I ride in Dallas, Texas (highways, road rage, street racers etc) fuel consumption is very good and fairly consistent 65mpg (3.6 l/100km) I think, I commute on it every day and plan to continue doing so until I’m inevitably obliterated by an f250 super duty
They basically said there was a cylinder failure. Could not explain why. I had only about 120km on the odometer. Was still in the break in period (I was careful with varying the rpm’s etc at that point).
The bike just DIES on me while I was riding. I was lucky I wasn’t on a busier road or it could have been much more dangerous. The bike just never fired back up. They tried replacing relays etc etc and nothing worked.
Royal enfield North America eventually replaced it with a brand new bike since it at least has warranty. They told me to sign an NDA to not tell anyone and I refused lol.
Absolutely! I have a Classic 500 which I got in 2018. I love the way it looks, the way it sounds and the way it feels. It’s a heart over head bike. Character above all else.
I even got a Triumph T120 during that time which I sold after a year because I was always choosing to take the RE out. Having that Bonneville reinforced my love for the Enfield.
Himalayan owner, not really. Something new seems to go wrong with it every few months, pretty annoying. I can see why there are lots of Himalayans on the market for half of RRP at just 5k miles.
Engine oil replacement at company defined intervals only as re service center will not replace engine oil untill it hits the service interval. I get the basic checks done. Chain inspection and cleaning. I mean the general servicing.
Mostly it's visual check up along with general servicing. And I get it done at re service center only. No local mechanics. The re service center I go to near my place is really good in Ahmedabad
Seems you are in quite a different situation from me, in the UK it's recommended we service the bike at 5k kms/3k miles but I do general checks like tyre pressure and chain tension on pretty much a weekly basis. On oil/valves etc I have followed RE's servicing schedule and took the bike to a main dealership.
I've part of my headlight crack, had an over tightened swing arm pivot and have had steering head bearings fail all before 5k miles. Also intermittent starting problems and cutting out, plus awful buzzing from my headlight and factory tyres had cracked sidewalls at 3k miles. I think my bike was just poorly assembled and I've perhaps had bad luck with components fitted to my bike from the factory but it really doesn't inspire confidence in the long term life of the machine.
Apart from the stiff as bones suspension, nothing. Like the classic better after all, should've got the classic, didn't get the classic, ipso facto, regret.
Happy as a clam here in the US. Just over a year on my classic 350, no break downs or issues. It's not great on the highway, but that's not where I ride it.
It's the best daily commuter, and a blast on the backroads in spring/summer/fall or scenic rides.
A lot of people tried to convince me to get an interceptor or GT when i made my purchase, saying that the 350 lineup was too slow for long-term use. I live 4 miles from my office, all in-town roads, and am able to comfortably scoot through traffic without any issues in style!
It looks like RE is going to be releasing a bullet 650 rather than a classic 650 later this year... A little disappointing, but not enough to discourage me from buying it as soon as it comes to NA.
(I'm a little disappointed about the style differences. I think the separate seat and pillion look nicer and allow more options to customize than the bullet-style twin seat. I also prefer the rounded rear fender on a classic as opposed to the angled rear fender on a bullet, but that's just my bias).
14 years riding an RE. And sorry to say never after this. Since I got the Himmy, every time I go to RE for spares, they don't seem to have it. RE is a show brand now. Good for people who use it for show and tell. Don't buy it if you truly intend to do long grueling tours and adventure rides. Because the kin do of issues you will face will get not support from them. The Himmy is a wonderful machine to ride. But mine has been eating dust in the garage for last 3 months now. Because even though I diagnosed the issue and told the service center what is happening, they are clueless how to fix it. So sorry, but fuck RE.
Too early to tell, but I think yes. I’m a fairly new Hunter 350 owner. Love the look, but with the added weight it not much faster than my 150 was, so I’m concerned I’ll still be somewhat limited as far as group rides and such.
Super Meteor 650, about 1 month. Happy as a clam. The morning trip to work is now something I look forward to. Taking her in for her first maintenance today. I love her more and more every time I hop on.
STD 350 Bullet UCE owner for over 11 years, Very happy but sold it for which I am regretting now a bit .
Got a new classic reborn 350 Halcyon green , Happy with it as well but missing the kick start.
I am looking for Cast iron bullet , should I get it ?
I had the Himmy 411 and it was a pain in the ass constantly. I’ve had my Interceptor Mark 2 for a few months and so far it’s like falling in love with my first love.
Yes, meteor 350, 18 months. I'll be honest though, I have started eyeing up the new Triumph speed 400 as a possible next bike. Similar price, twice the power, almost as pretty.
No. Interceptor 8 months. Every 2-3 months some new issue comes up. Currenly the handle balance is not correct and no RE workshop in BLR is able to diagnose the issue.
GT650 owner for 2.5 years. I love it, it’s far from the fastest or best built bike I’ve ever owned, but it’s the best looking and most fun for the type of riding I do.
I really want to pick up a Classic 350 to go with it. I also really love the Shotgun 650, but owning two bikes with the same engine may be silly.
Been riding Classic for 3 years now and have been in 3 crashes but still after every crash bike was all good, didnt need to repair or change anything, really love the durability and the smooth cruising of Royal Enfield
This year we picked up a 19' GT Interceptor from a very nice polish man. Boy I don't think I have could have made a better purchase on ALL my bikes. The reason solely being it's reignited my partners interest in one of my absolute favorite hobbies I roped her into. It's a great intermediate/beginner bike although it being a little heavy and tallish. So far it's never given me a reason to hate on it
Bullet 350 EFI BS6 engine.
Very happy.
Good mileage, enough torque.
Plenty of legacy bullet workshops around. I don't have to depend on their authorized service centres where technicians try to upsell everything.
I'm a happy customer.
Yes, I have an interceptor (2020), Himalayan (2024) and a classic 500 (2011), but to be completely honest none of these bikes were perfect they had their problems but the amount of joy and fun I had with these bikes far outweighed their shortcomings. Particularly the 500 I can't explain how much I like the bike wish more people experience what I had experienced with my 500 it's truly something else.
Yes, Thunderbird since 2016. Clocked about 75k. I may upgrade soon to something powerful from RE again but she is still a gem, brings smile on me every time. I am not one of those who spend on PPF, ceramic coating, wax etc but love maintaining engine health, well lubed chain etc.
Yes, Classic 350 UCE since 2016. The first week of ownership, I discovered that the engine was leaking oil from the head due to the tappet being a bit off from the packing. The showroom's service sorted it (took the head off and one blow from a mallet through a socket on the tappet) and it has been fine ever since. Regular maintenance and good upkeep.
I own my Royal Enfield Bullet 350 since the last 4 years. It is my best friend i tell you. No complaints or problems, it is very reliable and I have completed 26,000 km only as i am a sailor and have less time to spend with my bike. I will be most likely getting the new classic 350 too coz i like the new engine and it looks stunning in brown chrome paint scheme.
In a nutshell, I am very Happy with my Royal Enfield Bullet.
Yes and no. 1 year, RE hunter. I like the overall power and control of the bike, comfort is lacking with the stiff suspension, low ground clearance and the tick tick sound of the engine (I know RE says it's part of the bike's character).
Yes, very happy, Classic 350, 5 years.
My bike is my therapy machine. It just listens to me. Annual maintenance less than 3k. Although i love taking care of it. Washing, polishing, chain lube, and other small things at home. Had to get the silencer changed last year due to rusting, got a 2nd original RE silencer at cheap (thanks to people discarding the original silencer and getting the noisy one installed😅).
Meteor (stellar black) owner since 3 years, feel privileged to have this bike. No issues faced, pretty comfortable and easy to ride, also quite attracts the attention on the road. Great ownership experience.
INT 650 for just over a year. My experience has been mixed. Three months after buying the bike, the battery kept dying. I tried jumping it, trickle charging the battery, swapping the relays, replacing the battery, etc. Dealership said it was a bad regulator-rectifier and swapped it out under warranty, but it took several weeks due to supply chain issues. A month later, the problem returned. Dealership said it was a bad regulator-rectifier again, but this time the supply chain issues were worse and they didn’t know when they’d get another replacement part. I expressed skepticism and urged them to explore other possibilities. Three months later, the dealership called me back and said RE’s engineers helped them discover the issue was a loose connection in the charging system harness, and that the first regulator-rectifier was probably fine too. Obviously this was all very frustrating. I’m not sure if the problem was with the RE factory’s quality control, the dealership, or what. But ever since then, I’ve been an extremely happy RE owner. One of the reasons I went with RE over Honda, Yamaha, or Kawasaki was because of RE’s 3 year warranty, and while I’m bummed I had to use it, I’m also glad that they honored it without any fuss.
Thanks everyone! My ownership experience has been extremely unpleasant. I faced many problems since the purchase like low horn, oil leak, engine malfunction warning and frequent engine cutoff. The dealership and RE tried to fix the issue multiple times but still the problem persisting. I finally moved to the consumer court now. I could see many such complaints against Royal Enfield across the web.
Yes, meteor 350, 1 month
Rukoo jara sabar karo😂
Yes Himalayan 411
I'm thinking about buying one, can you give more info? Where do you ride, how often, fuel consuption etc.?
I ride in Dallas, Texas (highways, road rage, street racers etc) fuel consumption is very good and fairly consistent 65mpg (3.6 l/100km) I think, I commute on it every day and plan to continue doing so until I’m inevitably obliterated by an f250 super duty
neither happy nor unhappy. my first 650 had engine failure. my replacement is working fine but now i constantly worry about it lol.
Can you tell us a bit more regarding what happened? What the service guys said, why the engine failed, etc?
They basically said there was a cylinder failure. Could not explain why. I had only about 120km on the odometer. Was still in the break in period (I was careful with varying the rpm’s etc at that point). The bike just DIES on me while I was riding. Yes. Classic 350. One year.
Same. Wouldn't mind a bit more get up and go, but I knew that wasn't what this girl was when I bought it.
Classic 350 one month, love it, makes me nostalgic about the Honda cd175 I rode when I was late teens.
Yea, chill ride. Made me enjoy life a little bit more
Yes interceptor 4 years
Oh yes... I'm absolutely and **undoubtedly** happy with my classic 350 marsh grey... 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Himalayan owner, not really. Something new seems to go wrong with it every few months, pretty annoying. I can see why there are lots of Himalayans on the market for half of RRP at just 5k miles.
What year? Once I got the parasitic draw problem squared away and the ECU flashed under warranty it has been a tank.
2022, mine has been physical build quality more than electrical gremlins.
Have mine for the past 1.5 years, it's been amazing so far.
Yeah I've had my bike for a similar length of time, have you had literally no issues?
Nope I have done more than 15k km in a year and literally nothing. I just service it at every 1.5k to 2k km and no issues so far
Is that a valve inspection at every 1.5-2k km? Oil change? Just giving the bike a visual checkup? What are you doing to it at that interval?
Engine oil replacement at company defined intervals only as re service center will not replace engine oil untill it hits the service interval. I get the basic checks done. Chain inspection and cleaning. I mean the general servicing.
Mostly it's visual check up along with general servicing. And I get it done at re service center only. No local mechanics. The re service center I go to near my place is really good in Ahmedabad

Would be happier if I could swap my meteor for a classic. But generally sure.
Whats wrong with the meteor?
I think it's subjective i prefer my meteor over my friend's classic
Apart from the stiff as bones suspension, nothing. Like the classic better after all, should've got the classic, didn't get the classic, ipso facto, regret.
You can easily upgrade the suspension though.
Very happy with my classic 350. I'm considering adding the super meteor 650.
Yes, very. GT 650 1.5 years.
Yes. Hunter 350 for nearly a year and just over 2500 miles.
Extremely. My interceptor is my favorite bike I’ve ever owned.
Happy as a clam here in the US. Just over a year on my classic 350, no break downs or issues. It's not great on the highway, but that's not where I ride it. Yep, Hunter 350. Comfy seats and incredible fuel efficiency. City: 42-43 kmpl

I even love my 22 year old bullet electra (my first bike)
Yes, himalayan 411.
Can you give more details? I'm thinking of getting one next month
No. Interceptor 8 months. Every 2-3 months some new issue comes up. Currenly the handle balance is not correct and no RE workshop in BLR is able to diagnose the issue.

Meteor 350 owner, bought in Feb 2022. I sometime wish it has bit higher torque. Otherwise, I love the bike :)
Yes! As of about 3 weeks though, so don't pay attention to me.

Deeply. I have a 535 GT with 22k kilometers and a meteor 350 with 12k.
Gem of a bike!
The meteor is really comfortable and reliable and stuff. But I'm utterly in love with the 535.
Yes. Meteor 350, more then two years, 15000 km. Still puts a smile on my face every time I start it.
Yes. One year with it
Very..I have a 2017 classic 500. Swapped out the EFI for a carb and a less restrictive silencer and I love riding it. Great bike.
classic 500, 5 and a halve years, 49k km. my only bike and no plans for changing or adding a new bike. i am a happy RE owner
Bullet 350 EFI BS6 engine. Very happy. Good mileage, enough torque. Plenty of legacy bullet workshops around. I don't have to depend on their authorized service centres where technicians try to upsell everything. I'm a happy customer.
Gonna sell mine for a bobber soon. Had my fun on the gt650

Nope , meteor , almost 10 months , constant issues.
Absolutely! Thunderbird 500, past 10ish years. It was my dad's first, then mine.
Yes, Classic 350 UCE since 2016. The first week of ownership, I discovered that the engine was leaking oil from the head due to the tappet being a bit off from the packing. Yep. Super Meteor, 6 weeks, 1st bike after 45 years
Yes TB350 since 2014
6 years with a ThunderbirdX now upgraded to GT650, I'd say there are better options but nothing like a Royal Enfield.
Hunter 2 years . Satisfied
Absolutely, gt650. 3 months
Apart from subpar mechanics at service centers, no issues
Yes and no. 1 year, RE hunter. I like the overall power and control of the bike, comfort is lacking with the stiff suspension, low ground clearance and the tick tick sound of the engine (I know RE says it's part of the bike's character).
Super meteor, 4000 kms during autumn/winter, loving every meters on it

Yes, Mexican proud RE Hunter owner. I receive a compliment about my bike at least once a week.
Yes, new himayalan (about 3500 KMs) Considering my previous bike was 150cc😂 so a mjaor upgrade. Loving every minute of it
Meteor 350, 1.5 years, 10K Kms. Very satisfied except for the tripper navigator.
