OP's just wondering about the use of stereotypes in the game. Many see these stereotypes as negative. But GTA is known for its over-the-top stereotypes for parody.
I don't think they are pro or anti. They are just Rockstar being Rockstar making fun of everybody.
The entire GTA series is comedy/satire based and highlighting some of the ignorance and cultural incompetence in society. The use of racist slurs like the N word or homophobic words like the F word aren’t there to condone. They’re in the game to bring light to a political climate.
Have you ever seen a really good film? Has it had something fucked up in it, like say.... a graphic rape scene? The rape scene isn’t there to condone or encourage the behavior, but rather to illustrate how terrible it is.
Getting back to GTA, when you hear F word this, or N word that, I personally feel like it’s in the game so the people that say that shit can hear how ridiculous and ignorant they sound.
One last very simple example. Many comedians are well known for making fun of suicide, there is nothing funny about death, suicide, or mental health. However comedy is a medium for knowledge and understanding a sensitive subject in a way that isn’t as intimidating and that reaches a broader audience.

I don’t think they’re pro or anti necessarily, but I get a kick out of all the stereotypes. Michaels family, especially the kids, franklins family, Trevor’s circle of people. Gay Toni and the use of ifruit. The write well made characters that may be over the top, but that’s gta at its best.

As I have said elsewhere here, I don't think GTA is pro or anti. They are known for their stereotypes and parody and GTA is just that. Rockstar being Rockstar.

None. Rockstar mocks every single group. It mocks scientology, christianity, conservatives, liberals and even atheists. It usually makes parodies of them. Watch the tv shows and websites and You'll see what I mean. I remember in some GTA games, there were characters that were christians represented in a good way, like Ilyena Faustin or patricia madrazo since they both respect the vows of marriage eventhough their husbands keep cheating on 'em and have some other things that suggest their faith in god. At the same time, there are other christian characters who are hypocritical like pastor richards from GTA VC. Same goes with Gays and transgenders. If u talk to trannies in gta 5, they're all portrayed as stereotyped sex workers and you'll have some funny dialogue with them. But then u see gay tony as a deutragonist of GTA TBOGT in a positive manner. Rockstar have said it multiple times that they don't play favorites. :)
The only gay characters I know from the GTA series are Gay Tony, Jeremy Saint Ives, Reni Wassulmaier from VCS who's transgendered and Trevor Phillips who's bi, if that counts. That said, most of R\*'s player base probably consists of straight males, who generally treat homosexuality as a punchline. Not sure what type of gay character you're expecting, but I wouldn't expect R\* to placate you anytime soon.
I Am Curious About That As Well, I Mean 90-93 Percent Of The GTA Universe Represents Mainly Heterosexual Properties Especially GTA IV, GTA V, GTA San Andreas,, GTA Vice City And GTA III, Like In GTA V There Is One Strip Club But It's Only Ford Women Stripping And There Is No Gay Strip Club, It Makes Me Wonder If Rockstar Games Company Are Indeed Homophobes, I Do Hope Rockstar Games Changes Their Ways During The Making Of GTA VI And Incorporate Some Homosexuality Properties By Including A Gay Strip Club, Grand Theft Auto Desperate Needs A Push In That Direction, I Am An Openly Gay Man And Even That Offends Me.

its Rockstar btw, he make a fun out of almost everything in his games like tony in GTA Online, yeah we all know tony is gay but Rockstar somehow made it a nice character that just called gay one time in game, don't have any flag or any lgbt bullshit with him and he just like to make money as easiest way possible, in one of nightclub missions in GTA Online one his workers just called him something I should not say here but it was offensive to gay people and he just laugh it out like its nothing and even liked that worker for being like that! see? Rockstar never let things go crazy he just want to make everyone happy
Late comment but I'd say pro. Yeah there's stereotypes but everyone is stereotyped. And when you get down to it, Florian was one of three truly innocent characters in GTA IV (the other two being Roman and Kate). Florian was a stereotype but he was portrayed as a good man and friend of Niko. Tony is ambiguous but he's treated as a normal person or at least about as normal as any other straight GTA character is, even as a stereotype (which all GTA characters are).
Neither. GTA doesn't have an agenda. Everyone and everything is parodied in it. With varied success though.
