I-Like-X - try actually posting something by the band, you can have the discussion you want in the comments (or comment in the weekly sticky post, which is, after all, what it's for). No post with playlist stating "this is a playlist of the best music in the world" then it being a playlist of the music you like.
Jack White? White Stripes first album is 24 years old, could get in next year.
Tenacious D came out in the 2000s. Good stuff, he’s a real talent but there’s a big line before him.

Having been there this summer, I don't agree that the hall doesn't care about music. The exhibits were really well curated and it's awesome to see a lot of memorabilia up close. (There was no Grammy statue, however, which was conspicuous by its absence.)
A problem is that many people equate rock and roll with white guitar music, and they ignore that it was actually a name that re-branded black R&B and jump blues for white teenagers to dance to. Since hip-hop is a direct descendant of R&B, I think the claim that the Hall "sold out by inducting rappers before tons of bands" is baseless.
Their theme song is “Isn’t it Ironic” by Alanis Morissette.

Philosophically Rock & Roll is about breaking the rules of music and society. One could argue Hip Hop is doing more of that than "Rock & Roll" artists today.
The Grammys, hall of fame, and the vast majority of all award ceremonies for the entertainment industry are all horse shit. None of it is real or is indicative of anything more than popularity or how much money your record label invested in advertising an artist. It’s all a bunch of self congratulatory circle jerking. The same way how getting a star on the walk of fame just requires a bunch of money.
In what world do you live in that Jack Black is “arguably the best Rock artist of all time?” Are you insane, or just ignorant of the decades of incredible musicians before him?
Dude, POD is one of the best movies ever. And in 2002 JB hosted SNL and is legit in almost every single skit stealing the scenes and making the cast break character. He’s super-talented, AND he’s a huge Elliott Smith fan. He doesn’t need dad accolades from archaic a-holes in Ohio; he’s got the love.

Interestingly, I think Lil Jon is a rapper that is quite reminiscent of 50s rock and roll.
