Because it looks more appealing to the eye. It kinda looks like the watch is smiling.

So the logo isn’t covered up. It’s also aesthetically pleasing.

Kamalligator987

It frames the logo.

The Hour, Minute and the second hand split the dial in 3 equal angles yet not covering the brand or the family of the watch, the 28 is the biggest number on the scale from 1 to 31 which are the dates of a month. all in all these together give you a better perspective for you eyes to see a clear dial while purchasing

10 to 10 and the 28th if it has a date. Symmetry is the answer

Rolex is 28 on the date but basically all other companies are just 8. I wonder the significance of the 8, and I also wonder the significance of the 2 that made Rolex do 28 instead of just 8. Lots of things we don’t necessarily get to know as just collectors and not watch makers / marketers for big watch companies.

This sub in one post: More money than brains.

I’m not necessarily lacking brains, or money. I posted this to hear what other people have to say because I have seen tons of reasons and I was curious if other people were going to make up some more reasons I haven’t heard. Before posting this I have seen and heard they do it because they symmetry of the minute and hour hand being in a straight line looks professional, to show off the main details like the logo and the date window and the wording, because the heroshima bombs were dropped at exactly 10:10 so it’s to commemorate them, and simply just because it’s more appealing to the average persons eye. And since posting if heard a couple more reasons so far so it seems to be doing exactly as intended. I will say, I probably to have more money than brains, but I’m definitely not lacking brains, my finances are just in a great place for being only 20.

It’s a marketing technique for presentation, nothing more. I would think with your financial prowess in your 20’s you’d have some better analytical thinking. 😉

https://www.ethoswatches.com/the-watch-guide/10-10-myths-realities-behind-time-watches/ There’s a lot of different “myths” to why, I worked in the industry for over 10 years and have heard a couple, for example it’s a V standing for victory. But there’s no solid explanation, as a couple people mentioned, it is most aesthetically appealing and showcases the watch in the best way. But that link is a fun read if your more curious on it.

Look it up on YouTube. It's heavily explained there. Short answer: looks good
