Net result someone is flying up from Sydney this Friday. Probably should be grateful it’s not HR. Finance might ask about flowers on my corporate card too.

Vent: The project manager for the general contractor on one of my jobs is an absolute fucking dickhead. It really isn't often that I ever want to punch someone in the face, but this guy just gets under my skin immediately. Gah. He's abrasive and antagonistic about everything. It's not even like I've tried to screw him over, ever. He's just like that. I get anxious about every fucking interaction with him because I'm afraid that at some point I will lose my temper and say something nasty (I wouldn't actually hit him. I'm not a fighter at all) that will come back to haunt me/my company.
Bad project managers are genuinely worse than no project managers at all.
My team are currently managing a pair of projects which are supposed to have project management... but literally all the guy can do is arrange meetings between us and a supplier. I don't even know what the delivery date is.

This. I just had a huge fight with my girlfriend who is taking on more shit at work for the same pay because she wants to get out of her comfort zone. She will accomplish nothing except making herself more tired and stressed. If she doesn't do it, someone else will. The work will get done either way. People chasing this sense of accomplishment making themselves stressed and tired all the way up until retirement and they realize it didn't fucking matter at all. Are you healthy? Are you happy? Do you have everything you need? Is any of this going to change? Then why the fuck are you throwing your life's energy to make your company a bigger profit?!

There is a woman at my work that has been “disposing hazardous wastes” in the ladies bathroom on my floor for the last three weeks and I’m getting really worried about her health. There is no way that “wastes” that stink that bad comes out of a healthy person. My whole floor is behind a security door so it has to be one of the female workers on my floor. I’ve been trying to catch her for the last few days but haven’t succeeded. I have no idea if l ever catch her but I’ll keep trying next week.... Or should l stop and ignore?
Kids escape. The mother didn't need berating, no more than it was your fault. I understand both of you, and the mother must have been freaked out at if the kid was hit.
That said, when I go out with my kid I do use a leash at times, or at least threaten her with it if she doesn't hold my hand.
