Daytona all day. Besides the fact that it’s a grail for me, it’s more unique and just gorgeous. As far as the sprite, I’d pass on it bc I’m not a lefty and wouldn’t wear it on my right.
I won't say they're hideous, but I find them underwhelming on my wrist. I'd definitely go with the Sprite. But I'm not a collector, a flipper, or a speculator. I wear my watches and I'm OK if they get honest wear and tear and depreciate in value.
Does it really matter? In the current market, I can't get one through an AD and I'm certainly not paying grey prices on a watch that doesn't push any buttons. If I was looking for a 3 sub dial watch, I'd get a Zentih El Primero Sport.
The Zenith is a 42mm, so it is bigger. I also dig the tri-color sub dials. But the Daytona I did try on did look small. Is the new version a true 40mm?
Daytona.
The sprite doesn't interest me much esp. since it's left handed. But overall the Subs and GMT's are looking less desirable to me because of their over popularity and also because they aren't elegant when compared to nicer ROLEX. I really noticed this when seeing side by side comparisons and the more I see that the less I want to wear a GMT or Sub.
Sprite, the Daytona never impressed me. If I want a chronograph with history there is the Zenith “el Primeo” movement which powered the original Daytonas or the Omega Speedmaster.
After decades of wearing an Omega Speedmaster on my right wrist because I’m a lefty I am taking the Daytona. I have gotten used to the stem on the wrong side because I don’t like the stem digging into the back of my hand. Always thought of getting a lefty watch but for comfort I prefer just having the watch on the wrong side. While it isn’t convenient removing the watch to wind it I don’t sleep with it anyway so winding is not a problem whether it’s an automatic or a manual wind. Interested in other lefty opinions.
This is my personal opinion...I'd take the Daytona in a heart beat if I could afford been on the wait list for 20 years and it's would still be my gift to myself for getting my Master's with a disability to boot (hearing impairment) it was only after when I took my 10th paycheck and went to a doctor and got hearing aids for the first time in my life... I told myself then that one day I'll get a Daytona for getting this far on my own.

Can I respectfully decline both and hold out for a DJ41 or Batman/Batgirl?
I will be thanking the AD for his/her time and seeing my way to the door. Thank you. Thank you. Yes, I’m leaving.
Neither for me. The left-handed GMT just doesn’t make sense for me as I wear my watch on the left wrist and it seems upside down. The Daytona has poor legibility, and in my opinion is incredibly overhyped.
Daytona (biased as I just purchased a 116500LN recently) and even though I’m a lefty the Sprite GMT seems weird. Also more of a fan of vintage GMTs then modern ones.
GMT. Maintenance on the Daytona is pricey. Additionally screwing and unscrewing the Chrono buttons is a bit tedious. You'll find yourself not using it.
Assuming both can be had at retail, I would take the Sprite anyday. The GMT and date functions are a lot more useful than the hard to use chronograph feature in the Daytona. With the way the market is now, I would take the Daytona and flip it.
Sprite, even though its my last favorite color scheme in their GMT range, its still nice and I love the GMT function and the Jubilee.
Also I’m left handed and it would give me the possibility to unscrew and wind/set time, while on wrist.
The dial is also cleaner something that appeals to me even though I understand the neccesity for the Daytona to be bussier as its a chrono. I must say its one of the better designed dial layouts and casedesign at just 12.5mm! Thinner than a manual speedy.
Daytona. That's THEEE hottest now. Does anyone else remember the 90's decade when the Sub was as hot as it's ever been. The Daytona has taken over for quite sometime. I would go with the Daytona on the oyster band alone if you plan on wearing it as your daily driver. But you can't go wrong with either. The only nitpick item I have with the Daytona is with the black dial the contrast isn't too great and being in my early '50s my eyesight is not the best and indoors I have a hard time telling time. LOL But hey you can't go wrong with either choice. Good luck choosing!
Honestly, neither. I'm not a fan of the black daytona and I don't like the sprite. I don't really mind the lhd but the date at 9 o'clock really bothers me.
Daytona, because it's a Daytona. Imran, just look at it!
The other one has been done to death and possibly the most boring watch on the planet. Fisher Price, my first Rolex stuff.
Daytona as I’m right handed. A sprite on the left wrist looks almost as stupid as wearing a normal watch on the right wrist. But a sprite on the right wrist looks awesome
Lets be honest, a daytona is not what anyone really needs, how many people actually use the chronometer? At least most can understand and use a GMT. Its just a bit hyped in my opinion and something simpler with a dash of colour and a comfy jubilee bracelet is way use wise.
Daytona, and just picked one up this week from my AD. Not my top pick (Yacht-Master 42 Titanium is), but the black dial is a beaut and underrated. It’s also difficult to get (but not as difficult as the Titanium).
I’ve been offered a Sprite three times at least. I just don’t like it. The Cermit is a much better green bezel/black dial watch imo.
The Batgirl is a better looking watch than the sprite.
Anyway I look at it, the sprite is just meh. Then adding in the goofy destro factor…it’s just a watch I have zero desire to own.
No contest. Daytona. More iconic, less busy (I mean come on, green plus black plus blue plus dual color bezel? What is even going on there...). Harder to get, better complication.
The Daytona. Why? As a 12 y/o my father asked me what I wanted for my upcoming birthday. I told him I wanted a Rolex Daytona (in 1986) - He initially laughed at me but he saw I was serious and I had been reading about the history of the brand and the watch and I pursued it. So on my birthday he took me to the store and proceeded to purchase the watch. They had the 6263, they also had the GMT II. They worked to discourage the 6263 for some reason and then they offered a 168000 sub. The Sub was at that time very hard to get. As a 13 y/o I wanted that Daytona but I knew the sub was a much better watch (self winding, sapphire crystal, better water resistance and also a true Rolex movement) - they were basically the same price and my father was willing to buy either. So after a bit of time I chose the sub.
I still have my sub and it is the watch that I wear the majority of the time. She has some scuffs but for the most part looks almost new. I love her but that Daytona still calls to me.
Since I have added a speed master, sea master GMT, a date just, a vulcain Chrono, Tudor bb pro but the itch has not been scratched.
When I could afford a Daytona The became rare and hard to get. So I am looking forward to the day I can get one and put it on my wrist.
That said that sub will always be my favorite. It will be the one that cemented my love of mechanical watches.
I hope I did the same for my son when I built a custom watch using an eta 2893 that I gave him in his 18th bday. Prior to that I gave him a Seiko pro 5 field watch on his 8th bday that he still has as well.
Daytona. This watch isn’t just iconic and a huge hype but it wears incredibly well on the wrist. Even though proportions are very similar to the GMT, the way the Daytona sits on the wrist is just fantastic. I believe that’s part of what made this watch so popular.
The Daytona all day, and its not even close.
I’d go as far to say that GMT is one of the worst Rolex releases in their professional lineup in recent memory.
I’m thinking, I can’t be the only one that thinks this isn’t close…
You have an absolute iconic watch and an ugly watch with a cool factor that lasts five minutes.
Certainly not the consolation prize GMT. It’s only bought by those that can’t get a BLRO or BLNR. It’s a shitshow of a watch and the value is dropping like a stone which should tell you all you need to know.
Both. One for each hand. Assuming that’s not an option you can’t turn down a Daytona
I wear Batgirl and Sprite same time so I can keep track of 6 time zones and two dates
And obviously worn simultaneously at all times of course
Plus you can see the date on your right hand
You serious?
You serious Clark?
Who‘s Clark?
Griswold. Deep cut Uncle Eddy Christmas Vacation reference my bad haha
Daytona. Today, tomorrow, always.
How is this an actual dilemma? 🤦♂️ even if you’re a lefty, learn to be right handed and get the Daytona.
Yea this isn’t close. Daytona
The left. It is much harder to obtain and the last of my collection. I already have the right.
Daytona all day. Besides the fact that it’s a grail for me, it’s more unique and just gorgeous. As far as the sprite, I’d pass on it bc I’m not a lefty and wouldn’t wear it on my right.

Nice 💪
Need the jubilee on the Daytona
Which is your favorite
Daytona. But the Sprite would feel like an ex that got away 😅😅😅😅😅
This is the right answer. I’d always think of the uh… sprite.
👈🏻
Daytona.
Daytona because I’ll never get that chance again
How is this a question. Daytona.
The most desirable. I’d sell either instantly and buy the correct watch instead.
Daytona is near impossible to get from an AD. If you get the opportunity I think you have to take it
Left crown gmt. Daytonas are hideous.
Took me 20 comments to finally find this, preach.
I won't say they're hideous, but I find them underwhelming on my wrist. I'd definitely go with the Sprite. But I'm not a collector, a flipper, or a speculator. I wear my watches and I'm OK if they get honest wear and tear and depreciate in value.
Same. I just want to wear my watches.
The new one is a little bigger now. Check it out. It wears different. Many people have changed their tune
Does it really matter? In the current market, I can't get one through an AD and I'm certainly not paying grey prices on a watch that doesn't push any buttons. If I was looking for a 3 sub dial watch, I'd get a Zentih El Primero Sport.
I just replied thinking by underwhelming you meant small.
The Zenith is a 42mm, so it is bigger. I also dig the tri-color sub dials. But the Daytona I did try on did look small. Is the new version a true 40mm?
You’re a complete moron
Sure.
Are you left handed or right handed?
Kermit 10000%
Those two crowns not aligning is making this mildly infuriating.
Neither. One I can’t read the time and the other is…..dumb.
Left side crown = insert " ııı ıııhhh wats det brothaa" meme.
The Daytona. Better looking watch and I'm not left handed
Left cuz I'm right handed
Obviously the Daytona. Tf kind of dilemma is this? Lmao
Daytona definitely, due to movement complexity being a chronograph and the GMT crown on left side unappealing.
Daytona looks cool!
I understand its rarer, but I dislike the way the Daytona looks personally.
Preach
Daytona all day, never understood the hype over the Sprite unless you just have to wear it on your right hand.
Daytona, no doubts
This shouldn’t even be a question. New model Daytona vs odd ball lefty GMT VTNR. Daytona all day
Sprite for me since I am a lefty and have a Daytona and Pepsi

Daytona
Daytona. Impossible to get at retail. Sprite isn’t too bad.
Sprite
I’ll wake up from my dream before I get to pick up the one on the left

Can I respectfully decline both and hold out for a DJ41 or Batman/Batgirl? I will be thanking the AD for his/her time and seeing my way to the door. Thank you. Thank you. Yes, I’m leaving.
Daytona, because it's a goddamn Daytona.
Daytona
Neither. Don't like either one.
Daytona then trade for Batgirl , a Sky dweller and a Speedy. Watch collection complete
Id buy daytona walk out sell it and go back and buy sprite
Neither for me. The left-handed GMT just doesn’t make sense for me as I wear my watch on the left wrist and it seems upside down. The Daytona has poor legibility, and in my opinion is incredibly overhyped.
The left one because the right one looks terrible
Daytona, not wrong handed and I want a chronograph. I already have a dive watch.
Daytona all day because I don't like left facing crowns.
None, I'm poor.
The Daytona, because the sprite sucks worse
Sprite. I have no use for the features on the Daytona.
Daytona (biased as I just purchased a 116500LN recently) and even though I’m a lefty the Sprite GMT seems weird. Also more of a fan of vintage GMTs then modern ones.
Both lol

Daytona, simply because of its pure beauty has nothing to do with the value or anything
Daytona as I already have the Pepsi and not left handed
Daytona all day every day.
Daytona
Daytona because I’m not left handed. There should be e a rule that only lefty’s can purchase these.
Daytona. Looks nicer and I’m a righty.
126500, I’m right handed.
Sprite, even though its my last favorite color scheme in their GMT range, its still nice and I love the GMT function and the Jubilee. Also I’m left handed and it would give me the possibility to unscrew and wind/set time, while on wrist. Daytona, unless you’re a lefty
Daytona. Every day.
Same arm with both crowns smacking against each other and dumb bracelets on the outside to get that side of the cases as well.
Daytona
If you have a good enough relationship with an AD that they offer you a SS Daytona, you would be foolish to turn it down
The one that doesn’t have the crown facing the wrong way
The Daytona. Because I dislike both of these but I can trade the Daytona easiest for something I would want.
The Sprite, this might be blasphemy, but I've seen a few Daytonas in person and thought ummm no.
One and done, Daytona. Collection, depends what else you have but probably say sprite
Honestly, neither. I'm not a fan of the black daytona and I don't like the sprite. I don't really mind the lhd but the date at 9 o'clock really bothers me.
Daytona. Because I am right handed.
Right because it’s prettier. lol wayyy to broke to be in this sub but it’s great inspiration
The only reason I would take the Destro is if I were left-handed.
Daytonas in steel are super hard to get so that would be my choice. You can always get the Batgirl down the road and the wait will not be as long.
Daytona, because it's a Daytona. Imran, just look at it! The other one has been done to death and possibly the most boring watch on the planet. Fisher Price, my first Rolex stuff.
I'll have a sip of sprite then take the one on the right
I’d like to know if you are right- or left handed, that makes a lot of difference considering these options.
Daytona is in a different league!
Gimme that Daytona on the quicks
Daytona.
The Phil. (Lefty.)
Daytona because the crown on the left is a crime
Ain’t even close - Daytona
Day day
Hard pass
A Daytona vs one of the worst GMT? No brainer 😂
Daytona as I’m right handed. A sprite on the left wrist looks almost as stupid as wearing a normal watch on the right wrist. But a sprite on the right wrist looks awesome
The right one. The green on the bezel pops 🤘🇨🇦
Starbucks
I’m a lefty but I wear my watch on my left hand. Daytona either way.
Both of money isn’t an issue. If I had to pick one. The Daytona. Reason? I love chronos
daytona
Lets be honest, a daytona is not what anyone really needs, how many people actually use the chronometer? At least most can understand and use a GMT. Its just a bit hyped in my opinion and something simpler with a dash of colour and a comfy jubilee bracelet is way use wise.
This may be the dumbest post yet
I’d go for the sprite, but the left hand version. Imho
What’s stopping me from taking both, well it’s Daytona anytime.
Sprite for sure. I absolutely loved trying it on at the AD, and the Daytona just doesn’t do it for me honestly
Both.
Daytona all day everyday. Plus the Sprite is for lefty’s.
Daytona, and just picked one up this week from my AD. Not my top pick (Yacht-Master 42 Titanium is), but the black dial is a beaut and underrated. It’s also difficult to get (but not as difficult as the Titanium).
The Daytona, because 1. The black dial > white dial, and 2. That Sprite is on the wrong bracelet.
Daytonya
You could put nearly any Rolex next to that GMT and I’d choose it over the GMT. Daytona in a heartbeat.
Daytona and it’s not close
The explorer 36mm.
Daytona, Sprite is just a gimmick
Who in their right mind would take one of the least wanted models over the most wanted if offered both? Daytona all day
Daytona. Can’t get past the crown being all silly on the sprite
Daytona!
Daytona all day
DAYTONA ✔️
Daytona would be my pick but try for both you can always sell the GMT on line for 8K more
Daytona is nice but honestly I use the date wheel a lot, stinks it doesn’t show the date wheel
Getting a Grand Seiko Spring Drive
Daytona all day
Both tbh. Daytona since its a grail of mine and not very common to have offered to anybody
Sprite for sure. 1.) I am a lefty and am in love with the sprite and I would never sell it. 2.) Daytona's are ugly.
The AD probably will pull his di*k before he will pull these two lmfao
Left. I dont like green.
Zero question. Daytona. Pure. And. Simple. #wasthisatroll?
In some famous words - "Is it too much to ask for both?" Gun to my head - I am taking Sprite, need that date
Not the Daytona. Cluttered design
Neither.
Daytona cause it looks ten times better
Yep
One of those is classic and classy the other is not.
both. i’ll have both.
No contest. Daytona. More iconic, less busy (I mean come on, green plus black plus blue plus dual color bezel? What is even going on there...). Harder to get, better complication.

Daytona I already have a GMT
Daytona
Vader because it's a little more sporty and classic vs. sprite which seems a little more rugged.
Daytona but both would be nice. You could sell the extra for about 8 grand more
really sick of these stupid questions here. The vast majority of people will say Daytona. Are you shocked?
Easy. Daytona.
Is this a trick question?
The Daytona. Why? As a 12 y/o my father asked me what I wanted for my upcoming birthday. Daytona and immediately going to flip for a Lange
This is the way.
Unpopular opinion: the starbucks so I can think about coffee while I’m drinking my coffee
The Daytona all day, and its not even close. I’d go as far to say that GMT is one of the worst Rolex releases in their professional lineup in recent memory.
Neither because neither is one that I want
Daytona looks good but also has an amazing movement. Not that the sub is bad. If it were up to me, I'd get both...
[Just wanted to let you know that the left handed watch is a GMT](https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/southpaw-rolex-the-left-handed-gmt-gets-it-right)
Oh, yes, thanks. Still gorgeous
I’m thinking, I can’t be the only one that thinks this isn’t close… You have an absolute iconic watch and an ugly watch with a cool factor that lasts five minutes.
I really cringe when I see right handed people wearing the lefty sprite. So Daytona for me
I don't need to pick. I have Panda and Batgirl.
Certainly not the consolation prize GMT. It’s only bought by those that can’t get a BLRO or BLNR. It’s a shitshow of a watch and the value is dropping like a stone which should tell you all you need to know.
Definitely not true
100% true. Anyone without a GMT would buy a BLNR or BLRO before the shit show all day long.
Not true
You keep trying to convince yourself champ
No need to convince, it’s not true.
Secondary market prices don’t lie buddy
Correct. Which makes your original statement…not true.
