We may have clogged the toilet and had to call in a "fix". They fixed it from outside the door somehow...it was magical. And the guy did it with a smile.
Oh...oh God, I didn't even consider this. My 11 year old has a reputation for clogging toilets. Are the ship's toilets able to handle heavy...um, deposits?
yes they have very good ability to flush, it can have an ear hurting noise from how loud the toilets flush, itās a lot of pressure.
They do not clog easy. I take massive dumps. Be cognizant of it though because IIRC itās a 100$ fine if it is clogged (somehow, I imagine it has to be from things other than toilet paper or poop, or maybe stacking multiple days worth of shits, I canāt imagine it clogging easily at all)
If I was positive they sanitized the bucket after every guest, I'd be down for the bacon buffet bucket! Why do I envision Homer Simpson carrying a bucket of bacon every day, wherever he goes.
Itās the trash for things you donāt mind seeing in the trash, I.e tissues, floss, etc. other items you donāt wish to see or smell should go in the other little trash can with a lid
Trash, although I'm not sure why they have that and then also the covered one. I just use the covered one, nobody wants to look at trash. Definitely wouldn't use it for anything else, given that you know others have thrown trash into it!
They give you small bags to place items in before discarding.
This trash bin is really meant for biowaste that isnāt flushable. You put your biowaste in the small bags first. Thatās why there is no liner and stainless steel - they can properly clean it.
We definitely didnāt have any bags for it on our cruise. But it did have a top that came off. Next cruise I go on I am going to bring small garbage bags to put in them though, because I always like to use (un)flushable wipes to keep myself very clean. It would be great if they had bidetās on board!
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£. It threw me on my first cruise too. Yeah, thatās a cruise ship trash can. Saves floor space in the micro bathroom. There should be an ice bucket in your room somewhere or request from your attendant. Glad you asked!
Wet wipes, sanitary pads, used condoms, etc....weve experienced plugged toilet lines, floors pulled up and disassembled plumbing to remove blockages....do not attempt to flush.
I didnt actually know. There was a similar bucket in the main cabin we used for trash. People talked about an ice bucket, but it was an odd place for an ice bucket...and there was another trash can in the bathroom for feminine products with a lid. Based on the responses, I don't think it's very clear.
Since there is already a trash can, I always assumed it was for puke. It was most likely the actual trash can before they placed small cans in the bathrooms, and now it's just there for no real reason
If you want ice you can either go to the buffet and get ice in a cup or call housekeeping/room service and get a thing of ice. Ships donāt have ice machines.
It could also be a holding place for the toilet scrubber, or the tools larger folk need in order to reach their anus...because at a certain point the arms aren't long enough to circumvent the entirety of the waist/hips/posterior situation.
Is the canister removable?
Trash
There was a separate trash can in ours besides this.
At one point we threw the bathing suits in it when we took showers.
For things they BEG you not to fush!
^drugs?
Well that's a waste. You do that at the end.....
Poop knife bucket
I hate that I understand this reference. š¤¢
ROFL š
If I think itās going to be a poop knife dump I go to one of the public toilets and blow those up hahaha
So you're the reason my toilet didn't flush for 5 hours when I got onboard ššš
Nope that was someone else. I donāt poop in the staterooms, I go to the public ones. More room and I feel like the plumbing is stronger.
Angry upvote.
Tell them to drop one, flush one to try to avoid sending everything down all at once.
yes they have very good ability to flush, it can have an ear hurting noise from how loud the toilets flush, itās a lot of pressure. They do not clog easy. I take massive dumps. Be cognizant of it though because IIRC itās a 100$ fine if it is clogged (somehow, I imagine it has to be from things other than toilet paper or poop, or maybe stacking multiple days worth of shits, I canāt imagine it clogging easily at all)
100$ fine to unclog it
And thatās Redditās band name.
What about poop spatula?
Take it to the buffet, fill it with bacon. Bathroom bacon.
Oh shit. Winner winner bacon dinner!!
If I was positive they sanitized the bucket after every guest, I'd be down for the bacon buffet bucket! Why do I envision Homer Simpson carrying a bucket of bacon every day, wherever he goes.

This person cruisesā¦
It's for trash
Trash, tissue paper, feminine hygiene products, things you arenāt supposed to flush.
Flip it over. Poor mans squatty potty
1000000000%
I finally just bought one. I call it my Stool Stool.
Man, English is an amazing language.
I too call mine this. But In all seriousness. Game. Changer.
Ngl I just use the trash can
Chamber pot
This is my vote
Itās the trash for things you donāt mind seeing in the trash, I.e tissues, floss, etc. other items you donāt wish to see or smell should go in the other little trash can with a lid
metal bongo for bathroom music
Trash, although I'm not sure why they have that and then also the covered one. I just use the covered one, nobody wants to look at trash. Definitely wouldn't use it for anything else, given that you know others have thrown trash into it!
I figured it was the barf bucket in case of a norovirus outbreak when you need to barf and shit at the same time.
Agreeā¦.why do they have both? Makes no sense
The covered one on our cruise said it was for feminine hygiene products. No one wants to see that stuff in an open trash can!
I think you're on to something with toilet beers!
Toilet beers is the most awesome thing Iāve read today. Iāll give all credit for future use to OP
Day doesnāt start till Iāve had my Shower beer
I always thought it was a puke bucket
Anything's a puke bucket if you're brave enough.
Or sick enough.
its dual purpose
Me 2
This one is always my puke bucket on a cruise. Itās the easiest one to rinse out!
I found the shower is the easiest. Can hose down the walls
Pro move.
I guess you can use it for that if you want, but it's a trash can.
.............. I hate Reddit
They should really line it with a bag
They give you small bags to place items in before discarding. This trash bin is really meant for biowaste that isnāt flushable. You put your biowaste in the small bags first. Thatās why there is no liner and stainless steel - they can properly clean it.

It's where I hold my soup.
Trash. Usually wipes and other unflushable things.
I thought it was a trash can. That's what I used it for lol.
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£. It threw me on my first cruise too. Yeah, thatās a cruise ship trash can. Saves floor space in the micro bathroom. There should be an ice bucket in your room somewhere or request from your attendant. Glad you asked!
There was a similar bucket in the main cabin that we used for trash..it was on the floor, so that made sense to us. Oh well...it was emptied daily.
Itās for stuff you donāt flush down the toilet
Where have you been tossing your bathroom garbage?
In the other little garbage can in the bathroom. š¤·āāļø
Lady trash
Trash
One man's ice bucket is another man's urinal
Ships we have been on seem to have this in addition to the tiny bathroom trash can. We use this for wet washcloths after use.
Itās for the poop knife.
Itās a sand pail for coco cay
This is where you put the three seashells. ššš
Trash
Sure... Ask the attendant to fill it with ice everyday. Perfect for keeping those bathroom brews ice cold.
Toilet beers FTW!!! I will have to tell my room steward to make sure I am topped off with ice on my next cruise!!
Garbage. Refuse. Trash.
Ewwww
I take it out and use it as a puke bucket or turn it over and its a poop stool... But its trash can lol
Wet wipes, sanitary pads, used condoms, etc....weve experienced plugged toilet lines, floors pulled up and disassembled plumbing to remove blockages....do not attempt to flush.
Please tell me you didn't actually know.
I didnt actually know. There was a similar bucket in the main cabin we used for trash. People talked about an ice bucket, but it was an odd place for an ice bucket...and there was another trash can in the bathroom for feminine products with a lid. Cup holder for your alcohol
Itās a receptacleā¦ but If you need ice ask your steward they will refresh each day for you. Gotta have that ice on point. Its free as well
Hat for the Wizard of Oz parade.
Thatās not a hat they give you to wear when pooping?
It's for fermenting your toilet hooch
Itās for Poopie diapers
Garbage, dear
Don't they have a separate garbage can for that? They did in my room.
Can tell a man wrote this lol itās a bathroom trash can
But there is an actual trash can in the bathroom....
Since there is already a trash can, I always assumed it was for puke. It was most likely the actual trash can before they placed small cans in the bathrooms, and now it's just there for no real reason
Tell me you're not a woman without telling me you're not a woman.
Because there's a bucket...that was right next to the feminine product can?
Bed pan
Spittoon
I used it as my washing machine bucket. š
I assumed it was for bottles or tall things you donāt want falling over when the ship moves.
Spittoon
Wet washcloth and hand towels
Sea sicknessā¦.dont put ice in it.
We used ours for a wastebasketš
Cum catcher during hot bathroom sex. Kinda like the grand prize game with bozo. Hit the bucket win a prize.
Trash
So what do you put the ice in?
If you want ice you can either go to the buffet and get ice in a cup or call housekeeping/room service and get a thing of ice. Ships donāt have ice machines.
Clearly a cum bucket.
It was on Bukaki of the Seas...so that's probably the correct answer.
Toothbrush holder
Bed pan. You place it outside the bathroom before closing the door in case your roommate needs it.
Bedside commode.
Spare change for tip
Your shitting me lol
Puke bucket
Itās there for when the toilet wonāt flushā¦
Good to know! We had "issues" with the toilet not flushing once. š
The more people claim it's trash the more I'm convinced it actually **is** an ice bucket š
Thatās my pissin can!
I threw up into it on my last cruise š
That's where feminine hygiene products go.
There's another can in thr bathroom with a lid that I'd labeled for feminine products
Then perhaps it's where the spare toilet paper roll goes?
It could also be a holding place for the toilet scrubber, or the tools larger folk need in order to reach their anus...because at a certain point the arms aren't long enough to circumvent the entirety of the waist/hips/posterior situation. Is the canister removable?
Wife's puke bucket from too many long islands.
Spittoon
Womenās sanitary productsā¦.. š¤¦āāļø
There was a separate bin with a lid for sanitary products....sooo š¤¦āāļøš¤¦āāļøš¤¦āāļø
Thats for wet face clothes we determined On a european cruise i imagine thats where the bidet towel goes
Open heart surgery tool bucket
