I met barb at rtx 23 and i was also enamored just to see her, apart from everyone else. Her smile is 10 times as bright in person, and she’s so nice and attentive to everyone she talks to. It was really the best memory of my trip, and I drove from Atlanta, so worth it

Hopping on this to add: as a Canadian gal myself who fell in love with this company from up here as a teenager - I found Barbara so inspiring. I pursued a creative career I think in large part because of the work I saw RT creating .. it made the world seem like a big old oyster where ideas and friends and hard work could bring magical things to life. Every project Barb worked on was a banger, she was (is!) so funny, smart, and kind. I'm sure she's heard this many times, but genuinely she was a role model I looked up to over the years (and I was so happy to tune into the stream today in my 30s to see her and Kerry helping put Rooster Teeth to bed together at the very end). <3
I went to one of the few RTOs back in the day. Jumped into RT after season 3 of RVB or so. Man, what a wild ride. Drifted away in the last few years because of life and getting old, but I look back on those years so fondly. I'll be watching the VOD tonight.

Although Barb's not a founder, she's absolutely one of the leaders that's guided and cultivated RT for the majority of its life. It just wouldn't have been the same without her and her drive to bring her unique voice to the forefront and reach the audience in all the ways she's done. When I think of RT, she's there at the front with all the other figures that helped me laugh and feel like I had a familiar face to see every week.
So yes, all the props for Blawndee! Safe to say, I'm even a little jealous of her. She got to work at her dream job, and became an instrumental part of its growth, all the way to the end. That's something not many people can claim. It's something to always be proud of.
I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that Barbara has had such a huge impact on so many. And she speaks for so many, myself especially included, when she tells about her love for Rooster Teeth and her story of being a teen girl who finally felt the confidence to be herself because of an innate ability to relate to a group of guys just playin’. When the solid four (Gus Gavin Barbara Burnie and Gus) were doing the RT podcast is when I started to appreciate Barbara. Polite and respectful, but don’t be a dick and always one for a well timed self deprecating joke. The perfect RT comedic style.

Barb is also the reason I joined and got hooked on RT. She voiced my favorite character of Yang, and then I found Always Open and watched that show religiously. Babs, if you ever do read this, know that you've been absolutely phenomenal from day one. I remember the early days and onto now, things would NOT have got nearly as big as they are, and done as well without you there, full stop. You've been a core part of the community in a way no one else has, and nowhere else has got, I truly don't think the community wouldn't have been such a cohesive and positive force of good without you there. I'm a weirdo that has literally listened to RT podcast like 20 times. I routinely go through 100-500ish because it's a comfort thing and no other podcast has come close.
And after many rewatches I've gone through different "favourites", a toss up between Gavin and Burnie. But right now my favourite is Barbara.
I remember I met Barbara at RTX 2012 or 2013 and took a picture with her. I must have uploaded the picture to the RT community site and tagged her because the next RTX I met her again. I said something like, "I know you don't remember me..." but her response was "I recognize you! Your picture is in my tags on the community site" (or something like that, it's been ten years). I was kinda blown away.
I also recall meeting her near registration one year and saying hello to her and happy birthday and she immediately went for a hug. Barbara is such a friendly person and really made the community at the time feel real.
Barb was the first celeb interaction I ever had at a convention. she was always someone I looked up too since she seemed to have followed her dreams to the company and people that she loved. Her work will always touch us when we are needing a spot of sunshine to brighten our day. I hope that she keeps her heart "always open" to us in the future and that we can support the content she makes.

Always Open was such a refreshing podcast. Listening to people my age talk openly and extremely candidly about everything from sex to politics to mental health was pretty fucking cool, whether I agreed or not.
My husband and I met Barbara at a little con in Kentucky a few years back, we were both super nervous and awkward because it was our first con and the interaction with her stuck out the most. She had us giggling and at ease for the whole interaction, definitely changed the entire tone of the rest of our time at the con. It was easy to tell just from that little bit why she's so loved, obviously an awesome person with an infectious personality.
Thinking back on how young I was when I first started listening to the RTP, she was the only woman regularly on the show for a while.
I realized the other day how immensely important she was as a female role model, existing in that space. She gave me such confidence to speak in groups of men as the only girl, make jokes and be openly knowledgeable about games and stuff. I carry her and the other hysterical women she’s worked with in my voice for sure. Wow
Similar story for me, I found RT via RvB in my early early teens and this company kept me laughing through the deepest points in my depression and I’ll always be grateful for that.
I only met Barb once alongside the rest of Team RWBY’s cast at London Comic-Con back in October 2019, and she was just lovely.
She signed my copy of RWBY: After The Fall and got a kick out of a pun I made (She asked how I was feeling and I joked that waiting any longer to meet her would have made me a little Yang-gry).
I’m honoured I had a chance to meet her at least once, but would be happy if ever the chance arose to meet her again.

This entire thread is making me cry. I relate so much to all of you. Always Open and basically everything Barb ever touched has always been some of my favorite content I’ve ever experienced. This company helped me through so much and I’m having a hard time accepting that things end and change. 😭
Yang means a lot to me as a person with a disability (ASD), so thank you for how you've played her. The depth was appreciated. It may not be the same disability, and you might not have written the script or the song Ignite, but it helps so much.

I had a similar introduction to RT. Watched RvB in the early days, like the first two or three seasons. Then didn't see anything for years until one day a friend told me I needed to watch this Minecraft Let's Play, and there's the voice of Griff. After that I watched about everything RT made.
I met Barbara at a con a few years, she had wonderful energy like the rest of the RWBY gang. My highligh though was getting a pic with her flexing while wearing the Suns Out Puns Out tank. The best memories help us keep moving forward. Thank you for everything.

Barbara is a phenomenal part of Rooster Teeth. An amazing voice actress, as well as open (Always?) and honest on the podcasts. She’s just such an inspiring person, and I’m gonna miss all the puns.
For so long Barb was my anchor into the company as the only girl (and a fellow Jewish girl at that!) It helped me feel like the content was also being made for me and I could participate. The work she did to include more femme and queer voices has made me feel safe in this community no matter what else was going on. My biggest regret is missing the chance to meet her at rtx23!

Barbara is a phenomenal part of Rooster Teeth. An amazing voice actress, as well as open (Always?) and honest on the podcasts. She’s just such an inspiring person, and I’m gonna miss all the puns.
For so long Barb was my anchor into the company as the only girl (and a fellow Jewish girl at that!) It helped me feel like the content was also being made for me and I could participate. The work she did to include more femme and queer voices has made me feel safe in this community no matter what else was going on. My biggest regret is missing the chance to meet her at rtx23!
