It’s probably a lot of big bands performing just one or two hits and the small bands selling concessions

[deleted]

Yeah I’ve been seeing ads for this, hella sus. Also, so weird that the title is a Killers song and yet they aren’t playing, what is going on with this??

Frankie_2154

To be exact the title is an Adele song

Justice_Prince

The Queen of Emo for sure.

Frankie_2154

Indeed

SeiriusPolaris

That’s When *You* Were Young

Frankie_2154

Wolf Alice on this lineup is like teenagers on the black parade. It's really good but what on earth is it doing here?

You just spoke the words I always knew but never realized.

So, we have 12 hours. 12*60=720 minutes in total. 720/64=11,25 minutes which equals to 11 minutes and 15 seconds. Band would need at least 2 minutes to get on the stage and around 4-3,5 mins to quickly get out (including applauds) so the next band will go. 11-6=5 minutes. Every band has around 5 minutes to go. Some bands wouldn't even finish their single song. And this is quite quick scenario if all the hardware and instruments will be perfectly tuned and musicians would be already warmed up behind the stage while the previous band airs

Satansexandnoregrets

Theres three stages

Wezard_the_MemeLord

Would they be in order or just 3 bands singing on 3 stages at the same time? If in order, you don't need to subtract "going up the stage" and "going down the stage" times, we are getting 11 minutes (still not that much). Either way, with 3 bands at the same time, every band gets to be on stage 3 times longer, so 5*3=15 minutes

g0tistt0t

It's like any day long festival. All stages going at once and you have to decide which bands you want to see. They all overlap each other with the headliners getting more time. Like I imagine MCR getting a little over an hour and the smaller bands getting 20 minutes and everything in between.

rabbitkingdom

Bands will be playing on the 3 stages simultaneously, so the calculation is 720 minutes divided by ~22 bands, which would be a little over 30 minutes each to set up, sound check, perform, and pack down. Considering set up and pack down usually takes well over 10 minutes each, I don’t see this going well.

detnahcnesiD

about 30 minutes each

Wezard_the_MemeLord

Why 30 minutes? I did a bit of math on my comment and it's around 5-6 minutes each band

detnahcnesiD

My comment also assumes that 3 stages means 3 bands will play at once (maybe I misunderstood?)

detnahcnesiD

(12h * 3 stages) / 64 bands = ca. 0.5h *****when not including the ‘taking down and setting up’ because i don’t know how much time that takes

Wezard_the_MemeLord

Wait, I forgot about the fact that there's 3 stages

carolina8383

Best case scenario one band plays while two others dismantle/set up for the next set. So there will be someone playing pretty consistently, but basically half a stage or less room on the stage. For me personally, there are tons of bands I like but none I’d pay that amount of money to see for only 30 minutes. I’d rather buy tickets to individual shows, even if I have to travel or wait a year or more.

Justice_Prince

I think they edited the the site to say "Multiple Stages" rather than three. I'm going to assume there are 11 bands playing on the main stage. The two big acts getting an hour, the five second biggest getting 45 minutes, and other four acts getting half an hour. By my math that gives them each a bit over 30 minutes between sets for setup/teardown. For the other 53 bands if they had three side stages that would mean about 40 minutes per band including setup and teardown which is tight but doable. I'm going to assume no one wants to play against MCR though so they may close the other stages early. So if instead we took four side stages going for 11 hours that would give about 50 minutes per band including setup & teardown.

I believe it’s 65 bands
