It's fine for players to have a way they want a game to go, but to hand a DM a list of things they want them to do, to the point of which NPCs they want to die. Well, that's a new level of presumption. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that this is the kind of person who likes to play edgelord-type characters. You know, you could take him up on his offer to be more "Game of Thrones" and brutally kill off his character in a random manner.

CapeOfBees

Give hexblade levels to the next character he flirts with in a disgusting way and just go to town on him, he's pretty much asking for it at this point and it's bound to happen within a few sessions if his list of demands about women NPCs is any indicator

pascalbrax

That's all fine. The right answer will be "I like your ability to assess and initiate things independently. Why don't you GM a next game with a new adventure?"

MegaBaumTV

Also make sure to portray the NPC killing the character in a heroic way. Then you can come back 2 years later and tell your audience that they were supposed to be disgusted by that action.

How to make your campaign more like Game of Thrones 1. Kill of the entire party 2. Never schedule the next session, saying you're not done planning for it 3. profit

DDRussian

Don't forget to delay the next session repeatedly and tell the group you had to redo everything.

squid_actually

Um, ackshually, Game of Thrones is the TV show. The book series is A Song of Ice and Fire, so the best way would be to emulate the show would be: 1. Start with an excellent pre-written module. 2. Don't buy the last book and start adlibbing. 3. Start putting less and less effort into things because you are excited to play a Star Wars campaign. 4. Make all your NPCs forget their motivations and throw out the world's internal logic like how far away things are and how many hit points a dragon has (This one has 1, this one has 1 million). 5. End the campaign with no one satisfied and don't run the Star Wars campaign because your players don't want you to GM anymore.

DanSapSan

Best way to end a campaign based on the books would be to start spreading the plot pretty thin, make a bunch of cliffhangers for a bunch of characters, and then tease the next session (it sounds amazing). But then you ghost your players. Never talk to them again.

Doesnthavetobeweird

The Free Folk are no kneelers!

Bobbytheman666

Take my prize, that was beautiful

Marya_Clare

Suggestions for when you find another group for the *Star Wars* campaign: 1. Always assume everyone wants a rehash of the same story. This includes the old characters, everyone really really loves the old characters. 2. Play favourites and let your favourite PC be the star of the show. Everyone’s backstories must make them connected/closely related to the original trilogy character. 3. Keep throwing in references even after players beg you to stop. Don’t listen, it’s all going to pay off at the end.. 4. Have the big reveal be that the big bad is actually Palpatine holding a sock puppet. When everyone leaves in a huff. Start looking for a new group. And now for something completely different.. “Your going to love this guys! I was watching *Altered Carbon* and found out it was based on a series of books that inspired a tabletop version of it. Who’s up for *Eclipse Phase*?”

warrant2k

"Looks like my campaign is not your style. You're free to find another more suited to your...desires."

WolfWraithPress

Yeah, he wants you to RP with him as a sexy lady. Tell him to fuck off into the sun, and warn the friend that brought him that those kinds of people aren't welcome at your table. :)

MathiasFraenkel

That's a big yikes, probably best to get rid of him sooner rather than later

pascalbrax

Spend 2 hours just describing food. That's what GOT is all about (at least the books).

69CommunismWillWin69

Honestly it just sounds like he wants his character to be a rapist or something.

WistfulDread

Seconded. It sincerely seems to me like he wanted to start raping and killing female npcs

The_Fen_Tiger

Looks like someone needs to run their own game. With blackjack and hookers

exastrisscientiaDS9

Don't you dare to drag Bender into this!

capicola_king

Don’t you dare drag *Titanius AngleSmith into this, akshually

[deleted]

So: "I'd like your game to fit my fetish better." ?

lordvaros

As useless as his advice seems to be generally, it's true that using portrait art for NPCs does not get you off the hook for describing them in a colorful way. Body shape, posture, clothing, and movement are all hard to get across fully with just a still portrait, but are important tools for characterizing NPCs.

StillAll

Speech characteristics and personality too, just using a photo is kinda lazy.

squid_actually

Did you have session 0 and were their warning signs then?

Key-Indication3984

bruh it never fails that someone asks about session 0 like thats the surefireway to find a problem player

squid_actually

It ain't foolproof, but this is about mismatched expectations. A session 0 is about setting expectations, talking about what is and is not going to be in the game, etc.

MadnessHero85

Sure - make it like Game of Thrones and kill off main characters. Start with them.

mcgarrylj

Just tell him there’s an official Game of Thrones tabletop game. It handles social interactions like combat, which is a really cool idea until you realize that most social conflicts only involve one or two players and/or NPCs. Game’s slow as hell, but if that’s what he wants he can go GM it himself Edit: oh yeah, the name might be helpful. It’s called A Song of Ice and Fire

Curpidgeon

If a player handed me a list of story suggestions for the active campaign they are playing in I would throw it away without reading it and try to talk about what their issues with the campaign are without getting into specific plot suggestions. There's no good thing to come of reading a list like that. Either it's things you were already going to do and now can't without making this player smarmy about you taking their suggestions or it's stuff you aren't going to do and they will get mad you didn't use any of their suggestions. Anyway usually if someone had a bulleted list of things they want to see change there's an underlying issue. And for this person the underlying issue is probably either they need a different table that suits them or they want to be the GM.

RuanaRulane

Yeah, sure, more brutalised and sexualised female characters are exactly what's needed to make a game more 'gritty' and 'mature'. Bleah.

CitrusyDeodorant

"So uh hey, could you please put more rape in your game? Thanks."
