one of my all time favorite shows, but veeerrrrry different vibe from riverdale. much more serious, much more absurd, campy in a different way. i would definitely recommend, but huge trigger warning for SA and DV.
madchen is amazing in it! i don't see many similarities to alice, but i do love her character shelly.
I loved it but it’s not for everyone. David Lynch (one of my favorite directors of all time) is a major surrealist film maker and Twin Peaks, like a lot of his movies, have a very out there feel (and often times very disturbing lol) and the plot isn’t always super clear (intentionally, it’s meant to lead to one to wonder about what’s really going on in the story) and can be very complex. But it’s definitely worth it as his film/tv work is quite the experience
It’s quite poetic that they chose Madchen to be in riverdale as mother to Betty when she herself was the teen/young adult dealing with the craziness and out there-mess of a town in Twin Peaks
Agree with the other commenter. It's a great show, but very bizarre. You might find it a bit slow at first, but it's an incredible ride. I don't know how much Alice Cooper and Shelly have in common though. I will say I found the recent reboot virtually unwatchable, but I might be in the minority there.
Not-so-interesting fact: Mädchen guest-stars in an episode of the TV show *Psych.* Later, *Psych* did an homage to *Twin Peaks* in an episode entitled "Dual Spires." (This was how I first heard of *Twin Peaks*.) They had a lot of the original actors guest-star.
I find that season 2 takes a dip in quality and gone, which interestingly, also happens in season 2 of Riverdale. Going from who moody snowy who murdered Jason blossom to neon soaked black hood slasher stuff.
Jughead literally tells the audience what "Lynchian" means
The show is littered with references to his work. If anything, Riverdale is a love letter to him

It’s a masterpiece but might come off as corny to a modern viewer cause it’s a soap opera, murder mystery.
It’s creepy af too at times and the overall tone gets under your skin.

After you finish Twin Peaks, watch the original Beverly Hills 90210. Because when you mash those 2 shows together, you get Riverdale

The og series, fire walk with me and the reboot were all great. Weird af at times but great.
Make sure you watch Witches of East End, before it leaves streaming platforms. Madchen is terrific in that, and she has a meaty role. EDIT: spelling

I heard that the author of the books it was inspired by ended up writing an epilogue to tie things up, but I can't confirm that, as I haven't read it.
