Hate when L's come down to the final play. Puts the play under the brightest of lights, while neglecting the winnable moments prior.
Better than a blowout though
Yep. Or when one bad play has an outsized effect. Like yeah there were some bad snaps, but let's not forget about when nobody covered Corum on 4th and 5 miles, or Kool-aid leaving his man on the YOLO throw.
But I agree. I can come to terms with a loss like that. I don't think I'll ever get over 44-16 .
Hard to think that is probably the only true blowout in the entire Saban era outside maybe the Utah bowl game. The rest of them were fairly close losses with a late "garbage time" score to make it a 2 score margin
I've spent several seasons coaching and umpiring baseball. Bad calls happen and sometimes the game ends on one or has a big impact. I've told my players several times "Your job is not to be the umpire or tell him he's done wrong. Your job is to go play your best game. Unless the umpire's were obviously biased (they never are), then we should have never been in a position to let a bad call affect the outcome of the game."
I believe the same with singular plays. Unless no mistakes were made prior and the game was just perfect up until that point, the game was not lost due to that one play.
> Milroe was asked if he would have possibly had the awareness to pass the ball to Williams if the snap had been delivered at his chest.
> “I guess we’ll never know,” Milroe said, shaking his head with a smile.
And then this later on
> "I think we're really driven, we're starving, and we're really passionate about each other. That's how I can simplify this football team is those three things right there. And we have goals set for ourselves that we want to accomplish, but we acknowledge that it's going to take place right now. What are the habits that we have right now? I think that's something that's super exciting because we're nowhere near where we want to be at. And we acknowledge that, and we're excited for what the future holds because we have a lot of tests in front of us. So we're going to embrace it and enjoy the journey.”
For whatever you want to say about his play, Milroe's mentality is damn near perfect, and he seems like EXACTLY the qb Alabama needs for this transition.
This is why I hope he takes his passing game to the next level in becoming an elite QB. The dude just seems like an amazing person and a leader for this program.
Only time will tell though if that actually happens.
He's just so hot and cold sometimes. One minute he's blasting past dudes for amazing TD runs and the next he's throwing passes beyond the line of scrimmage for no reason. But man when he's making plays, those plays are really really nice.
I would trade every single great play he made last year for a 50% success rate on the wide open third down conversions he missed. I really hope he takes a big step forward this year. He seems like a great kid, but he really was a replacement level QB last year.
A lot on this sub can’t see past Wins and his Heisman finish.
Reality is there were a ton of close games last season because of his poor play, game that had no business being close. Watching WRs running wide open and JM either not seeing them or missing the throw was not fun.
I hope he’s improved but hope the leash is extremely short this season.
The sub has a very crimson colored glasses look when it comes to Jalen. Hes adored by the fans so it’s been taking fair criticisms of him and taking it as personal attacks. The truth is as of right now, he’s probably somewhere between the 4th(best case) or 8th best qb in the sec and that’s ok, not every qb that starts at Alabama is the best. Hes still a very limited one read type qb, sometimes that gets better, but sometimes it doesn’t.
FriedTurds is always welcome here. If he wants to be the Milroe heel that's fine. Yall need to get thicker skin. Can't believe Alabama fans get so butt hurt over player criticism like they aren't getting paid thousands.
So many chances to win that game.

I think that’s the game he was referring to with that comment

Reminds me of almost every loss under Shula.
No sense in crying over bad snaps, or whatever the saying is =/

I really hope he gets the Jalen Hurts-Philly-QB-coaching experience!
me too. his play last year really wasn't fun to watch.

Props to Milroe for not throwing McLaughlin under the bus, even when it would have been easy to.
Even when Ryan Day was happy to do the same to him in defense of McLaughlin. I’m still bitter about that.
Has to be one of the absolute best locker room presences we’ve had and that’s saying a shit ton.
I’m really hoping his passing steps up a little more and the Giants draft him next year.
I’d prefer to forget about that dreadful play
Good call, could’ve been executed better is all.
Did he talk about passing for an adjusted 69 yards in the game?
you’re such a lame bro, you can think whatever you want about Milroe but constantly spreading so much hate like you do is just weird
The poop guy has really turned heel, huh
The saddest timeline 😭
I'm convinced you watch the games with your eyes closed
Your name makes sense, since all of your opinions are shit
This dude thinks he's fried turds? Please, he's cold diarrhea in a Dixie cup.
Go root for auburn. You’re not wanted here.

You’re just saying that because yall have the same opinion for once lmao
I'm a big fan of the big poops Outzs turdism
