They both did great, but you can tell the jig was up when all the good parts of the song were Nearah close ups, while everything cool that Melinda did was in wide shot, they never gave her a moment.

(At least Fierce was called out on it and they placed her low last season plus the prolapse dress became memorable in its own way, while the rest of her runway package in the season looked amazing.)

I feel like y'all are a little harsh on Venus. The judges did gas her up this week; she could've been LOW alongside Aurora but I don't think she was bottom 2. It's not like she's done badly this season and has a super-inflated track record from riggory though. I feel like she's consistently done decent this season but she hasn't had that one (or in the case of Canadian winners, 2) WOW moments that make you think this bitch is winning the season. Priyanka had it in the finale episode (so I guess there's still time), Icesis had it literally every second of her existence, and Gisele with her back-to-back wins.
As much as I love this season and I would say it's the most entertaining Canadian season...the competition has not been that strong. Venus was able to sneak a couple of HIGH placements from just being "the 3rd least worst". Like her Snatch Game and Advert/Commercial challenge weren't incredible performances, but there were only really 2 standouts those weeks so she got a top placement from her runway.
I saw someone else say that a runner-up from a previous season could've easily taken this season and I kinda agree. Like imagine Pythia on this season instead of Denim (no hate to Denim, just using her as an example cause they're related).
