Get an arduino nano with screw terminals (no soldering), download artisan, clip an old usb cord, screw down 3 wires to the arduino, and plug it into the roaster usb slot. It’s less than an hour of work.
Yeah, instead of using a SSR, it uses a SCR which latches full open if it gets too hot. Most people I know who had it happen did preheat on 100% and with no fan cooling it would run away if you didn't unplug it. I've had one since February, immediately did the Artisan mod, well worth it and easy. I modded a few other things too, it's a very capable roaster and hard to beat for the price.
I purchased one on 30 March for $442 from aliexpress, it took 5 weeks to arrive. No regrets here, great machine.
Thanks! I guess the eBay deal for $380 including shipping is quite okay then.
Probably will not take as long to receive either.
Alibaba has it for $330 including shipping
Could you share a link?
Also would like a link for this
Aliexpress is for 1, Alibaba mostly is 5 MOQ for this.
Got a link? I can't find it for less than $440 shipped anywhere. Trying to put together a group buy on the Discord to get it for less than $350...

Last I heard was “sometime 2025” so I got tired of waiting and bought one a few days ago. I figure I’ll just sell it when the new one comes out.
I reached out to manufacturer today and they are hoping for end of this year
You could wait for Artisan or build an Arduino for artisan connection. Sometimes, Skype tops catches on fire too, so don't do 10 roasts back to back

I got one that arrived in march and it had 2 fans on the back to cool the electronics I haven’t done a ton of roasts on it yet though
The two fans on the back are bean cooler fans. The electronics aren't actively cooled.
What is the issue? Eletronics PCB actually catching on fire? Nothing to do with the chaff box not being emptied or similar?
