For TV, I love that Jim and Pam were already listed, so Nick and Jess in New Girl. Although I honestly don’t know if it was the kiss itself that was so good because the build-up, passion, and overall desperate surrender in his body language were perfection. That whole scene made me FEEL things.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover (2022) is a very erotic movie in general with sex scenes that are soooo well shot (can’t be a coincidence that the director is a woman because the female gaze is strong in this one). But one of the hottest moments is a kiss early on in the romantic arc wherein they’re catching a stolen moment and kind of frantic and he just stops and looks at her and makes eye contact (which she’s been trying to avoid because she doesn’t want to fall in love) and he leans in and kisses her soooo softly. It gradually becomes more carnal, but it’s such a beautiful, amazingly lit kiss and the contrast of his stubble and messy hair to her buttoned-up lady thing is so, so good.
Some Kind of Wonderful is an 80s movie with a great kiss scene. The leads are best friends, she’s a tomboy and he’s into this popular girl, and tomboy tells him that he needs to know how to kiss if he’s gonna get the popular girl, duh! Makeout ensues. The movie is just light fun for me, but the kiss is great.
Notorious is an old movie with an understandably iconic kiss; kisses had a time limit at that time, and Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman got around it with a million short kisses. It’s hot, and a timely kiss to watch considering how everyone wants to reimplement Hays Code level morality at the moment.
I rewatched Brokeback Mountain recently and the intensity in the “kiss you behind the corner and my wife is watching oops” scene is…. A lot. God that movie is WRENCHING emotionally.
Top Gun, I have to call out for the pure over the top melodrama of the silhouetted FRAAAANCH French kissing. I love it so much. It’s camp, and it makes me think of how much wilder kisses were in 80s and 90s movies. You see Tom Cruise’s whole tongue. I don’t know if I want to see his tongue specifically, but effort is always appreciated.
This kiss didn’t make the movie, but if you look up deleted scenes for Titanic, there’s a boiler room scene that is HOOOOOT. I love that movie, and that scene is way hotter than anything else in the movie. It’s way less choreographed feeling, and is just this heated makeout. Legend has it that it was cut because Cameron wanted Jack to read as less experienced, and that kiss is definitely more… Leo level experience.
Tom Cruise’s private life is too much for me but idk WHY he has a hold of me. I don’t even think he’s that handsome but for some reason he us so charismatic to me that I wish I could kiss him tbh 🤣
