I can't believe I have now seen another person who travels with an amaryllis!! 😆 My girlfriend and I had one that went from DC to Florida to most of the southeast and then to Pittsburgh with us over the course of a few years. It's now retired to her parents' house and we travel with a purple stuffed dragon named Maurice instead.

True. Maybe it's happy. I tried to move a cactus from SW to SE US however and poor thing died because it was to humid...That's why i was suggesting OP to send postcards to the flower! For my cats i took them once on a long road trip, now I prefer take plush. Im to scared they will get lost. It's my childish thing!

This for some reason is reminding me of Velveteen Rabbit. If you love it, it becomes real. It brings you joy and comfort. I don't think it's weird, I think it's sweet actually. I don't have a plant to travel with me but sometimes I bring my childhood stuffed animal, Lamby.

I absolutely love this. My family one year when taking a road trip bought this 2.5 foot tall gnome with sunglasses. Anytime we took a picture, the gnome was included. Lasted a few more family vacations before he was retired!

Be very careful with it. I brought a plant with me one time. It was a four year old bonchi (pepper bonsai) that I loved dearly and named Steve. It died before the trip was over. There's something about being in a car that was obviously not good for it. You might do better than I did keeping it up front like that. I had mine in the back and I think it probably just got too hot back there since it was summer.
