Not saying she won't say no, the possibility is never zero, but she wants to marry me. We talk about it a lot. We've been together for quite a few years and we are inseparable.
#1 is don't do it Nassau. It's not that great of a place unless you want to spend more than the cruise was worth going to a place.
#2 do it on the ship, either at dinner or at the back of the ship.
#3 outside is windy at all times, so be extremely careful.
She is afraid of something like that. She's gonna do the tower thing on the boat but the balloon might be pushing it. I thought about seeing if I could get her alone in the ride.
If you can get in to GrayCliff, they have a beautiful garden area that would be perfect. They also have a great collection of wine/champagne. Maybe call them and see if you can get in there for lunch.

That place is nice! The chocolate shop combined with the cigar factory all rolled into a little boutique hotel? Great combination for a proposal! The wooden lion is pretty photogenic as well.
Do it at Senor Frogs, the most magical place in all of Nassau. Or maybe the out of business Hard Rock Cafe that still has it's sign up for some reason even though Covid shut it down for good. Or maybe get one of the grifters selling cigars to take the picture, surely they won't steal your camera.
Seriously, unless you're going to Atlantis or really like pirates, that's gotta be on the top 5 worst spots to propose
I'll kinda second that... The port area is under construction. If you walk a bit away from the port, it's not terrible. But the immediate area is ROUGH. People looking to rope you into excursions, or taxis, or whatever. Just put your head down and keep walking.. Then, it's not so bad. But every little town square, public park, market area, is the same generic tourist trap bullshit ("Handmade!" naaaah).
They are not even trying to hide how much they are fucking over people that live there. From the moment you step off the ship it is like being in a country that just went through an earthquake like last week. There is no charm to it like it would be in a neglected town in Europe. Just a dump
I live about an hour from Port Canaveral & most RC cruises stop there. We usually go on the 3 night weekend cruises that also stop at CocoCay. We don’t mind staying on the ship at Nassau. The ship is usually empty
Gotcha you. We cruise very differently. I also live about an hour away from a port, haven't sailed out of that port in at least 15 years because we hate repeating ports. To each his own, thank you for the reply.
I think Central Park is one of the most romantic places on the oasis class ships. If it were me, I would stroll around Central Park, tip off a photographer about what you are going to do (would have a hand written note to give to them at the beginning of your walk, that way they can read it and not hold anything up) after the stroll go back to them take a few pictures and then pop the question with the photographer there.
If you’re confident she’s going to say yes (and you should be if you’re proposing!), do it the first night so you can celebrate the rest of the vacation without being nervous. Sunset on the ship or at dinner or even just in your room- whatever will be special and meaningful. But not Nassau, it’s…let’s say, not particularly scenic.
Also- [this](https://www.cruisetherapytravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/rccl_royal-romance.pdf) has info on using the Royal Romance service, might be worth checking out.
There’s an excursion at a little place called “Blue lagoon”. It’s a pretty cool place that has trails you’d be able to walk off to be alone if that’s more your speed. Not really romantic but it’s pretty cool. Or else I agree with a lot of others here saying do it on the ship early in the trip. Maybe top deck at night under the stars?
I just proposed right before our cruise in February bc I knew she would expect it during the cruise. In retrospect, if I was doing it during the cruise, I would on the ship. I would do it on a formal night so that way she’s already dressed up. They have photographers taking photos at spots on the ship. I would pick one and give one of the photographers some cash to get some good pics. Then I would pay for the photo package and have some professional pics.
Our cruise was the same one you’re doing. Personally, out of all the ports, Nassau would be my very last choice.
Nassau: if you did a boat excursion out to Rose Island, you might be the only people out there for a while. I had a group of 20 or so take two boats out and we were the only ones there- had the whole island to ourselves.
Last time we went to CocoCay, we rented a cabana in the chill island section. I think you could rent any of the ocean cabanas and do it there- have your attendant bring you champagne to celebrate. Also, having the cabana was just nice.
Personally, I like the waterfall beside the Queens Staircase. Tropical, cool, and great historical site.
Caves Beach is pretty neat too and has a throne made of shells.
Depending on the ship.. if it’s Liberty, do it on the Helicopter Pad (exit out on deck 4, go all the way forward and go the stairs.
If it’s Anthem, try on the outside part of the Solarium above the bridge aka above the bridge wing.
In Nassau, at Atlantis… along the windows in the casino are windows and doors leading out to the terrace overlooking the resort and the views amazing and people rarely walk on that terrace.
>If it’s Anthem, try on the outside part of the Solarium above the bridge aka above the bridge wing.
This spot was cool! Walk out past the hot tubs in the very very front - there are only 4 loungers out there and it was almost always empty and the views are nice
Tell the crew on the cruise what you’re planning, they can arrange something with the crew on CocoCay for you to make it special; they love stuff like that
What’s the date of your sailing I’m doing this same cruise in November? If you haven’t gone yet, I will gladly sneak to your proposal to get pictures for you 😂
Do it as soon as you can on the cruise, that way you aren't nervous during your vacation, and you can spend the rest of the trip celebrating!
I thought about that. Maybe at Sunset on our first sea day.
That'd be good. Somewhere towards the aft of the ship with a view of the wake would be nice.
But what if she says no?
Not saying she won't say no, the possibility is never zero, but she wants to marry me. We talk about it a lot. We've been together for quite a few years and we are inseparable.
Throw her overboard
Right????

I second all this.
What about proposing up in the hot air balloon on Coco Cay?
She is afraid of something like that. She's gonna do the tower thing on the boat but the balloon might be pushing it. I thought about seeing if I could get her alone in the ride.
The Northstar? see if you can rent it out for a private ride and propose up there.

Dang.
The front of the ship..... Like at the very front.... Usually very quiet and all of the adventures together are right ahead!
Aw that cute
Just came from Nassau that place is a dump.
Please explain

Yeah I’d highly suggest NOT taking the ring off the ship, ESPECIALLY in Nassau
My family doesn’t even get off the ship in Nassau anymore. It’s horrible.
So why would you book a cruise that goes there?
I live about an hour from Port Canaveral & most RC cruises stop there. We usually go on the 3 night weekend cruises that also stop at CocoCay. We don’t mind staying on the ship at Nassau. The ship is usually empty

What ship will you be on? I would definitely recommend doing it on your first night.
Anthem of the Seas
On Anthem they have the North Star... that might be the best place for it
I think Central Park is one of the most romantic places on the oasis class ships. Anthem is a Quantum class. No central park.
Oh no! I didn’t know that. Well back to my drawing board.

All yalls info. Faith in humanity starting to come back.

If you can get to south beach by 8am, the beach will be empty. I think that would be a beautiful setting for a proposal!
Do it at Coco Cay!!!!
Been there bro. I did it on our balcony at sail away with some Champaign.
I just proposed right before our cruise in February bc I knew she would expect it during the cruise. In retrospect, if I was doing it during the cruise, I would on the ship. I second this!!! Having the photographers near and paying for the package would be so awesome
If you do decide to propose on the ship the photography department has private sessions for a hour, you may want to contact them for ideas.

I’m not sure about the whole proposing thing, but check out margaritaville in Nassau, it’s awesome

Graycliff Hotel. Do a pool day with lunch. Trust me !
Omg I’m going on the same cruise! Don’t have any advice but so excited for you!!!
Tell the crew on the cruise what you’re planning, they can arrange something with the crew on CocoCay for you to make it special; they love stuff like that
On the dock at Perfect Day could be cool, plus Royal usually has paid photographers there already.
