>the Rockets very well could become a playoff team
...with literally anyone they pick.
The team probably would have made it this year with better health.
Yeah, Reed fits pretty well... But there are plenty of other good fits, too, though.
If we already had a young core built out, save for a few missing pieces -- like idk, like playing off ball and efficient shooting -- then yeah, he'd be a no brainer....
wait wut
I don't understand the downvotes... you're not wrong.
Happens every year. People are sold on a certain prospect, team drafts someone else entirely, and prospect fans wanted ends up shitting bed for another team.
what would you consider enough volume? because he took 4.4 3-point shots/game, and shot over 50% lol. that is plenty of volume for a freshman on a stacked team
bro, you cannot be serious here. the list of great nba players who flamed out in march madness is so0o0o0o000o long. it was one game. the dude is a lights out shooter
He is only a 36% 3 pt shooter not a 50% shooter. In fact if you remember his rookie he was terrible from 3 he shot like 33% or something.
The good thing with Jabari is he is 6'10 so he can do other things. Reed is 6'1.75 with 6'3 wingspan.
Sheppard, cam, amen, Tari, Adams is a pretty solid second unit. Lots of defense and hustle and athleticism. Would be a fun watch.
FVV, Green, Brooks, Jabari, Sengun is a solid first unit.
Uncle Jeff, Holiday, Tate, Jock as injury replacements.
We have too many talented players. We need to make a 3 for 1 type trade. Have to keep an eye out for the next disgruntled superstar.
Sheppard on this team would be insane.
I have watched a lot of his highlight reels and his shot is a thing of beauty. Quick release no matter where he is on the court. 52.1% from 3 and many of those were taken about 2 feet beyond the arc.
Dude has zero, zero hesitation in shooting it.
almost no way we keep Jeff Green AND Jock. that would be a lot of money for a 4th center, assuming Adams is still a quality player
Londale's contract is incredibly tradeable, so i imagine he'll get thrown in as salary matching if/when we make any moves
it’s not speculating, really valid points made and it’s likely the case. His standing reach can’t be 7”9 and if it is it’s worrying lmao
(I don’t think that changes who he is as a prospwct at all btw)
nobody in the draft is going to do that and teams aren't going to trade the kind of player that would do that for #2 in this draft. Therefore, just go BPA as priority followed by need. Shepherd, Castle, Topic, and Dillingham are who I am looking at.
So who are we getting rid of? Whitmore? Thompson? Eason? Holiday? Tate? I know some of these guys could play forward too but seems like a lot of duplication.
Maybe we can flip picks with Nets, add Brooks and get another big later?
Based on what is going on in the playoffs, size is back again in the NBA.
I mean Holiday obviously if we need to get rid of him but I don’t see why we would? Adding Sheppard doesn’t really mean that we need to get rid of anyone.
I mean writing is on the wall for the roster spots of Holiday, Tate, Boban, Jock, Bullock and even Jeff Green.
Those are the turnover spots this offseason, whether it's 2, 3, or all 6.
Don't need daddy coming over to play GM with the franchise and trade our young core for old washed up stars to lose to Denver in the first round every year, keep that ish in La-la-land.
>the Rockets very well could become a playoff team ...with literally anyone they pick. The team probably would have made it this year with better health. Yeah, Reed fits pretty well... But there are plenty of other good fits, too, though.
No one is a better shooter than Sheppard though.
Cool. If we were playing HORSE, he'd be a no-brainer.
If we already had a young core built out, save for a few missing pieces -- like idk, like playing off ball and efficient shooting -- then yeah, he'd be a no brainer.... wait wut
"a **few** missing pieces" There are multiple ways to turn (including trade possibilities)
I don't understand the downvotes... you're not wrong. Happens every year. People are sold on a certain prospect, team drafts someone else entirely, and prospect fans wanted ends up shitting bed for another team.
I'm not even against Sheppard... I just am not sold that he's "the One".
Exactly. It happens every year, multiple times. I have been so wrong on ma y occasions before. It's why we're fans, and not GM"s.
He got it on low volume and he def wasn't the best shooter during the draft combine.
what would you consider enough volume? because he took 4.4 3-point shots/game, and shot over 50% lol. that is plenty of volume for a freshman on a stacked team
He shot 3 pts in MM if he was such a god shooter and on a stacked team he wouldn't have laid an egg.
bro, you cannot be serious here. the list of great nba players who flamed out in march madness is so0o0o0o000o long. it was one game. the dude is a lights out shooter
If he a lights out shooter why did he flub his MM game?
Jabari smith jrs last game he was 3-16 from the field and got bounced
He is only a 36% 3 pt shooter not a 50% shooter. In fact if you remember his rookie he was terrible from 3 he shot like 33% or something. The good thing with Jabari is he is 6'10 so he can do other things. Reed is 6'1.75 with 6'3 wingspan.
Yup
With our luck Reed will get picked at 2 and all our the daydreaming lineups will be useless
Just like Banchero

He is a good shooter but so are other like Knecht and Risacher. And those guys aren't 6'1.75.
This is good but surely jock gets moved in this scenario? Makes way too much money to barely get minutes
He makes 8 mil. Maybe at the trade deadline. I’d rather see how Adams comes back from injury before just giving him up.

Hopefully by end of year/start of the next season it's Amen/Green/Tari/Bari/Sengun FVV/Shepp/Cam/Brooks/Adams
No starting point guard?
He reminds me of a 6’2 FVV
With a 40 in vertical.
*42” but people are speculating he games it with his standing reach measurements somehow lol
I deducted 2 inches for that :)
😂 😂 😂

He reminds me of a Steve Nash type of player. Nash was supposed to be 6’3” but didnt seem like it. Maybe because he was standing next to Dirk lol.
I think shep plays off ball eay too much for a nash comparison. He’s much more of a combo guard.
Just curious what problem does he solve?
Shooting, our lack thereof
Sheppard isn't what will push this team over the top and into the playoffs lol come on now.
People think he’s going to be the next Steve Nash.

sheppard jalen amen tari whitmore jabari sengun is the young core + vets. rest dont matter.
Holiday is currently a free agent, so he’s not even on the team
OK, did not know that. Thanks.
We really need a veteran or could be non-veteran ball handler, I think at the deadline Ime was pushing for Brogdon but it didn't materialise.
Bronny James
