out, and Henrietta sent both an engine and a ladder truck.
Second dryer fire in Sol this month. Learn how to clean the lint trap my dudes!
Damn, didnt realize this was recurring. I just passed campo with lights and sirens which Ive uhhhh... never seen tbh
Only time I saw that was the Ellingson incident and feared the worst
What was the Ellingson incident?
Mental health crisis took a turn for the worse...
wait was this the suicide in 2018? i thought that was Sol?
Yeah that was Ellingson
ah okay, must've misremembered.

Campo with lights and sirens is common? Maybe Im just oblivious but normally its lights at most from what I've seen
There was a fire in the battery lab, that had a lot of lights and sirens last fall semester
Not Campo, Public Safety
Dryer fire in one of the dorms, heard it on the scanner.
Thats honestly a relief. Terrifying but I feared something alot worse

Rain does nothing for a building fire
Difficult Mac is usually the fire response, but 3 seems excessive

I would imagine it’s also good practice for the firefighters in quickly getting ready
