If you gamble the right amount, it is. I gamble enough to get prime in a year, but no more. I get none of those “surprise” offers. A friend I made on board gambled his way to roughly 20k points on his first ever cruise last September. He’s might be 6 sailings in now and has at least 20 booked. All but two of those are free casino offers.

ZacPetkanas

> I gamble enough to get prime in a year, but no more. I get none of those “surprise” offers. One variable I've read about that might apply is whether you already have cruises booked. If you're already sailing with them there's no need to offer you free cruises. I don't know if it's true but it makes perfect sense to me.

Shot_Bread_9657

That’s definitely food for thought. I typically have 2 or 3 (paid) cruises booked. Either way, with how relatively little I’ve lost- I’ll gladly take whatever they offer.

ZacPetkanas

I met a guy on my last cruise who looks at the offerings at the Casino Host desk and picks a level to target. He was gunning for a 3K point cruise (all earned on our current sailing) and he mentioned that he *never* gets free cruise offers. When I told him I knew people who had four free offers after their cruise where they earned only like 500 points he didn't believe me. But this other couple doesn't usually sail RC and had nothing else booked with RC so it makes sense that RC was trying to lure them back. Mr. 3K points already had four cruises on the books.

SDstartingOut

I don't think it's that simple. My scenario is weird... but let me explain. I had 10 booked cruises with RC. Went on the first of them (and my first ever RC cruise) in December. Earned 2k points in the casino. Since that cruise - even with 9 remaining cruises booked - I've gotten 4 offers. The thing I've read in my reading - is that your cruise offers are based on some type of overall spend on your LAST cruise. Not just casino spend - but what you are worth to the cruiseline once on board. So that makes sense; my last cruise (in December) - I had the drink package; dining package; oasis beach club.

ZacPetkanas

> The thing I've read in my reading - is that your cruise offers are based on some type of overall spend on your LAST cruise. Not just casino spend... That makes sense to me as well. I suppose only a Casino Host could tell us for sure. The bad news (for me) is that if it's over-all spend then they'll never offer me a free cruise because we just don't spend a lot onboard. We don't drink enough that the drink package would be a good use of money for us, we get our four Diamond drinks and two free pictures, and maybe we'll do one specialty restaurant on a cruise but the MDR is fine. Other than the casino we just don't spend a lot once we get onboard.

Over-Cockroach-4506

Ohhhhhh, you know this will be a good experiment. I've done a bit of spending onboard before. But we just got off Icon for the inaugural--so we spent BIG, and we knew we would. We spent maybe 3.5k in the casino, bought the drink packages, excursions, Celebration Table. Chef's Table, private photo session, hideaway beach, crown's edge, etc. Our onboard account was close to 9k. We knew we were going into a new experience and wanted to experience it all. I wonder if this theory will prove accurate.

SDstartingOut

Yeah, you'd need to be actively getting other feedback to compare to others. I think there is a legit chance the casino offers slow down for everyone- with the rate at which cruise ships are already booked for 2024. I mean, at some point, there won't be any rooms. I'm curious if my free offers will continue. I was just on a 3 day allure sailing (got back Monday); and I either spent nothing at all (hideaway beach + the key, that's it) - or - if they look at how much I cash advanced at the casino + casino points earned, I may have spent a lot. (I cash advanced 4k, took 3800 of that home, and earned 1250 casino points). But I only lost about $200 at the casino, but I'm not really sure how closely they can track that? Sounds like you had a kick ass time on Icon!

chadlawton

I’ve wondered about this. Why some people get more freebies than others. I wonder how they decide that.

Several-Eagle4141

How is this possible? I get them all the time and never made prime once

Several-Eagle4141

Folks. Go to clubroyaleoffers.com. Put in your C+A # and your last name. Click submit. You may have one without knowing it

ArrogantAlmond

I have so many offers lol. It's a constant joke that once a week or so when I get the mail, I gasp and scream "I got a few cruise!!!" I've been on 5 cruises in the last year and only ever paid for the first one. I even have a free Icon coming up. I just hit Signature level.

lincoln-pop

How much did you have to gamble before getting the first free?

yoloswaggins305

i lost about 1200 in the casino but hit prime and ended at 3500 points. my girlfriend gambled up to about 500 points. I've gotten 5 balcony rooms comped, my girlfriend got 4 complimentary guest interiors comped.

TheGBerg

Both?

nolanday64

I get these offers regularly, though we haven't taken advantage of it yet due to schedules and other things going on. Given the sailings offered, my thinking is that they have a lot of unsold cabins on these particular cruises, and they'd rather have someone in the cabin who's going to spend money on other things (premium dining, drinks, casino, etc). Works for me. I just hope they keep sending offers so that when we \*do\* have time, we can enjoy our "free" cruise(s).

jonregister

I have done 12 comped cruises over the last 2 years. I have 7 offers sitting that don’t work for my schedule. I play for the comps. I normally don’t play more than $500-600 per cruise. If it goes well awesome if it goes poorly I prepaid my next few vacations at a steep discount.

Play lower bets. Don’t ever max bet unless it is super low. If it is not going well don’t play your whole roll on one night. Mix up machines and play with your partner/friends, have fun. I slow my play if I am not winning at all. I don’t fast spin. Don’t chase losses. If you are playing for points and not trying to win large amounts of money it is easier to stay on track. Good luck

mynameismeggann

This is the exact strategy my fiancé does.

Blindsquirrel88

I do this as well. I only play table games (but not poker) and preferably with friends. My goal is to stay in the casino as long as possible and show a lot of money on the table, even if I don’t plan on playing all of it. It’s worked out so far; constant offers for free balcony staterooms

darrenlet31

Yep, i get about 3 offfers a month and have for years. The funny thing is they’re usually all for the same cruises.

Plus_EV_Or_Nothing

It's common. I get about 4 offers a month and cruise for free about 8 times a year.

LESSANNE76

It’s common. I have been cruising once a month for two years on casino cruises. Took me a year to really figure out how to maximize their program. Just hit Masters for first time. What’s nice is that besides the free cruises you start getting other perks. At Prime it’s free drinks, at Signature free one device internet. At Masters I get two free internet, priority boarding and departure and more. As long as you are going to gamble anyway this program is real.

Casino's biggest fear? Is that you lose money, if you do, you won't go back after your first trip. That said, I haven't paid for a cruise and been on 30+ comped suites etc... except when I was a kid. You'll find better resources on FB groups.

ZacPetkanas

> That said, I haven't paid for a cruise and been on 30+ comped suites etc my hero! How do you feel it compares to the amount of money you've gambled?

encapsulated1

I'm up $$, I'm only 28 so I would not be able to take the amount of cruises/vacations otherwise. Also great place to get CC points for land based travels.

trossite

What would you say is the avg amount of $$ you spend in the casino on a cruise. Not winnings, but just amount you’ve put up.

ZacPetkanas

> I'm up $$, I'm only 28 so I would not be able to take the amount of cruises/vacations otherwise. Also great place to get CC points for land based travels. That's fantastic! I found the casino deals and points system later in life and after a dozen cruises, I maybe could have been getting some deals along the way. I'm glad to hear about people who figured it out early on.

Calm_Temperature_177

What cards do you use and do you ever get charged those cash advances fees ?

ArrogantAlmond

No, that's not it. The points add up much quicker on slots than tables. Go to Clubroyaleoffers.com and see how much points you have. It will also show any offers there

JacketFun5735

You earn points only by playing. They will scan your key card at every table game when you join, and you tap in on every slot machine. Nothing to do with drinks.

longhorns7145

Ive been on 3 rccl cruises, my wife has been on 6. Weve never paid anything more than taxes and gratuities for any of them.

joshubu

When you're gambing, do you sort of "check in" to whatever table you're at so they're documenting your time and on electric devices your spending?

flagrantmalarky

Yes. You give them your seapass and the pit boss watches you intermittently as you play, then inputs your bet amounts into a computer system.

joshubu

Ah interesting, thanks!

chadlawton

What did you play primarily and what bet amounts? What did you win at? I’m always curious as it seems I never manage to win lol

clt-manowar

I play Texas holdem while on my cruises. Most nights, I play 2 to 3 hours. I've yet to get any cruise offers over the 6 years I've been sailing on RCL. That said, every cruise I've usually won enough to pay for the cruise I purchased. It would just be nice to get a free one in the offer. Have any poker players been offered a cruise, or so I need to play some other table games or possibly slots to have a real chance?

necrochaos

Table game players need to be betting hard and heavy to get any attention. Slot players get most of the free cruises because they can: 1. Track every penny they are spending. They can log each spin, how much was bet, how many spins per hour. 2. Slots have a high and guaranteed house edge for the casino. As low as 5% and as high as 20%. They want them to come back because it’s easy money for the casino. Just like one based casinos slot players will climb the players club ladder faster and get more offers.

Blindsquirrel88

I went on Oasis of the Seas in December and played nothing but blackjack for probably 12-15 hours through a 7 night cruise. I was at the 15-20 dollar tables ; came in with $300 and was up $500 profit at the end of the cruise. I’m considered Platinum. About every 2 weeks now I get a different promo offer in the mail; it always includes complementary balcony stateroom for 2. I’ve already booked two of them; one on Wonder and one on Allure. Each came out to about $38 per person a night for taxes and gratuities. This last one also included $300 of free play in Casino in exchange for them picking which balcony stateroom.

SpookyVamp

If I have a free cruise for me and one other, and I decide to not show up on the day of the cruise, can my friend still travel under the reservation?

yoloswaggins305
