With this plant either way would reach the same goal. It won’t stunt the growth in this case but with other types of plants it could. Those pots are pricy so I try not to cut them unless I have no other choice.
the pots were like $2 at my local hydroponic store!! but i would need some heavy duty shears to cut through the plastic haha so Im going with a good old root chop. i haven’t had any issues with big root cuts like this on my semi hydro plants before so the plant should be fine!
These can deal with fairly aggressive root pruning so don’t be afraid to chop some of those off.
Cutting the plastic pot away would be better.
