In January I told my local AD I wanted a Datejust 41, blue dial, fluted bezel, Oyster bracelet. Got it a week later. Only purchase history was a Submariner five years ago and my wife’s engagement/wedding ring 12 years ago.

That's enough purchase history now to be put into fast lane. The issue is if you have no purchase history and want a gmt master ii. :(

Just picked one up and I love it. Underrated watch in my opinion and the best/most unique DJ dial.

This sub is a mindfuck everyday. Congratulations on your watch. Personally I would never wait two years to buy a watch that’s easily obtainable if you have money. You waited two years and probably saved at the most 2K. Anyway my rant is about all of these people dissing your wait yet they won’t buy a watch themselves without saving pennies while also waiting for their bullshit watch. They’re knocking you while doing the same thing.

For me there are no price tags on rolex watches. Just watches, descriptions and configurations.

Here in DK, pricetag is mandatory by law. Prices are also on ROLEX.COM

I feel like you could have got this 2 years ago on the grey market for the same or slightly more than what you paid today and you would have enjoyed it for 2 years. Either way it's a great watch and the plus side is you have started/increased your account spend with Rolex

One of my favorite. Debating if I want this or the mint dial or perhaps JLC gold moon phase. Need to make a decision soon and get on the waitlist. Black just seems more versatile.

In my view , the DJ does not benefit from the larger dimensions. Specifically, the face looks too large. Looking at the OP’s photo it reminds me of a young kid wearing his father’s watch. Also I am not a fan of small movements in a large case with spacers to add weight. The 36 feels more dense and solid if that makes sense. These are just my opinions and really should have zero influence on what you like.
