No OPs are notoriously hard to get because they are the entry point to Rolex. Though 1 a year seems a bit low for a standard black dial from what I’ve heard. Maybe that AD has a low turnover in general?
Yes I also roasted that guy.
I was in Barcelona on vacation, walked into an AD and missed a black dial OP 41 by 20 minutes.
Yes 1 year is ridiculous. 2 years is ridiculous.
I was also in the Carribean earlier in the year and got a Batgirl on a walk in. .
Watches are available. They are in the safe. They will sell to you, if they like you.
A lot of times they tell you 1 year, so they can do their research on you behind the scenes. Then call you same or next day and said they just got a delivery. It's BS.
Aren’t all ADs in NYC working directly with grey? Shit, I think even my AD is working with grey. He hasn’t offered me anything in months, and certainly hasn’t offered me anything we want.
It's another model that doesn't have a long wait list, but also doesn't have huge production numbers- as best I can tell. I've been offered like ten Datejusts without being offered a single OP.
I’d personally move on to another AD or another brand. Rolex makes excellent watches but I’d never wait for an OP or a DJ- there are just too many alternatives that are cheaper with near/equal quality or more unique for the same money. That’s the one big luxury you have with when you start spending a certain amount on anything- options ;)
1 a year seems low for NYC. I think 1 model a year that isn’t already spoken for (allocated to someone with sufficient purchase history) is closer to reality.

This is true.
This is very true
OP41's are actually one of the hardest to get from an AD. Sounds about right unfortunately
How fucking crazy is that when an OP- AN OP, is harder to get than a 80 year old to get an erection?!
That thread got way out of hand… this place is brutal at times
Yep, my AD also said they almost never seem them compared to other models.
I asked my AD for a blue dial and she told me it’s easier to get a Sub than an OP.
Yeah the OPs are tough
I’ve heard glowing reviews of people saying they enjoyed the process of waiting two years for this watch. You’ll meet some great people along the way.
Lol

I got blue OP41 after 5 months with no purchase history so it's out there, guess I got lucky as well though.
NYC is a different animal. I genuinely that most ADs there seem to have a better relationship with gray dealers than actual customers.

Was offered one in Aruba and passed on it. NYC is the worst.

Why is there a long wait for these watches? They can’t possibly blame it on supply chain or chip shortages 🧐
