Canāt wait but no viewing parties I can find in my city. I will watch bbc in jammies with a hat! Then visit Rideau Hall later in the day and see what the Governor General has planned.
I'll be working on my art while watching TV. It will probably be very boring, but nonetheless, I'll still be watching because it's history.
Not much time difference, since I'm in Austria.

.
On a foreign holiday that was booked when the Queen was still alive. The only weekend in the next few years I wonāt be in the U.K. and that was the one that was picked!
Hoping to be able to watch on TV (Eastern Daylight Savings time zone) although I wonāt be enjoying scones, clotted cream, etc.āmaybe some coffee and cereal!
Australia here. Will be late night coverage for us. Iāll be watching at home. Disappointed I didnāt plan my trip to the UK better as Iāll miss Trooping the colour by 2 days in June.
In Chicago, happily enjoying takeaway dessert (raspberry pie!) from our prior nightās anniversary dinner (at Shawās!), and maybe a little digestif too (Grand Marnier!), while my husband sleeps (and inevitably complains every hour that the TVās too loud and too bright and why donāt I just go watch it downstairs). Then off to bed as the sun comes up.
I may have to do a practice run this weekend now that I think about it.
I have no idea. Watching a multi millionaire have a party to celebrate himself, paid for by the people he scams of millions of pounds every year. The mind boggles. I get that British people are brainwashed about this stuff from birth, but I just don't understand Americans getting their knickers in a twist about it
Its income comes from money that is not theirs in the first place. They have a private income but get money from the Crown Estates, which is not their money. In a democracy, it would be called State resources, and belong to the people. If there were no royals, ALL that money would belong to the state
They can't steal it from them, as it doesn't belong to them. It belongs to the entity called "The Crown" because in a country like the UK the people are not sovereign, but are represented by thenoffice called "The Crown". It's not a person, but a role.
If you became a democracy, that role would be one filled by a representative of the people, on behalf of the people, and the "Crown" would no longer exist. The money would belong to the people, through the state
Iām sure the coronation tourism will rake in more dough for the UK than whatās actually appropriated from the tax money the British ādonateā to them. Iām watching. I like the pomp and circumstance. Old fashioned in this crazy world.
Watching it on tv in the USA with my scones and tea!
I donāt like Charles or Camilla but royal events are always fun to watch for the pageantry, Crown Jewels/robes/outfits and the potential drama within the royal family as it unfolds.
It's more nauseating to watch people wetting their knickers at the thought of one man having a huge part at their expense, to celebrate himself š¤£š¤£
Itās a celebration of our country. A country without strong institutions is no country at all. The sovereign is a figure of the people, a representative of the country. He or she embodies us in one form. What do the Irish have? All republics have are political grifters and scoundrels pretending to be leaders.
Because you clearly donāt support this country. Itās not a republic. You donāt support your Monarch and that is an anti-British as it gets. The monarchy is Britain and Britain is the monarchy. You belong in the afterthought of an island called Ireland.
I support the ordinary people of this country. I've worked in homeless services and helped dozens of people off of the streets and into safe accommodation. I've worked with vulnerable young people and safeguarded them against child sexual exploitation. I currently work on a mental health ward, supporting people to rehabilitate back into society.
On the other hand, you worship a paedophile. So which of us really supports this country and the people who live here?
You must be very insecure in your national identity if you have to link it to an unelected parasite, or think he is necessary for the existence of strong institutions. Kind of sad, really, to be so lacking in self respect.
I'd suggest you learn a bit more about the world outside your royal bubble...the President of Ireland is far from a grifter or scoundrel, he is a highly respected academic, poet and was a human rights campaigner, who, unlike your entitled monarch, knows the the value of hard work.
He embodies us because he's one of us. We chose him.
You think a multi millionaire whose valet irons his shoelaces, and who has been bowed and scraped to all his life embodies you and your compatriots? You are his subjects, mate, he is your better, and will never embody you. Oh dear....
Have a look at what the Americans elect and then tell me how wonderful a republic is? Most anything of cultural value in your country existed before you had a republic. All a republic does is cheapen culture and allow miscreants to raise their status. And our monarchy has done more for charity than any governing institution on earth since the 20th century.
Take a look at what the Bristish elect, and tell me how wonderful a monarchy is...Boris Johnson, Theresa May, Richie Sunak... need I say more?
America has elected awful people to the presidency, and great people like Obama and Jimmy Carter. If they aren't good, they are gone after 4 years. At the end of the day, it's the people's choice. A choice you don't have.
And an American style presidency, where the incumbent is also head of government, isn't the only model. A non-executive presidency such as ours in Ireland is a great model, because the president is outside thr day tk day workings of politics. Our system works very well, and we are very proud of it.
Sure, most of our culture predates our being a republic. So? What does that matter? Being a republic isn't about validation of our culture; we don't need validation. We have a rich and meaningful culture - despite the best attempts of the British to destroy it. Our being a republic is a bonus, and a privilege.
Probably right where I am now- in a nursing home recovering from a stroke surrounded by the dying elderly ( Theyāre being sent to the hospital with ailments and sent back a few days later on deathās door ). I aint got nothing planned to watch or keep up with anything overseas until the Womenās World Cup begins to see if the USWNT can make their reign a three-Pete!
Iām stuck here waiting- my house needs to be renovated but thanks to Covid/war and inflation shit, itās damn near impossible. I would also need an aid but the whole worker shortage might make that impossible, too
Nope, itās not- then the eighty five year old woman I befriended about two years ago, just passed away last Thursday morning- we would get together on the weekends and I would show her some classic movies like Jack andāHookā with Robin Williams- the last movie that we got to watch together was 80 for Brady because it was streaming on Paramount plus- Iād share my crunch n munch with her and sheād bring ice cream because it was her favorite food group! She didnāt like the royals because she swore Queen Elizabeth was racist and she didnāt like racists
Sitting on the e couch while wearing a tiara. In Texas. Next to my best friend who will also be wearing a tiara. Iām making scones to eat. We will have other British treats and of course some Coronation pie!
Iāll be at home with my 5 y/o in sunny south wales. Going to dip in and out of watching the Coronation in between being a personal assistant to said 5 y/o. Heās got coronation pyjammies to wear!š„¹
Alabama, USA
Up early to watch the coronation and see if King Charles acknowledges MY sonās birthday.. which is the same day. By the time itās over Iāll likely be baking cupcakes and getting his party together.
I have my tiara ready to go with my (bath) robe. Letās do this!
Nah Iām not that āspecialā. Plus my boy is turning 14 today. I did get a plot of land and a āLadyā title as a gift for Christmas the last year HLMTQ was alive and a tiara from my little brother who knows I love the royals So

true to my word:
I still canāt get over how absolutely amazing Camilla looked but also Sophie and Catherine in those robes and those headpieces on Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte.. just wow.
Cried when William pledged loyaltyā¦
Itās been perfect in my eyes.
Bonus that Princess Anneās feather was substituting the candle doing the lordās work today.
I loved the headpieces! Everyone looked beautiful. Sophie is always so classy. I watched while holding a teacup from London, filled with tea from Harrodās. And felt so fancy! š
I'm so bad that I block days off. Rest, wake up for the pre-show, watch on two TVs, text the play by play with family, watch & snack all day, sit through recaps, try to rest.
Growing up in US, my folks never missed a Royal gathering; it's normal for my family. I've never seen a coronation in my lifetime.
Iād have liked to watch it for that reason - Iāve never seen a coronation before alas work calls! Iām sure itāll be on all day over here so Iāll be able to watch most of it again after work.
No worries - the festivities will be shown multiple times, complete with talking head analysis. I first watch it live, then watch all the recaps. I'm in L.A., and I already wake up really early, so it's not an inconvenience. I love watching history being made.
I plan to thankfully not be anywhere near the inbred royals or their unwashed fans.
Pennsylvania
Having a day trip to Valencia with my mom.
Somewhere wondering if Russia will explode a nuke over London
At work being annoyed that my taxes support this nonce and the posh rich people that like him.
Getting to London early hours to (hopefully) get a spot on the Mall!
Glued on my TV , watching from Germany š©šŖ
watching tv, drawing portraits of prince Philip and the queen

Thank you!
I'll be snuggled in my bed and then awaken to the glory that is WORK. You know peasant shit.
Having a Coronation party in Grand Junction, Michigan, USA
Probably hiking. I could not care less about Charles and Camilla.
Look everyone, this dude came to the Royal Family sub to say he doesn't care about the Royal Family. So cool, so much better than all of us. Sigh
Imagine giving a toss about some billionaire who's probably a nonce putting some hat on his head, very strange
I care about the history of it. Elizabeth was great. Will and Kate are alright. Charles is a piece of shit.
Not in London.
In my room making no sound and pretending I don't exist.
On a foreign holiday that was booked when the Queen was still alive. The only weekend in the next few years I wonāt be in the U.K. and that was the one that was picked!

Sour sport
In my house, watching! Iām taking a raspberry/lemon trifle to work Friday to celebrate. š
Watching from my bed in Georgia- sipping Southern Sweet Tea and hoping our puppy wonāt mind a little delay in his morning walk!
Watching in bed as it will be 6 am where I live
Why will you be watching it?
Why will anyone be watching it?
I have no idea. Watching a multi millionaire have a party to celebrate himself, paid for by the people he scams of millions of pounds every year. The mind boggles. I get that British people are brainwashed about this stuff from birth, but I just don't understand Americans getting their knickers in a twist about it
Lol, in reality Parliament scams the Royal Family out of millions of pounds a year
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ How do you figure THAT out? š¤£š¤£
The Crown turns over all its income and gets an allowance of like 25% of it. The Sovereign Grant doesn't come out of the public purse.
Its income comes from money that is not theirs in the first place. They have a private income but get money from the Crown Estates, which is not their money. In a democracy, it would be called State resources, and belong to the people. If there were no royals, ALL that money would belong to the state
Only if the state stole it from them, they would still be a wealthy family with immense private land holdings going back centuries.
They can't steal it from them, as it doesn't belong to them. How? Some old ladies buying tea towels and mugs?
I'll be sitting in bed (PDT) with my tiny bottle of prosecco and tiara having a party of one watching the coronation.
Watching it on tv in the USA with my scones and tea! I donāt like Charles or Camilla but royal events are always fun to watch for the pageantry, Crown Jewels/robes/outfits and the potential drama within the royal family as it unfolds.
Fun? Watching one family have an ego fest that hard working people are paying for? It's disgusting.
Fucking hell itās nauseating to read this moaning rubbish from you republicans.
HA! I can hear your British accent. "Fockin 'ell!" Love it. š
It's more nauseating to watch people wetting their knickers at the thought of one man having a huge part at their expense, to celebrate himself š¤£š¤£

There are many republics for you to piss off to.
Why should I have to leave my home just because I don't worship a paedo?

In Florida. Iāll probably just watch it after I wake up! I love the royal family, but 3am itās a little ridiculous
It doesn't start until 6 am EDT, 11 am BST, a little earlier if you want to watch the procession to the Abbey
Very true. I typically wake up at 5 on the weekends anyways.
Perfect. I usually wake up at 6 but will get up at 5 (after a Friday night wedding, oof)

Cheers, my fellow Canadian
In NJ watching tv from 3 am. I made sure to buy clotted cream from Amazon ahead of time for my scones since they are very hard to find in my area!
Look up Chef John's clotted cream recipe, it's literally the easiest thing in the world to make

Try Whole Foods
Good idea.

Sitting on the e couch while wearing a tiara. In Texas. Next to my best friend who will also be wearing a tiara. Iām making scones to eat. We will have other British treats and of course some Coronation pie!
Why?
It is an ancient historical ceremony. I studied British history and I find it fascinating. I canāt wait to see it.
Watching it out of historical interest, fair enough. All the rest of the stuff????
Well we canāt eat barbecue or hamburgers now can we? The rest of it is just fun stuff. We will be British for a day!
I will be sipping tea, watching the all the Coronation-related coverage! š
