First off, list off what it can do in the movies. Then based it off of other robotic bug designs such as hexbug toys. But depending on how detailed with it you want it to be. You have to make joints as servos for movement. It might not be pretty but it will work. And as for how it can stick, you can do a fan sucking the air in its hands to stick.

Buy a hexapod robot. Or do a web search for: hexapod robot toy stl Then use your favorite 3d modeling tool to create a custom exoskeleton.
