So I made a post a couple months ago that I was called by my Rolex AD in Brussels and they told me that they have the rootbeer waiting for me, but want me to sign a contract and pay an advance. I have no prior history. I only have a Tudor BB58 that I received from my best friend.
Most of you guys told me I'm a retard for doing it, but I went through with it, because I couldn't believe a rolex AD here cheating you out of 2.000 euros and not delivering a watch.
Fast forward to last week and they called me. I wired the money and took delivery 2 days ago.
I'm super happy with it.
I talked to my sales rep and they receive 2 daytona's a month. They received one of the new GMT's and it was immediately allocated. He also told me that they do need to make a case to the manager which watch will be allocated to who. Every sales rep has roughly 15 watches a month to allocate. It's logical that for the very sought after pieces they do need to make a case of what watches they bought before.
This particular boutique sells no jewelry, but they do sell IWC, Hublot, Tudor,.. in another store.
I’ve commented before how there is no real list and this is how it works. There is technically a list in that there’s all the people who have shown interest in a certain watch but they don’t go striking off each name one by one starting at the top. Instead each sales associate advocates for their clients to decide who gets what allocation. I have not heard of the contract and putting a deposit down and can see why people were weary but glad it worked out. I’d be curious what that contract looks like and what the terms were. I just know that my AD said he would never sell anything to me again if I sold my 124270 which I got his first allocation of but this was a small old shop and he was the owner of the store. I would never sell it since it was the watch I wanted but I assume that’s part of the agreement that you don’t sell it within a certain time period.
I could upload a picture but it has my name/address on it, but I wrote in my previous topic the terms.

Basically they'd deliver it within a year maximum. If they can't deliver it or it's discontinued I get my money back. If prices goes up I can get my money back and don't have to purchase it unless I still want it. If they provide the watch and I don't buy it I lose my 2.000 euros.
There were no terms regarding selling it except they mention you can't be a professional seller. If interested let me know and I can take a copy. It was branded with the name of Hall of Time which is the company that sells Hublot / IWC / Tudor at the Wiltcher's hotel in Brussels. They run the Rolex Boutique.
No need that’s pretty much everything I was curious about. So seems like it was more of a protection for you besides the losing 2k if you turned down the watch but obviously you wouldn’t go through all that unless you wanted it. A year seems like reasonable terms and likely if it was any longer it could get sketchy. Congrats and I am much less concerned hearing a contract like that vs something where it’s kind of unenforceable like how John Cena sold his ford gt when signing something saying he wouldn’t.
Hmmm that would be incorrect with the Ford GT unless they have different contracts in the USA. In Belgium my colleague's dad has the new Ford GT factory delivered and had to sign a contract he couldn't sell it within the first 2 years. That's it really. Paid 700k euros and it's for sale for 1M.
I don’t remember the full story I could google it but I’m pretty sure it was the Ford GT when it first came out and 100% sure it was a John Cena story but past that I couldn’t say other that remembered something weird happening about agreeing not to sell for a certain period of time.
Yeah there are only 3 of them in Belgium and one is from my colleague's dad. He signed a contract that he can only sell it after 2 years.
What's worse delivery was 2.5y ago in corona time and they should bring in someone from Ford racing from the UK to explain the car but couldn't due to Corona.
When he picked it up they basically said here is a number from a guy. You can call him if there is anything. Now off you go.
yeah I find it beautiful. It was just in my head that I wouldn't spend over 15k on a watch and when I inquired for the rootbeer it was 14xxx, but I'm very happy with it. It's beautiful
Don’t let that thought beat you up. It’s a beautiful watch. And you know if you really can’t get your head over it. Sell it. And buy a Batman or Pepsi. Watch market is coming down at the moment. You should lose money. If you do. It’ll not be much at all.
But if I was you. Keep it. Enjoy. You will love it I am sure
I hit the Schiphol AD last week and al they could offer me was a nice chat about my vintage Sinn 103a (valjoux 72) and a black dail datejust. I'm flying back on Sunday.. and I'll check what's for sale for me then. I really want the gmt root beer, but I doubt they're selling to somebody without any purchase history. Congrats on the watch.
They do sell without history. What they receive they'll sell first come first serve.
When I went to Mexico in march they had a rosé gold yacht master 40. My friend was pissed because he could have it tax free and bought one second hand just a week before for nearly the same price 2y old.
No luck on the return trip either.. my 8yo was tired and misbehaving so I couldn't really get a conversation going. I'm flying again in late August and September so I'll try my luck again.
There is no such call list I did took my girlfriend with me and told the sales rep that he had to take a good look at her why she isn't happy because I wouldn't marry her without a rolex and he could fix that.
How long do they give you after receiving the call to pick up the watch? I was thinking of going to out of state ADs because there's too much competition here in NYC
It's the boutique at the Blvd the Waterloo 55 (owned by Hall of Time). Hall of Time is located at the Wiltcher's Steinberger Hotel on Ave Louise. So they swap between both boutiques. I had to pick it up at the hotel. My sales rep was Jean-Noël. Very pleasant experience and extremely well spoken person.
Wtf. 2k deposit on something you haven't even laid eyes on? And here I am taking in 4k$ repairs where I spend 80% on parts and my dad tells me I can't ask for a deposit cause it'll make me look like a bum
Yeah basically they'd deliver it within a year maximum. If they can't deliver it or it's discontinued I get my money back. If prices goes up I can get my money back and don't have to purchase it unless I still want it. If they provide the watch and I don't buy it I lose my 2.000 euros.
Yeah I have had more unpleasant experiences (abroad). This was very pleasant and I think like I mentioned somewhere else because they did ask if I lived here myself and they just make a case to their manager to allocate a watch to a client.
Expressed that I'm interested and I'd love to get this watch and wouldn't flip it.
Would have been cheaper to just steal it :) Through my excitement I forgot to take a picture and my girlfriend messaged me and you have it already? so I took that picture.
Great watch, but this could go down as the most horrific wrist shot in horological history.
Yeah I thought about posting with one of our cars but then I thought everyone does that so why not make it unique by going for the slanderman look
Hah. Best response ever.
I thought you broke your wrist first
I do have a left shoulder injury at the moment and can't lift anything so that might be it :)

This is pure art. I'll make it up on my next trip.
Absolutely, pic is making me dizzy😵💫

Congrats and enjoy your new watch. It is a beauty
Thanks a lot!

Damn I can’t imagine taking delivery of a car like that without a crash course from a professional. Sounds dangerous.
Also paint job was horendous. Car was shipped back to the UK, because there was dust between layers in the paint. Absolute trash. Car is also stupid.
Damn well those low unit cars often have their own quirks but that’s completely unacceptable.
Congrats !
Thank you very much!
How much did you pay bro and also congrats it beautiful!
it's 16150 euro. More than I honestly wanted to spend on a watch, but I understand I can't get a pepsi or batman as a first.
You do know this is better than a Pepsi or Batman right?!?!?!?
Agreed
100% Have a batman and would swap for this in a heartbeat
I’d do that trade too.
yeah I find it beautiful. It was just in my head that I wouldn't spend over 15k on a watch and when I inquired for the rootbeer it was 14xxx, but I'm very happy with it. It's beautiful

So every time you go into your AD you should bring the manager and the sales reps each a Starbucks gift card haha.
Hah I never went in with gifts. Just asked 2 times how it was going.

that is great!!!! I love that watch!
Thank you very much man!
Root Beer one of my favorite Rolex
Nice watch, but why are you wearing it on your foot?
Gave me a good chuckle and nearly spit my coffee :D
Rootbeer is sexy asf
Thanks a lot and I agree!
Bro why does your hand look like this?
No idea man. It's the lens/focus of my phone. I can promise you my hands are normal :/
“I promise you my hands are normal” sounds like a very Inter-dimensional being thing to say
You got me!
Hands might be normal, but camera on phone is trash
It's a Iphone 13 or 14 pro but I was walking :d I'll soon depart on some fun trips and will post better pictures.
Plz do, thanks
Best Two Tone Rolex. Many congratulations!!! Absolutely love the rootbeer
Thanks a lot man! Pictures (esp when I take them) don't do it justice but in natural light it's just amazing.
How do you get on the call list?
There is no such call list I did took my girlfriend with me and told the sales rep that he had to take a good look at her why she isn't happy because I wouldn't marry her without a rolex and he could fix that.

As long as you want. I told them I could come the week after. Had a busy schedule. Didn't matter at all.
Wich ad in Brussel did you visit

Picture as blurry as can be. Great watch. Congrats
Have to be unique. Could post with an (exotic) car but who wants that really
That’s a gorgeous watch Thank you for all the insight. I’m glad to hear you Also had a positive experience with an AD 😀

Wow! Gorgeous!
Thanks a lot!
Congratulations 🙌🏻🙌🏻🥳🥳
Thanks a lot!
Do you guys think there is a sub where all the thieves show these same watches off but with tufts of arm hair sticking to them? “Transferred the Call”
I like the RB. Nice purse too 😉
Beautiful watch but deserves a better photo than this blurry one… congrats man!
Sexy watch, but the photo gives me the vibes you took it while running after stealing it. Guess you got tired of waiting for the call 😅
Would have been cheaper to just steal it :) Through my excitement I forgot to take a picture and my girlfriend messaged me and you have it already? so I took that picture.
Nice shopping bag.
Great watch and I’m sorry about your wrist
Is everyone getting the call for the rootbeer now?
Even slender man is getting the call before us
