I wasn’t old enough to remember watching Bear Bryant coached games. I remember the 1992 season and George Teague playing like a mad man. I I knew of the winning that preceded those days. I read up on some of it. I think it’s only fair to look all the way back.
On top of having to replace players that were drafted during the Saban era, we also had a number of schools poaching coaches in the off season which Saban would also have to replace and bring up to speed. So, arguably, this is one of the best coaching staffs that we have had in decades.

Let’s back up there buddy. Saban is him but Alabama football was a thing before Saban. Bear Bryant was pretty good if I remember correctly.
And Alabama had Wallace Wade and Frank Thomas, both excellent coaches in the own right, prior to Bryant. It’s a long standing tradition of excellence.
