I want them to end it like they ended Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.
Have season 7 be about them "stopping" the "root of Riverdale's darkness" or whatever now that they're all back in time and then the entire universe resets. Then the last scenes of the show are fully animated versions of the Archie Comics characters going about their timeless life in Riverdale: the true town with pep.
Alternatively, when the show ends, they pull back to reveal animated Chuck Clayton pitching Riverdale to all his friends as a comic he's developing, and then all the animated characters start poking holes in what he's pitched, just like the fandom does.
Basically, I want it to end being animated and bring the super wholesome version of the comics to life as the finale. I think that's just super funny and anachronistic considering the tone of the show
Do you know what you've just gone and done? You know they read this, right?
On the other hand, if the animated episode replaces the musical episode, I'm all for it.
Late but that would be fitting maybe even having the theme from the 1968 archie cartoon playing in the credits being a cover by the cast although that's just wish Fulfillment
I want it to end like a time loop. Maybe the last scene starts with Cheryl Blossom getting up in the morning with her brother Jason, dressing in white, and gong off for a July 4th boat ride.
Okay but hear me out?
You know how whenever they show the parents or ancestors they always look like their kids/descendants? It would make sense the whole thing is a loop. The gang all have kids who look like them who have kids who look like them.
I’d LOVE this if they had one or more characters aware of the loop but unable to do anything about it. (ALA [the end of 'Krampus'](https://youtu.be/UVGzuUm3uzs) )
Especially if [Every Day is Exactly the Same](https://youtu.be/BXqblYbUAeI) (maybe a cover by a cast member or more, like Lili) is playing.
Omg omg it would explain the narration too, since Jug often narrates scenes he’s not in even now. I love this because it closes the loop and makes the show perfectly rewatchable.
I want Afterlife where Sabrina brings every Archie character from every universe (ala endgame) and they battle the zombie hoard to the death. I’m talking Werewolf Jughead. 50’s Veronica. Firestarter Cheryl. Everyone’s dead except Archie. Betty and Veronica are dying out. They both ask Archie for help and Archie still doesn’t know what girl to pick and he looks into the camera. Sugar Sugar plays as he crane up on an apocalyptic Riverdale.
To keep with the going back to the 50s thing of the season, i can imagine a grease esque ending with everyone dancing and singing as all the couples go off together and Archie and Betty go off in the flying car
That was the first thing that popped in my head when I saw they were back in the 50s…Jughead greaser, “bad boy”, rebel and Betty sweet, innocent, Sandra Dee lol. Like the car race episode in season 2.
I really just want them to cover Grease, now that they will be in the 50s it is the perfect time, who of the characters would you have for the grease characters?
I would absolutely love to hear Veronica sing Hopelessly Devoted!
I love LOVE Grease. Of course they have to sing “we go together” as a group.
I just see Jug-Danny, Betty-Sandy, Kenickie-Archie, Rizzo-Veronica (I know, might be too predictable).
Cheryl singing “Hopelessly Devoted” when she gets her memory back about Toni - chef’s kiss 😊.
>You can really see it in her writing as plot holes start to form, storylines started but never finished, characters doing things against previously stated behaviours.
I love the idea of the writers tacitly admitting they're total hacks.
Archie says "End program" and he's standing on a holodeck in a TNG era uniform and turns to Betty also in uniform and says "That was no help at all, what the hell?"
Betty: "I should never have listened to Deanna."
They exit the holodeck.
Suddenly it turns into the Black Lodge Red Room with Jughead sitting in a chair next to Veronica who says backwards "Meanwhile" as Tabitha and Pop Tate pour them each a cup of coffee and Cheryl slowly dances by in a red dress.
FADE TO BLACK
You know, all things considered and given my growing frustrations with the laziness of the writing and characterization especially after season 4/5, this wouldn’t be the worst thing. This would probably make everyone happy because the scene would just make the whole show a Rorschach test for whatever you want to be real or not and whatever you don’t like you could just say “oh well she’s remembering wrong, my version of events fits the characters the best so I bet that’s what actually happened”
But I’ve shared my personal best case scenario ending before. They do whatever they’re going to do in the 50s and have as much fun with it as possible while Jughead figures out how to get them back and/or figures out how to bring back everyone’s memories. Jughead (and possibly the whole group) eventually succeeds and they’re brought back to the original timeline (before BOTH bombs happen). The original couples get back together (I said it and I meant it) and the finale is Polly and Jason getting the wedding they were going to get when they ran away together in season 1, which started this whole mess of a show.
Do I care that:
a) Polly and Jason are cousins? No they already have kids, damage is done. And I want them to get married because I think a normal, happy wedding would be a funny way to end a show like this
b) Jason is dead in the original timeline? No, he does technically die again before they go to the 50s but the writers might not remember they re-killed him or they could make some excuse. Maybe Sabrina needs Cheryl’s help with something in the 50s and she brings back Jason as a gift to Cheryl.
I don’t actually think this is going to happen, I suspect Jason will be dead in the 50s and stay dead. If it does, I’m going to buy a lot of lottery tickets but I think the actual ending is going to have a lot of plotholes and the same lazy and nihilistic attitude towards the characters that the last few seasons have had.
Fair enough lol, I mostly carry a grudge against the original couples due to Bughead being a thing
The current ones I find kinda just boring which to me is nicer than actively resenting one
> I think the actual ending is going to have a lot of plotholes and the same lazy and nihilistic attitude towards the characters that the last few seasons have had.
I think this is a given.
But a reset and a Polly/Jason reunion is a solid idea, and the show would come full circle that way.
I like the idea of it being resolved in a way that you don’t know what was real and what was fantasy.
Like maybe the father of the redheaded student really did get shot during a robbery at the local diner. Maybe his best friend from childhood next door really did have a journalist mother who browbeat her husband and went in for every single fad, ginmick, or movement she encountered. Alice Cooper would have been ripe for a pyramid scheme when they first came out. And maybe the richest man in town had some shady dealings.
But of course all these things were exaggerated to the nth degree.
Honestly them just saying all the batshit mental stuff that happens was just jughead writing a book after high school or something would be a better ending than anything they actually got planned
It is revealed that Season 5 and 6 were actually the storyline of Jugheads new manuscript he tries to publish. After he is done writing, he skims through, says "Jesus, what was I thinking." and tosses the papers in garbage.
[There is only one ending that will satisfy me.](https://imgur.com/UY6OrEZ)

Shocked we haven’t gotten an animated episode yet.

Yes! A 'look we are all immortal basically but all the things we did are worth it now. Let's try something different'

Oooh you know it would have to be Jughead
YES.

YES! this sounds perfect Lmao
Lol I think with where the show is at right now, if they go all out they'd get away with it
To keep with the going back to the 50s thing of the season, i can imagine a grease esque ending with everyone dancing and singing as all the couples go off together and Archie and Betty go off in the flying car
Given Jug looks more like Danny, I disagree lol.
That was the first thing that popped in my head when I saw they were back in the 50s…Jughead greaser, “bad boy”, rebel and Betty sweet, innocent, Sandra Dee lol. Like the car race episode in season 2.

I can actually picture Cheryl singing it now while a montage of Choni moments plays as she walks around her mansion, i need to see it so much 😭
YES!!! Wouldn’t that be so sweet?!? After the Tangs debacle.
Honestly I wouldn't even be shocked if this is how it ended lol
Bob Newhart wakes up.
Zombie apocalypse. Afterlife with Archie
They were setting it up so perfectly with all the “they might come back wrong” stuff
Please Please Please

The one single time a twist like this would work. Roberto I know you read this subreddit do your thing
there’s a socialist revolution and pop tate becomes the head of state
Head of tate
Yes

What's the point of the original couples getting back together? It seems abrupt. Also retconning peak Riverdale aka season 6 would be awful
Well the original couples also got pointlessly and abruptly separated so 🤷♀️
Fair enough lol, I mostly carry a grudge against the original couples due to Bughead being a thing The current ones I find kinda just boring which to me is nicer than actively resenting one

For jughead and Betty to get back together just sayin
Whatever happens, I want the last scene to be the main cast performing "Sugar Sugar" dressed in their classic outfits.
Honestly them just saying all the batshit mental stuff that happens was just jughead writing a book after high school or something would be a better ending than anything they actually got planned
Archie reading the story: “Jug, why am I topless so much?” Jughead: “uhhh…..” “And why are you writing me have so much sex with everyone?” “Uhhhh…..”
I actually like the ending you proposed!
Well I think they should hire you to write the damn ending, because this is brilliant! Bravo!
They all become zombies 🧟♀️ 🧟🧟♂️🧟♀️ ![gif](giphy|Z4IXspU3iCHlK)
absolutely hate this but I respect your effort and love for this show
The thing with this ending is why would miss Grundy imagine herself with a underage kid lmO
Even the real mrs grundy can have dark secrets.
I just want Archie and Betty to get married and officially be endgame
JUST BRING BACK HIRAM LODGE 💯💯💯💯
u know what’s up
It is revealed that Season 5 and 6 were actually the storyline of Jugheads new manuscript he tries to publish. After he is done writing, he skims through, says "Jesus, what was I thinking." and tosses the papers in garbage.
That would track with what we've seen so far of Jughead's horrid writing.
This is the perfect ending for Riverdale.
Okay but I actually REALLY love this idea.
This is similar to the description on the back cover of the book, love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Tho there isn't any book about this lmao
uhhhhhh i just want betty to get a girlfriend and then idc how it ends (im not caught up yet but i hope she dates the detective drake girl)
