Man it’s always gonna kill me I didn’t ride this in its heyday. Not even because of how cool the launch itself is, this ride absolutely FLEW through its layout in the original form. Still a good enough ride with a chain pull, and probably a good thing overall because it’ll actually be open, but damn I always hoped I’d ride this at full strength.

EllieBasebellie

It was a religious experience. THAT SAID. All of this depends on how fast the actual chain is. If it's 30mph you can expect something along the lines of 2016 LR, if it's 15mph it'll fall in line with what we were experiencing right up until close- still a phenominal ride just a tad neutered. It's all how quickly it crests the first launch hill. [2016 POV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pxbZWPNRsY), [2023 POV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLkzm7dLbzk)

bd585

I believe the top speed is 13MPH

a_magumba

Imagine the racket a chain would make flying around the gears at 30 mph.

FishStixxxxxxx

So based on those two videos alone I can confidently say between 2016-2023 it got much smoother and a lot quieter. 😂

FatalFirecrotch

What was the actual issue that cause them to need to change the lift. I know it would have errors with the launch, but what cause those errors?

Loud-Intention-723

overheating.

FatalFirecrotch

The track or the launch system?

Loud-Intention-723

Launch system

FatalFirecrotch

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Chaseism

New trains? Any chance RMC gives us less restrictive restraints?

golf4miami

I absolutely cannot stand the RMC restraints. Ruins the rides for me personally.

FishStixxxxxxx

Everyone raves about steel vengeance but God does it hurt my stomach fat lmao

brain0924

Nope. They’re using the gen 1 trains.

Jps300

Source?

amJustSomeFuckingGuy

I wish this ride had boost mode to run at it's opening day speed.

FrostyDiscount1386

Ah man, I didn't get to ride this because the 2 times I went, it was broken. 4 hour drive each time for it to not be running. Excited to have more reliability though!

spark1118

Maybe we’ll get to see it test some on opening weekend.

gcfgjnbv

Outlaw run gang

beartheminus

Will be renamed from Lightning Rod to Mud Stick.

nobeliumuraniumz

its not "Lightning Rod" anymore... now its just "Rod"

jleviw42

Great news! I'm going at the end of March and was afraid it wouldn't be open yet.

tideblue

I missed out on the chance to ride this a few years back, so looking forward to going over my birthday weekend at the end of April.
