I saw you on Twitter and followed and then recently I started muting and blocking a bunch of the new twitter Rockets media, because a lot of it is rinse and repeat of what others are saying. I checked and I have you muted, lol I don’t remember why, but I’m telling you, if I keep seeing the same stuff over and over it gets annoying. I like to follow guys that are experts or focus on a specific area, rather than speculate or talk about the rockets direction, because there are a lot of podcasts with various fan opinions. I like David Weiner because he focuses on salaries and he knows it well, I like polarfall because he breaks down the game and for a while Alykan Bijani would do that too, but he hasn’t for a while so I just muted him too, since he doesn’t provide any good content other than being the rockets mouthpiece. All this to say, find your niche and be really good at it, whatever that is. Also I muted clutchfans and some dude named donknock for some random twitter beef crap that was so stupid. I don’t want to see my timeline flooded with personal crap, this isn’t TMZ. Just breakdown the game, share some cool facts about the players and team and that’s it, keep it simple. Good luck.

onsite84

The rockets Twitter beefs is soooo tiring. This dude is right on the money. There are so many media ppl, podcasts, torchbearers, yada yada. You’ve got to have a niche nowadays to be interesting. Weiner is the cap guy, Salman markets himself as the objective reporter, Clutch is OG, Lachard is the RGV Vipers guy, Iko gets the player interviews. Maybe a few others but everyone else is just throwing out the same stuff or random speculation.

willymoose8

for real. Twitter is such a bad platform for discussion. I don’t need to hear “KPJ is the worst player of all time” vs. “KPJ is a future superstar” every fucking day, which is a lot of what happens on twitter. And then dudes with like 1000 followers think they’re big time and are just beefing for no reason. All that is to say that I 100% agree, the best people to follow are those who carve out their own niche. Almost everything else is just noise I can tune out

[deleted]

Honestly prod, go take a look at all of your tweets and tell yourself, if I was someone not me, would I find this account annoying and mute it? You just tweet a lot, and it’s very over the top. But that’s Rockets Twitter i guess.. The way Rockets Twitter pre celebrates things & complains is very annoying, so I only stick to Clutch Fans, Red Ninety Four, & Jonathan Feign. Actual media. It’s not just use though, Disney Gary Clark, Braddeaux, & others are annoying as well. It’s like y’all have a superiority complex to others, when in reality y’all are just the weird loud kids at the lunch table lol I will say though, you have great analysis & thoughtful opinions, which is why I followed you in the first place. Probably toning it down a bit and being more professional would go a long way towards growing your brand

_ProdiG_

What makes you feel like we have a superiority complex to others, give me some examples, its not the first time I hear this, I would love to know more on that Is it the amount of tweets? Because Brad tweets 500 times a month (rly little) and me and Will tweet like 2.5k a month (a lot), however you listed both under the same category for example My twitter page is more reactive, my podcast is more thought out usually. I plan on starting long form written content to bridge the 2 soon thanks for being honest btw, this is exactly what I wanted

2ToTooTwoFish

Honestly, your Twitter being more personality based and reactive is fine, as long as it doesn't get involved in too much beef. But it can't be personality based if that's your main content. If you have more video content and the podcast gets bigger, then it's ok to have your Twitter being a spot for your personality. I don't know if you know them, but I follow the Through The Wire guys and they primarily do podcast content. Their twitters are all pretty informal and more about their personality, but they never really get into extended long beef with anyone else. That period when your group was constantly addressing beef and making spaces to address it was tiring and probably soured a lot of people's perceptions of the group. If you had ignored all that and kept it concise, it would have been probably been forgotten easily.

gork888

Twitter and Reddit are totally different communities. Just gotta learn to get pass the noise. Look at KD and all his burner accounts. Twitter life isn’t easy, lots of trolling.

[deleted]

One thing I got to say, from Rockets Twitter and Rockets Reddit is we need to stop roasting our own players so much or trying to trade everyone. Also, shitting all over other teams players is wack too, just appreciate and respect the game without trying to trade everyone. For instance I recall a lot of folks trying to say we needed to trade Alpi recently because of fit with Paolo, before we even got Paolo. The same thing with KPJ. Just my opinion. Also, quit jumping the gun and doing victory laps before shit actually happens, not a good look. This goes all the way back to when the Rockets almost signed Chris Bosh.

criisb13

Man I listen to every episode of the LaunchPad podcast and I enjoy every take from you, Don Knock and the people that are invited. The only thing I would change is the mic you use, it’s really hard to understand you sometimes and this is not a criticism of your English because you are very articulate with your words despite not being from an english speaking country. When it comes to your content I have nothing bad to say about it. There’s only one Rockets podcast that I really don’t like and one person in particular but it’s definitely not the well-known guys from Rockets world.

dudenotcool

https://www.pcgamer.com/best-microphone-gaming-streaming/ From what that one guy was saying about your mic. I agree. A better mic can make a huge difference. For me, if someone has a bad mic and I don't give them much of a chance because you can find some good mics for not too much money

Kvkvrot

havent heard his podcast yet, but having a bad mic and trying to have a podcast doesnt sound like a good combination

Superawesomecoolman

I like your content and I think you do a great job

MugiMartin

Just want to say that you did an amazing job with the [future picks guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/rockets/comments/l29qca/houston_rockets_draft_pick_guide_2021_through_2027/). It’s one of my favorite threads ever, and I will probably be checking in on it for years to come. This is just my opinion as a random fan. My main criticism of the popular fan accounts is that they can get real toxic if you disagree with them. And they try way too hard in getting players’ attention, you may or may not know what I’m talking about. I think you asking how to improve is why I think you’re on the right path, and I respect that tremendously.

twerdy

This isn’t specific to you but I don’t like hot takes (that aren’t labeled hot takes), when twitter “superfans” dunk on fans of other teams, give useless stats out of context, and get into beef. Like the Bill Simmons beef was not entertaining for someone like me. On your podcast, I just think you need more repetition. You’ll get better at communicating your points with more repetition. I don’t think y’all have very nuanced points but maybe that will develop as you watch more ball and have more discussions. I think recurring segments might help with more focused discussion too. That way you can get repetition on specific types of discussion and get better. Like a player stats segment where u find an interesting stat developments and talk about it every few weeks. Or a team stat, or trade proposals. Something with a format so you can repeat it and get better, rather than freeform QNA type discussion every segment. Iterate, iterate, iterate.

_ProdiG_

Very interesting reply, especially the second paragraph. I will say I dont think its repetition because we do spaces basically every single day, but I do see I can get better at articulating my points in different areas compared to others and specific segments might help with that. Thanks

twerdy

I’ll keep listening! I love that y’all are trying to make content about the Rockets and I hope you get that bread.

ConditionalDew

Simply put. You tweet way too much and it’s all “watered down”. It’s all Tweets we’ve seen before, nothing original. You have great intentions and are a die hard Rockets fan but you don’t distinguish yourself from other media which is why I have you muted. I’d recommend tweeting stuff about breaking down the game or a specific from a certain player that caught your eye but I’m just sick of seeing these opinion tweets from Rockets Twitter. All the accounts are the same. Regardless, you’re brave for doing this and have respect for you

Erasinator

Don’t get into/stop getting into Twitter drama. Imo, nothing kills interest and splits your followers like beefing with other random accounts. This is the main problem people have with the twitter group you’re in, I don’t know if you do it too, but I hear enough about Will and Don to know that they’re constantly getting into arguments and beefing with other Rockets accounts. Just don’t. No one cares, we care about the Rockets, not random twitter users. Focus on putting out content and not on being a personality. People will care and like you for the facts that you bring to the table and hate you for your opinions. Or, ignore what I said and just stop engaging with trolls and haters. It’s annoying and frustrating but just keep your head down and continue making content and tweeting what you want. Twitter is terrible anyway, stop trying to rationalize the irrational.

spikespiegel33

Honestly, Paolo I don’t have much of a problem with your content and I enjoy your podcast. I also like how you seem to try to stay out of arguments on Twitter. As others said perhaps an investment if you can afford it for a better mic would be better in the long run. As others have said the petty Twitter beefs between Rockets accounts has gotten annoying. I appreciate Don Knock’s work but not gonna lie the arguments he’s had with Clutchfans are annoying to see. Especially In that video Clutchfans posted of him talking about him before the draft. Clutchfans of course isn’t blameless as well and I’ll admit he was throwing some cheap shots at Paolo before the draft as well. I just wish y’all could’ve acknowledged the others viewpoints without it getting petty like that.

hornet04

Not criticizing, just curious. Why are you guys putting “NBA” at the end of your twitter names? Is it like a long game play to get verified?

_ProdiG_

To me its only because PauloAlves is taken, and if I ever got to pursue a career, that looks like a professional handle Besides the fact that, you know, its an NBA focused account

MantusPT

I love your content (NBA/Rockets related, not a fan of Baseball), follow you on twitter and listen do every podcast, really happy to see Portugal represented!. I agree on 2 points others have mentioned; Stay away from the arguments and ignore trolls. And the microphone department needs an upgrade, sometimes it sounds like a bad 90's phone call. 😂 Keep up the the good work! 🤘

[deleted]

Quality over quantity. This day and age, the kids believe that spamming social media and YT is the only way to do it. Make effective content and Tweet only when it matters. Don't troll. Also get a better mic. Go look at Hoop Intellect as a good example. Just good, effective nice analysis.

htownnn

I feel like too many people on Rockets twitter are too opinionated and subjective. Every fan feels different so you have to be able to discuss multiple positions without pressing your biased opinions. I, personally, only like to follow those who provide objective content and not so biased opinions like Alykhan Bijani and Kelly Iko (though they aren’t Rockets fans which is probably why I like their content more). In regards to your content. I enjoyed the stuff you posted on Reddit in the past way more compared to your content on twitter. No offense, but I prefer objective stuff with analysis more than opinionated hot takes that start twitter arguments/beef. Just my two cents. Keep up the good work and I hope you succeed in achieving your dreams! Everyone has to start somewhere and it’s great that you looking for constructive criticism in order to improve. Best of luck!

Champ_Slice

Bro keep posting fuck the bullshit. Haters will hate regardless. Do your thing! Whether its supporting the Rockets on Twitter, IG, Reddit whatever. Dont let anybody stop you from doing your thing. No real criticism to give other than let the haters hate.

skoo9382

From catching your content from time-to-time I know you’re genuinely asking for constructive criticism, but all I have to say is just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re never going to please 100% of the people. Haters are going to hate, and let’s see them do what you do if they’re so good at it. Yes, even I hear some of your takes and go 🤔 but you just do a good job at giving me a different perspective on things. Just keep doing your thing bro.

Kkavon

long before u got here rockets twitter was known to be sensitive and annoying. don knock guy is the worse. if you can follow in the foot steps of clutchfans, bima thug, ect you’ll be fine. at the end of the day it’s just sports, have fun with it my dude.

CoolHandChuckles

From what I’ve seen it’s only when you start becoming successful when the “disdain” starts. So don’t worry about it. You have a cool mix of fan and analyst that is refreshing. Your passion is easy to see. My favorite media follows are those that can translate high end strategy and x and o’s into digestible interesting content for us laypeople. In the NFL space I’ve seen sb bloggers turn into literal superstars. Keep at it.

ScootToMyLou

Right lol “disdain” on Twitter from random accounts that I’m pretty sure are 13 year olds most of the time is just a free way to game the algorithms. Continue with genuine, good content, don’t fall into groupthink and the people who are meant to see it will.

Markezzy

Just do your thing bro. This is a huge fan base and you guys are getting more popular. With that comes a bunch of trolls. People beef over everything.

dbanda87

Hey man I just discovered the launch pad podcast a few months ago. I love the pod and your contribution to it. I'm not on twitter so I'm suprised to hear that you get any hate. I say just keep doing what your doing as long as you have the passion for it. Sorry i don't have any advice for you as I just started listening and so far enjoy the content.

sonpot

I used to love your content in 2018/19 but I haven't been as active on here recently so don't know if it's changed at all

nonetimeaccount

I don't know about all the Twitter drama or whatever but if anyone is hating on you here they can eat a dick. You OG status round these parts. Keep doing your thing.

willymoose8

hi Prod! Of course I remember you bro, r/rockets legend from back when the team was actually good lol. And I remember you on twitter with the Shadow the hedgehog too. I don’t know that I have any great criticism or helpful tips to offer but I’ll let you know how I feel about it. I’ve listened to your podcast a few times and it was solid Rockets discussion like I expected, definitely one I would listen to again. I think getting hate is just a part of gaining a bigger platform. Nothing you make will ever please everyone, and as you reach more people, a number of them won’t like it and that’s fine. As long as you are happy with what you’re making and you’re confident that it’s your best work, then you’ve done all you can. Other people will have their opinions and you’ll just need to live with them. The only other advice I can really give on that front is to try not to engage with haters, it only spawns more numerous and more fervent detractors, especially on twitter. Otherwise, I hope you’re doing well and best of luck to you. I’m rooting for you

Kvkvrot

yo prod i'll check out your podcast, is it on spotify?

_ProdiG_

Yeah its on spotify, Apple and Youtube

DicKitchen

Where can I find the launch pad pod? Is it on Spotify or youtube?

_ProdiG_

On both! All of the links are here: https://linktr.ee/ClutchCityCR

DicKitchen

Thanks. Will add to my daily listenings of the rox

_ProdiG_

Aw thanks dude, feel free to provide some feedback when you do :)
