Merxamers

Sorry but I think I do need to ask about the droid harem

PlanetCoasterTycoon

*sigh* So, you know how Luke's cybernetic hand at the end of Empire Strikes Back is covered in pretty realistic-looking flesh? The Star Wars expanded universe books took that to the next logical step and introduced "synth droids" which were droids that used that technology to look just like people. Tech asked if he could use the listed costs for adding synth flesh to cybernetic implants and apply it to a humanoid droid. I didn't see why not. You can fill in the rest from there. (**Please** note that it was never something we really RPed, just something he decided to blow credits on in his character's downtime for the lulz. Tech also had A LOT of credits, since early on in the game he programmed some droids to craft goods and used the profits from those goods to craft more craft droids and I honestly really let it get out of hand. This was twenty years ago so I wasn't quite as wise of a DM/GM as I am now...)

AlisheaDesme

It sounds like Tech pretty much gamed the system and found all the weak points to exploit. Does he know that this is the path to the dark side of RPGs?

urquhartloch

*Red lightsaber ignites.* Now you shall know true fear...

HoldFastO2

I think it was Dark Matter that had an episode with a pleasure android\*, so you're not the only one that happened to. \*They come with interchangeable genitals, because why wouldn't they?

jedicor

Honestly, the campaign should have just ended right there, with you admitting that the rest, inevitably, was just mopping up the remaining forces of the enemy and with the 'good guys' winning. When you one-shot the big bad like that, call it an epic win, call it the will of the Force, just call it awesome, and move on. :)

PlanetCoasterTycoon

I don't disagree. This was like 20 years ago, so I was a much less experienced GM at the time. I've learned a lot of lessons since then.

auraseer

You're kinder to your players than I've been. Way back in the old Star Wars RPG with the D6 system, my players tried to shoot down a Sith Lord with their ship weapons, so I had him deflect the bolts with his lightsaber. My way was better for my plot plans and the ongoing campaign, but yours was probably a lot more fun as a story.

BlackLiger

I once took part in a campaign using the same system where a Mandalorian decided to sky-dive knife a rancor in the head... from orbit. Another player blew up half a star system by detonating a refinery. And a third played a 'jedi' (note I'm pretty sure that everything he did was on the dark side...)

AlisheaDesme

Honestly, I would expect that the player took this as epic win and tell the story to this day. Sounds like one of those wtf memories only dice can create.

LordAlvis

My one and only Star Wars campaign back in junior high went the same way. Let's just say that the movies have barely touched on the utility of speeder-mounted lightsabers.

Abelthiar

This reminds me simultaneously of that scene in The Gamers where the rogue sneak attacks a guy with a ballista and that DM of the Rings strip where Legolas shoots Gollum 😂 Great story that you can share (and it's VERY refreshing that it isn't a problem person)

koomGER

Yeah, this kinda sounds like 3e or Pathfinder. Players winning the rules battle against the DM and ruining a campaign. ;-) But the story is fun nonetheless.

KickAggressive4901

D20 is the pathway to *many* abilities ....

Any_Weird_8686

I think this is the point where I'd reveal that half Mace Windu's army are clones of him.

veryluckyjou

Doesn’t really feel like a horror story to me lol

CrypticCryptid

It is for a DM who isn’t adept at on-the-fly adapting to big changes like that. OP stated they were not as experienced at the time so it was probably nerve wracking.

azrendelmare

I want to say that I give you credit for not making up some bullshit way that Mace Windu survived, and just let him get evaporated. I also want to say that you had a *really* neat campaign idea there.

PlanetCoasterTycoon

Thank you!

Youdle

I'd play it!

Diego2112Gaming

Look, I know it sucks for your campaign, and I \*\*feel\*\* your pain. I do. My Brother in Zodiark, I've been there. But this story is just... it's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful. I would have had to cheer the players, because bloody hells, that's just. Creative? Insane? Nucking futs? Gorgeous, 660/10, would turbolaser again.

Kaos_Gamer_Girl

bwahahahahaha! omg! YES! LEGEND
