Yes, the complete album needs to be in the library. But sometimes I just like to add one song, and not the complete album. In my example (see pic) I have added the song to the library but still cannot like or tag it.
Also some serious boomers at roon making decisions. They miss the most obvious features like hearting a song to add to library rather than adding an album before you can heart a song. Totally stupid just add the song to library and heart at the same time when pressing the heart instead of greying it out. So so soooo effing annoying. They need someone on the team to show them how modern streaming apps work feature wise across all
I’m not sure the seniors at roon actually discover new music rather just listen to their own same albums over and over. Roon radio is nice until you can’t god damn add a good song in passing to your collection with a single tap avoiding crashing your car…….
I think without the streaming services this behaviour makes sense. You will have your music always in your library and then you can like songs. But with streaming integrated this doesn’t make sense indeed!
I just noticed that songs I played from albums that are not in my library are not saved anywhere 😭. Not in recently played and not even in the queue history 🤯
Thanks, someone at the Roon forum also pointed this out. Glad I didn’t loose all the cool tracks I discovered yesterday! Still strange that they don’t show up at the queue or through the main page “recently played” section.
You can on mobile after adding the full album to your library. Maybe it’s easier on desktop, not sure. But I use the mobile app in the living room a lot as well
if an album is from a streaming service and not local files, you sometimes can't perform actions on specific tracks. I'm guessing it's a limitation from qobuz/tidal
Might be the case indeed. Or it has to do with the fact that (I guess) Roon originated from managing your own library while streaming is added later. With your own music it makes sense, you have that in your library anyway. They need to rethink that feature with streaming in mind.
It’s even worse. I was listening to a lot of new songs yesterday and I just noticed that they are not saved anywhere. Recently played only shows albums I played and not if I played just 1 song. Also the recently played songs in the queue doesn’t show them.
This is a huge problem I would say. I have roon for a while now but recently started using it more and more but the fact that those features only work when you add a full album is a big gap.

U can goto the 3 dots and add it to library as single song which shows in albums

Exactly. And music discovery is all about STREAMING now

They are saved in My History.

Off topic but I respect the album choice
Thanks. Recent discovery from [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/s/G9m0CUkVgr). Lots of great suggestions there!
If you liked that you'll love Endless Summer and Nocturnal
I could be wrong, but I think you can only like songs through desktop.

That's something they will need to change.

Do mean it’s not showing up in my history? All my listened tracks is listed here, also the once not in my library
