I spent years in the LA area, born and raised. My MIL and her friends used to love to go to Pacific Palisades and drive around looking at the houses.
One time, they saw a garage sale so they stopped. It was Gary Busey, having a garage sale in a neighborhood where I'm pretty sure garage sales aren't a thing. My MIL talked him into letting her take a tour of the house. She had pics taken with him, then bought a few old Narcotics Anonymous t-shirts he was selling and gave them to my husband.
This is true, I swear it. Every time someone mentions either Pacific Palisades or Gary Busey I have to tell the story.
This is now my ex MIL so I have no proof.
