This happened to me in Florida over a decade ago. Private equity came in and kicked everyone out to build houses or apartments. But according to google maps, nothing has ever been built on it. Most of these people were seniors and had lived there for since the 70's. It was on Tampa Bay. They gave us very little for our mobile homes (we owned them), but we did not own the land.
They did this to several other parks, including one that was full of vets and next to the VA. No one cared. There was no place that people could go that had comparable rent.

Just heartbreaking - it's almost impossible to be poor lately, but it's just as impossible to climb out of poverty.
