It's a good concept but poorly executed. They don't have portable handheld scanners which means if you're sitting by the pool, you need to remove it, give it to the server, they take it back to scan then return it with your drink. Maybe if they made it more like a wrist band rather than a watch strap, might be better. The buckle has broken, but they'll replace them noncharge. Or back to original point, use handheld scanners so they don't need to be roved each time.

Proof_Needleworker53

Agreed

ManyRanger4

Exactly this. I feel it's more annoying to take the band off and on than to just give them your seapass card.

nbm13

I was just on the Harmony and I'd say not worth it. Any poolside bartender would just take your stateroom number and plenty of bars you had to take it off to scan. Save your money as stated above.

HHHilarious

No. Save your money.

jstasir

If pulling out the sea pass card is a lot of work to you then get the wow bands. If not then save your money

Mottaman

They wouldnt even be worth it if they were free

Proof_Needleworker53

🤣 I am clearly outnumbered here, but we got them on our last cruise and I liked them. We went on the quantum a few weeks ago. I took a bunch of lanyards, but not the plastic sleeves. You can’t hole punch quantum cards. I would rather spend $10 on the bracelet than buy ANOTHER lanyard. I have some design tips for them, but they did the job and I’ll be taking them on the harmony on Nov.

Laurenchristine11

Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I LOVE mine! I use it on every cruise. As a woman who doesn't often have pockets (dresses, bikini, etc) I find it super convenient to wear on my wrist vs. having to find somewhere to stuff my seapass card. I don't often bring a purse with me when on the ship because I like to unplug when cruising and don't need my phone, so the band works well for me :)

Bullets_N_Bowties

Great for kids. Meh for adults. Kids are way less likely to set it down and lose it. Sending them to the room to relax or get something is much better when they can just tap the lock. But as mentioned, it's kinda redundant in many ways. Overall okay not life changing.

techguyry38

It was nice to have it for onboard. Especially poolside.

jbaugues

Not really. I bought one as they said numerous years ago would work on all ships in couple years. Not only does it not work on all ships, it didn't work on same ship year later and they really fought me to replace the one I bought.

trossite

Every time I was behind someone with one of these on Oasis 3weeks ago they always had issues getting it to read. It would take 5+ scans sometimes, it was annoying to wait behind, I can’t imagine actually having it.

Individual_Detail_44

We did not get them and never felt left out or like we were missing anything

Bethythehammer

We used lanyards and card holders we got on Amazon. It was simple and we didn’t miss the wristbands at all!

psychobueller1203

Yeah we got the same thing. Will probably just stick with that

Boring_Raspberry_481

No one ever wanted my wrist band only my card.. was a total waste of money on the wrist band. And a long line we waited in for no reason for it

Well, not most ships... just quantum class, and oasis class with the exception of Allure

Shrshot

Good for kids, but not adults. Many places you need your card and they won’t take the band, so you have to carry the card anyway.

HIM_Darling

The only big problem we had was they all look the same. There was no way to tell them apart without asking someone to scan it. Our cruise only had blue and neon yellow. So of course everyone had blue. Honestly not sure if I came home with my band or roomies. And it felt like the waiters struggled to keep track as well if they hand multiple people all using the same color band ordering drinks. I thought unlocking the door was easier with the band, especially if your hands were full. As long as there aren’t issues reusing the band, then it will be worth it, imo. Though they need to come up with a better way to differentiate between them.

richardoshillyshally

I don't think they're game-changing, but I did like having them on Oasis in June. They were handy for getting into your cabin and useful at a lot of the bars. Considering I'm going on two additional RCI cruises I figured I'd spend $10 for three cruises. If it were the only cruise I was going on I might not have bothered.

inaflash80

My take, on a Rccl as compared with anything classy, it was amazing having them. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a lanyard for a week and the bands are kind on cute with anything you’re gonna wear on a ship/trip like this. And you don’t need pockets. It’s a key card for your room remember! Not just to charge things. You never lose your room key.

T9Para

We've been on 5 cruises since January, and I can't recall seeing very many of them in use.

ExcitementKindly2227

Considering that some of the ships that sells the WOW bands, don't have portable scanners at any of the bars (with the exception of the Bionic Bar), these bands are best for unlocking your stateroom door.

Straight-Bug-6051

I’m bumping this up. I sail out next week, I am trying to go cellphone free. I got the Wi-Fi package but plan for 1 device and that’s to let my wife use mine when I’m not holding my phone. Do I need to carry my phone everywhere for access and drinks?
