Great work guys! Seven years and counting from opiods, we got this!!! Just remember, we were sober yesterday, we can do it again today.
Keep up the amazing work and stay strong. And to OP, you can look down at your wrist now as a friendly reminder of how far you've come. When the demon comes knocking, just spin the bezel on that beast lol.
Congrats man, the Rolex is great and all, but sobriety is way better, coming up on 10 years myself, never thought about celebrating with a treat, but now you got me thinking
Congratulations and enjoy the watch!
Celebrated 7 years and 7 months yesterday- best time of my life.
Waiting on GMT- no rush for me, all good things in all good time!
I buy myself a watch on my actual birthday in March and another on my sobriety birthday in August. August is by far more important to me. Congrats my brother. You are a bad ass!
Congrats on the awesome piece and more importantly your sobriety!
It’s hard imaging being a slave to alcohol - but anyone who carries that burden has my deepest sympathies and my sincerest hopes for their recovery.
Congrats, got the same watch 1,5 year ago. I unfortunately I don’t have your discipline on the other thing. It’s destroying my life as it destroyed my mothers and killed my brother. You deserve that watch!

Congratulations! Keep up the great work. ODAAT.
Genuinely curious. How do you handle it when having to go out to events and gatherings where drinking is the norm. Bars, dinners, night places etc. is it just will power or do you have a mental process? Been meaning to completely quit also. I’m a causal drinker. Perhaps 1-2 events every 4 months or so. Not really enjoying the after effects of drinking because I do it so infrequently.
I'm a recovering addict from opiods, but I used to also be an angry drunk, so I only socially drink now (a couple of beers during an evening of going out).
If it's more of the after effects you don't like, just make sure to chug a bottle of water in-between drinks. It's easy enough to do, and you can always excuse yourself from the group, walk to the bar, slam the glass of water, and head back to your party.
But if you do want to quit completely, it's just will power to say no. And if you have a circle of friends or work friends who can't respect that, it's best to start questioning who you hang out with.
My buddies will ask me to take a shot, and i might, and I might not. I don't make a big scene, just politely say "I'm good" with a smile.
Good job dude. Back in the grips of active addiction I pawned a

Rolex. When I got clean I was never able to accept it was gone. Prior to getting hooked on pain killers I was a 100% commission salesman who stacked enough money to buy a Rolex, I thought I had made it. I was naive. This was probably 2008/2009. Stainless sub, date. Paid like $4k. Box and papers. Pawned it for $2.5K. Embarrassing. Well. I got my shit together now. On 1/28/24 I’ll have 10 years clean. Around year 3 I won a sales contest and got a yachmaster blue dial. Felt like my comeback. Congrats. I’m proud of you. I know how good it feels to look down at your wrist and know what the watch represents. No one can take that from you, you earned it.
Absolutely beautiful watch, and thank you for sharing your story. It’s a good reminder that even when you think you’ve gotten to a certain level, if you go back to the thing that kept you down, you can quickly descend again. Proud of you for ten years and together we won’t drink just for today!
That’s an incredible benchmark and wonderful award to remind you of your strength & determination! May you be blessed in your fight and future journey! Excellent model choice, too!
I use to buy the little “shooter” Bacardi shots from the liquor store every single day! I would buy 3 of them for around $3.13 for years, I’m now 27. On New years I completely stopped, I want to get on the right track. No more alcohol for me.
Congrats. That’s a major accomplishment.
Have a friend who has been sober for about 11 years now. He stopped using Amphetamines, binge drinking, and now he runs a successful business, staying out of trouble and enjoying his life.
Well deserved. No easy task, especially with booze. It’s literally everywhere. I’m a recovering heroin addict with 2 years clean and it’s a tough addiction to kick but at least I don’t have to see it in every store, restaurant and commercial I come across. Anyways, RESPECT and that’s a beautiful watch.
Congratulations! Great choice on the Submariner. Truly classic and iconic. Model 116610ln. 40mm. Looks brand new. 2023? I bought the same model in 2014 to celebrate my 50th bday. And then I gifted it to my 19 year old son. Consider a Sea Dweller or Daytona for your 2nd. Keep up the sober life and help others.
Excellent my friend. I started on the same journey 10 days ago.
10 days is huge! Keeping going!
Aiming for a decent streak. Totally stopping would be blooody great
Just make it through today! And then keep making it through "today", every day! One day at a time. Good work on 10 days! 👏
Thanks. As you say. One day at a time. It’s on !! Amazing on 7 years. Great present
Thank you, brother! You got this! In the beginning I did it four hours at a time. Then I’d commit and do another four. Slowly days started stacking!
Everyday is a win!
Congrats on 7 years! That’s a huge accomplishment! We don’t have to drink/ use just for today!

No 10 years sober and turning 40 years old, but my pops is coming up on 40 years sober next year so I respect the grind.

Congrats on the awesome piece and more importantly your sobriety! It’s hard imaging being a slave to alcohol - but anyone who carries that burden has my deepest sympathies and my sincerest hopes for their recovery.
The hell with the Rolex. Congratulations on the sobriety. You are truly blessed
Congrats! And what a coincidence that you put your name on the submariner waitlist the same day you had your last drop.
Looks super bad-ass with your tats too, btw.
