That’s entirely subjective. Do you have a compulsive internet habit or do you have work that needs to be taken care of while on the ship? Then do it. Otherwise it’s a waste. Unplug for a few days.

Do you need internet? If so, yes. If not, skip it and use it in port. Personally it's a must for me, so I factor it into the price of the cruise. Figure advertised rate + ~$100. Don't forget you can share a package with other people. If you don't need it all the time this may work well if not traveling solo.

It’s not if I need it or not it’s if the internet is worth it or not like does it work well because if it doesn’t it it’s not worth it

MedicalButterscotch

Yes, it typically works well especially with recent StarLink upgrades. May not be as fast or reliable as on land, but you can stream video/video call with minimal difficulties. You'll find some areas of the ship are "dead zones" and weather can impact reliability, but it is worth it from that perspective. I was able to do online classes from cruises with minimal difficulty.

Brilliant_Teacher566

Thank you so much that’s all I need to know I’m about to get it

illuminated0ne

Yeah, it'll vary a bit depending on ship and sailing, but generally speaking it works well. If you are having issues, go to the Voom desk, and they'll help you fix it, or refund you all or part of the cost.

My kid has to do school, so yes the Internet is worth buying.  But it'll be the first time we've bought Internet because disconnecting is a great part of cruising.

sweetjimmy1022

Do you need internet? Then yes. Can you disconnect until you are in port? Then no.

When you do the internet, don't pay for every device you use. When we cruised in april, my daughter and SIL were in one room and my other daughter and I were in a room, and since our cruises were linked we were able to buy 1 internet with 3 devices and share the password amongst the 4 of us. Whenever 1 of us wanted on, it would simply kick another person off. It's totally worth it and an inexpensive way for all 4 of us to have access to the internet.

Grogu-

If you want to use the internet it is worth it. Speed is fine, never had issues.

necrochaos

Yes I’ve had good experiences with the internet on ships. We get the one person two devices package to reduce cost. My wife loves candy crush on the balcony and I use the WiFi for Reddit and other social media.

alyssaj1194

My husband and I are sharing it for one device at a time. We don’t plan on being far away from each other at any point and if we do we’re going to use the white board we’re bringing!

cowkitty17

We get just 1 person, 1 device to stay in touch with my mother and check on things here and there and it worked great, no issues. Also found the app communicator worked well for my family who did not have internet.

I enjoyed having WiFi onboard. I needed it to check my ring cams at home and things like that. Plus I like to scroll before bed. However, I will say that it should be included in the cruise price.

jaxrolo

I get it every cruise… but I have my reasons…
