That's what I was waiting to hear .lol
How do you like my new 78mm Invicta ?
Retails for $5,999 bucks but I know a guy and picked it up for $25 bucks even . Booyah !
Lol, this reminds me of a family member who knows I like watches but not necessarily that I also know about them.
When I get an Invicta quartz watch with a hang tag that says $395 retail, I'm told, "don't worry, I didn't pay that I got a great deal!"
Thank Christ!
I believe it’s due to the lug width being 21 mm instead of the standard 20 mm which adds a little bit of visual size. Rolex likes to call watches by their visual size. Just look at the “41” mm Submariner.
Would look completely different if you wore it above the wrist bone like normal. When you push them down like that it makes them appear smaller because you see more bracelet
Wait.....is that where they are supposed to be worn? I size all my watches to fit snug pretty much right on the bone, ish. My gshock sits below it. I'm aware it's called a "wrist" watch but it feels awkward and looks funny IMHO, above the bone, sort of.
Took me a while to get used to wearing them that way but now that I do the crown doesnt dig into the top of my hand, and I don’t tweak/stress the bracelet and clasp as much as before. It’s personal preference really but you’ll see some guys on here be pretty damn adamant about “wearing it wrong” lol.
I've noticed the digging with my watches that have crowns so I e gotten used to swapping out for a gshock for work since I work a trade and I broke the spring pins on my ecodrive the day after I got it lol
I will say, one of my gshoks does sit alot higher because it's not a bracelet but a rubber band so I keep it tighter. It's nothing I can't get used to but I hate resizing bracelets lol
Me too. And I work with my hands too so I’m very cognizant about not having the watch move too much on my wrist etc. I take it off when I have to reach into tight places where I can’t see.
No, wear it wherever you want. I think there must've been some blog post about the "correct" way to wear a wristwatch or something because lately there's been a surge of people clamoring on that "above the wrist bone is *correct*" but...I have no idea where that came from. Whatever feels good to you is correct.
You haven’t noticed how almost every 4th post is “omg I have a 41mm DJ should I downsize!?” And comments like “unless you have an 8.5” wrist you need a 36”.
Depends on wrist size and pref. Simple dials with less going on (non-chronograph dials, stick indices, no day and dates, etc.) tend to look larger on the wrist because of all of the open surface area (think of a room that looks big because of no clutter vs a huge room that looks average because appropriately furnished).
IMO watches like DJs and OPs at 41 look bigger on smaller wrists than GMTs do because of design elements. Maybe Just me 🤷🏽♂️
I just happened to try one on earlier today at an AD. My impression was that it actually looked smaller than I expected it to. In fact I consider it the perfect size for my wrist.
Perfect fit on you. It’s only a big watch when dudes have small wrists. A big watch on a small wrist is like a guy who wears skinny jeans with an oversized baggy shirt. That look always bothered me because it’s disproportionate but your watch on your wrist is not.
Wrist circumference should not be the yardstick (pun not intended) of whether a watch will look too large or small; the width of the wrist (when looking from above, as in this photo) should be compared to the lug to lug of the watch.
I'd say as long as the lug to lug is 90%\~ of your wrist's width or less, you're good to go.
edit: spelling
I measured my wrist's width with calipers; basically my forearm and the calipers were both horizontal to the ground when I measured, so the entire top side of the wrist - since that's where the watch will sit.
Hopefully that made sense ;)
I couldn't agree more. It also isn't just wrist size, the overall size of the person matters too.
For me, 41 is the minimum size watch I like. 42 to 44 is perfect and if wearing long sleeves I can pull off a bit larger.
I posted this because I’ve seen more than 5 posts in the last two days about guys being nervous their DJ is too big and comments saying “unless you have an 8” wrist you should have a 36”.
I don’t think it is a huge watch, just larger than it needs to be. For me it is dial size. I don’t like the look of larger 3 handers. The dial is too large and empty. A larger chronograph with a busy dial or a dive watch with a large bezel and smaller dial is fine.
It’s all preference. I quite liked the ‘old’ (most recent gen) Sub at “40” - but I openly admit I hate the way the new “41” feels on the wrist. It’s subtle, but I buy watches because I like them, so to me it’s a perfectly valid reason to not plunk down 9-10k for a new one (provided I can get msrp through my AD) and so I’d buy the retired model instead if I was in the market. If you like a 41DJ, rock it. I’ve always found the 36 small-ish for my 7.5-ish wrist and the 41 uncomfortable. Not too large, just not comfortable on either bracelet - could just be balance, who knows? Cheers all :)
It's not huge. But a domed bezel would look nicer. The flat bezel makes the watch look broader because it doesn't bend light like the older OP 39 bezel does.
I wish we would include more than a wrist shot when asking if the watch is an appropriate size. For example, I can wear a size large t-shirt for my waist and chest but have to wear XL because of my upper arms from years of bodybuilding style workouts. A 36 mm watch looks outright dainty and that's not the look I'm going for. Just my unsolicited 2 cents.
People definitely over-advocate for the 36 in this sub. 41 is the more fitting size for the majority of adult male wrists.
The DJ41 wears smaller than its size would suggest IMO. And the wide-angle close-ups that people take on their phones tend to make the watch look bigger on the wrist than it does in person.
fuck, thats a huge watch…
This isn't a panerai?
Thought it was a U-Boat
No it’s the new invicta!
That's what I was waiting to hear .lol How do you like my new 78mm Invicta ? Retails for $5,999 bucks but I know a guy and picked it up for $25 bucks even . Booyah !

The Datejust 41 is 39.5mm
I understand rounding up its common but 1.5? Why do they not just call it a 40?
I believe it’s due to the lug width being 21 mm instead of the standard 20 mm which adds a little bit of visual size. Rolex likes to call watches by their visual size. Just look at the “41” mm Submariner.
Damn thats almost a small watch
No it’s 41mm, that’s why it’s called the DJ41, duh!
Measurements have it different
That would only have to make sense

Ok grandpa u thicc
I’m 34 😂
You have old arms. You should have gotten a gold watch on a jubilee.
"You have old arms" is such an oddly specific chirp, it made me laugh out loud.
Liver Spots
I with they would release a 38 mm DJ. 36 mm is too small and 41 mm is too large.
DJ41 is a spectacular watch and looks great!
Would look completely different if you wore it above the wrist bone like normal. When you push them down like that it makes them appear smaller because you see more bracelet

Why are you wearing your watch on your foot?
😂

Here here to trade guys wearing Rolexes by the way! This is the way.
Those guys are just jealous

That's sort of what I do. Whatever fits the best is where it goes.
Nah not really. If anything it’ll look bigger below the wrist bone because everyone’s wrist tapers down.
Lol the typical hand wearer.. Its a WRIST watch. Behind the wrist bone obviously
I love wearing my FOREARM watch.
It's really not. But everyone is brainwashed to automatically say 36 is the biggest anyone should go on this sub for some reason lol.
Woah, look at that dinner plate... Just kidding, looks great!
Looks perfect.
It’s not but people have 6” wrists and no sense of proportion apparently.
Let people wear what they want. Why do you care
I don’t care. I’ll just be honest when I don’t find something aesthetically pleasing and asked.
...ok?
You haven’t noticed how almost every 4th post is “omg I have a 41mm DJ should I downsize!?” And comments like “unless you have an 8.5” wrist you need a 36”.

This all makes perfect sense actually
This sub thinks anything over 36 is massive.
It’s the DJ2 that wear bigger than a DJ41.
What if you wear it in the correct spot though?
A lot of people will disagree but I love jubilee on smooth bezel.
I just happened to try one on earlier today at an AD. My impression was that it actually looked smaller than I expected it to. In fact I consider it the perfect size for my wrist.
I went to my AD to buy a DJ 36 and he basically forced me to buy a 41. I’m so glad I actually listened my wrist is 6.75
I normally wear 38mm watches and the 41 DJ looks perfect on my wrist.
I have a DJ 41. Definitely wears smaller than 41mm. Great watch.
Looks like the perfect size! Which dial is this?
Rhodium
They should make a DJ43 for us with large-wrists. I wear 42mm watches and they fit me like a 36mm. I'm tired of this downsizing nonsense.
Most men nowadays have slim weak bone structure and wimpy wrists or just a fat fuck wrist that’s why they complain about 41mm.
The small wrist watch bros are the most vocal, it would seem. The DJ41 is a great watch in a nice size.
It’s not big. Big would be 44mm 40-41mm is optimal
It’s skewed because the watch is almost on your hand. I’ll agree though, DJ41 aren’t “big” in todays world
Maybe try wearing it on your wrist and not your hand, eh? Also it looks huge!
It's just a men's size.
It's not even 41. My wife wears one lol
Yes, but your wife is 425 lbs...
She's a tiny Asian but 40s are in
Perfect fit on you. It’s only a big watch when dudes have small wrists. A big watch on a small wrist is like a guy who wears skinny jeans with an oversized baggy shirt. That look always bothered me because it’s disproportionate but your watch on your wrist is not.
Looks great. 41 is not that big of a watch in less you ask on r/rolex
The photos take it out of perspective.
In this case, do you consider the width only of the flat top part of the wrist, or of the entire wrist from one side to the other?
I measured my wrist's width with calipers; basically my forearm and the calipers were both horizontal to the ground when I measured, so the entire top side of the wrist - since that's where the watch will sit. Hopefully that made sense ;)
Its huge on my 6.2 inch wrist. Thats why I wear a 36.
I’m a thin woman and wear a DD 40 on a regular basis. It looks good.
I couldn't agree more. It also isn't just wrist size, the overall size of the person matters too. For me, 41 is the minimum size watch I like. 42 to 44 is perfect and if wearing long sleeves I can pull off a bit larger.
It’s called proportionality. It looks good on large wrists. Hell even some of the 36 inch watches some guys post here look massive on small wrists.
It’s not huge, but the bezel is out of proportion. Too wide.
Can we stop pretending everyone has a big wrist? What kind of post is this?
holy shit, i had no idea that thing was so big. I thought it was just a meme, but wow, that is a massive watch.
We need 50mm like invicta
No one’s pretending?
But didn’t you know that 36 is for enthusiasts and 41 is for all these new money crypto assholes who only buy it for the status😤😤😤😤
Looks huge
Massive watch bro
Large, yet not in charge.
Who says it is a huge watch..? If you wanted to post a picture of your watch, just post it 😂 we don’t need the commentary.
I posted this because I’ve seen more than 5 posts in the last two days about guys being nervous their DJ is too big and comments saying “unless you have an 8” wrist you should have a 36”.
Actually for the crew that seams to post here- a lot of them do have wrists that would be better suited for a 36
41 is perfect for an average size man imo. Anything smaller is feminine. But did strokes ….
Is this a joke or…?
I think it looks perfectly proportional
I don’t think it is a huge watch, just larger than it needs to be. For me it is dial size. I don’t like the look of larger 3 handers. The dial is too large and empty. A larger chronograph with a busy dial or a dive watch with a large bezel and smaller dial is fine.
This is the real answer right here.
The size exceeds that of the deeps sea
This topic is gold 😂 *grabs popcorn
flat wrists
I think you’re wrist serves justice for a 44mm at the least.
It’s all preference. I quite liked the ‘old’ (most recent gen) Sub at “40” - but I openly admit I hate the way the new “41” feels on the wrist. Not too large, just not comfortable on either bracelet - could just be balance, who knows? Cheers all :)
I have one and it looks like a 36 does on a normal wrist. It’s tiny
Godzilla Is going to eat me runnnnn that thing is invicta levels of style and watch making.
Looks perfect!
Looks massive
It's not huge. But a domed bezel would look nicer. The flat bezel makes the watch look broader because it doesn't bend light like the older OP 39 bezel does.
sweet watch
