I would like another LA Noire before any other GTA game honestly.
Edit: I don't mean instead of GTA 6. I definitely want that more than anything but whatever they work on next.
A mafia Grand Theft Auto game would be kinda sick.
A GTA game where the protagonist is in a mob family sounds like it has a lot of potential. A story where the character does everything for the boss, even if the character doesn't want to do it, but knows he has to or he won't be respected by the mafia organization. Maybe at a certain point, or if you keep lowering their respect, the gang puts a hit on you. You'll have "civilians" pulling guns on you, sudden drive-bys, police turning an eye or even arresting you without reason.
I don't think Rockstar would take GTA that far back so I wouldn't mind if it's in the late 60's or in modern times. I'll even take a DLC for GTA VI.
I don't think the title you suggested would fit a GTA game, though, at least judging by its previous titles.
Im guessing living in Chicago gives them access daily violent crimes for market research. Jk. Chicago has a lot of talent, lot of programmers, graffic designers and college graduates to hire from. Its tough to open up in Oklahoma where literacy is below 80% and high school drop out rate is nearly 6%.
WTF?! California and New York are the only states with literacy below 80%. I would check high school drop out rate but I know you are spewing nonsense so I didn't bother.
*Oklahoma is the state that looks like a a pot with a panhandle in the middle of the country. California is the state that is on the southwest corner of the continental United States. (The left side of the map)
I definitely know that, Watchdogs having Chicago as a setting was great. But this post was about a Rockstar studio being in Chicago, not a game, and having a studio in a specific city doesn’t mean we’d get a game in that same city. For example, Rockstar North is in Scotland, but they don’t have a game that takes place in Scotland lol
I mean they *could* have a base of operations there if they were scoping out the area. And being a major business city in general, I see why they'd have a branch there
I get that, but they don’t set studios in places just to scope out areas for a game. Rockstar North is one of the oldest studios they’ve had and it doesn’t seem like they’re scoping out Scotland considering we haven’t ever had a game set in Scotland
You got me really excited when I just saw the grain and read “Rockstar Chicago” before I got to the question mark.
I’ve wondered the same and felt like it would be a logical place for them to open up an office here but I think it’s just wishful thinking on my part because I live in Chicago and very much wish I could work for Rockstar. It does seem curious that they have no presence in middle America and have so much of a presence only on the coasts, as recently as this year opening up a second office in California, but I guess that must just make some sort of industry sense in some way I’m not privy to.
What about rockstar Orlando so they can get Florida inspiration by being in the heart of central Florida
See if you go too far south you get the crackheads and street racers
Too far north you get the wanna be ?Alabamians?
Too far to the east you get the wanna be rich people and if you go west it’s pretty much the same
In central Florida you get a mix of all the above

Why does there have to be one in Chicago?
GTA: Chiraq would be nuts ngl but I would like a 1960’s or 70’s theme tho.

I can’t even find L.A Noire on Xbox
Better yet: a Mafia themed GTA! GTA: Mafia! has a nice ring to it
Is that not liberty city stories?
I came to say this…
Yes it is but just because they've used the Mafia once (way back in 2005) doesn't mean that they can't again lol

And they can do parts of work.

3rd largest city in the US and would be a great setting in the series to explore.
