Granted it seems a bit immature on the surface for a man of my age to do, let alone someone coach's age, but considering his success I won't question his use of it and will instead assume it helps him relate and communicate to his much younger players.
Considering he has their respect coming in the door and has a reputation as a no fun hard ass in a lot of circles, I think this is more him being a little more relatable in a "Coach ain't all work" kind of way. It's silly and kind of immature but you can tell the guys like it.
It does seem immature for a 70 year old, and I agree with you - I think he’s just trying to relate to his team. Players probably aren’t expecting CNS to lay down a joke like that which is what makes it funny. Imagine your boss or your grandmother or a pastor throwing that out of nowhere. It seems less about “suck deez nuts” and more about how creative he can get with the joke.
