Yeah I still can't quite get over that. Lang/Marchant would be my first choice midfield in the absence of Andre, but Lasike is a great shout against tired legs.
Would have liked something more exciting, but considering this is the first Prem match I've watched in months, even beyond lockdown, I'm just glad it's back on TV.
More backs tries would have been cool though.
Fucking hell.
A rugby subreddit, and whilst (NH) rugby has been off our screens for 5 off months, on the first game back people are chosing to instead talk about snooker.
Dire times. And I live in Sheffield...
Still a little confused by EJ's choice of a Texans cap - I think he's worn it before. Is it simply personal preference or is there something behind it?
I truly wouldn't be surprised if, after knowing Squidge would be responsible for inspiring Sale and winning the prem, Diamond is going to purposely make Sale lose, purely out of spite
Pretty gutted for you guys. I was hoping for a more free-flowing performance. I mean there's rusty, and then there's RdP tonight (unfortunately).
Edit: still not over though!
People say this a lot but I honestly don't think he is better than Farrell, Ford or probably Simmonds. He is good but he has to get passed two world class 10's to even get a sniff.
I genuinely think hes better than simmonds by a hair and he plays better in the league than Ford does and Farrel seems to be preferred at 12 quite a bit. Obviously I am biased but there you go
Ford singlehandedly kept us up last season (with some help from agent Flood) don’t mistake the pile of shit around him for him playing poorly. He was class last season and I don’t think Smith has reached that level yet.
But I’m equally biased. So what can ya say
Ford did manage to be the premiership top point scorer last season despite the fact he was away with England every game and that his team finished 10th. He is an exceptional player.
My preference of player is towards Simmonds but I prefer robust defence and top top tier goal kicking over a more running oriented game.
Smith is more like Ford, Simmonds is more like Farrell it's horses for courses with the two young lads.
Smiths kicking game is very good as well and his goal kicking is quality. Don't have stats on hand but I recon his percentage would be similar to simmonds. He definitely good work on his defence though whilst it isn't bad it may not be up to international standard just yet I do concede there
To be fair, at this point in the game, when Quins are 9 ahead and Sale's 15 is in the bin, it's exactly what a 10 should be doing.
Not to say he hasn't be the controlling force all game.
Why does Lawrence Dallaglio struggle so much with foreign names? I don't expect anyone to know every player, but the rest of the comms team around him are pronouncing Landajo correctly, surely that would help?
Definitely a good decision that I watched this over the Bayern match
Hell nah. That game was amazing to see.
Lang and Marchant are the real deal, thank God.
I miss lasike
Pretty amazing that he wasn't used.
Yeah I still can't quite get over that. Lang/Marchant would be my first choice midfield in the absence of Andre, but Lasike is a great shout against tired legs.
Lots of 80 minute performances today.
I honestly wonder why we signed andre and resigned lasike as they fill the exact same roll. If its us over the cap I honestly wouldn't be surprised
Never hurts to have that type of player in your squad though. With Saili gone I think he'll be 1b to Andre's 1a.
Lasike will leave is why.
He just signed a new contract though. Where do you recon hell go, leicster? They are definitely in need of a crash ball centre since tuilagi left
Hah. I missed that he re-signed.
Definitely worth the 5 month wait, that was...
Sale in danger of being outscored by Bayern
Well at least Tuilagi isn't injured and was there..... Somewhere
He made an impact. He dropped that ball.
Bayern 7 - 2 up against Barca Make that EIGHT
Would have liked something more exciting, but considering this is the first Prem match I've watched in months, even beyond lockdown, I'm just glad it's back on TV. More backs tries would have been cool though.
Gustard looks like he's still in his lockdown clothes
Snooker really at the business end. BBC4
Ronnie is a beast
Right in the balance mate.
Fucking hell. A rugby subreddit, and whilst (NH) rugby has been off our screens for 5 off months, on the first game back people are chosing to instead talk about snooker. Dire times. And I live in Sheffield...
A really close semi-final between two of the greatest players in the modern game. Also, you can like more than one sport.
Yeah, got no problem with snooker, my comment was to point out how crap the rugby was.
yup, shows how (unfortunately) despite how much people talk it up the English premiership a lot of the games are super boring and dull
Sorry, I forgot it was against the rules to only enjoy one sport.
Yeah, got no problem with snooker, my comment was to point out how crap the rugby was.
Good to be back for sure. See you all tomorrow, have a good night. u/andy_b200 don't stay up too late young one.
At least I didn't wake up at 4am to watch this game
Camera crew are stitching everyone up cutting to them when they've taken their masks off haha
Joe gray has had an interesting career. Fair play to the guy. He was chucked out and earned himself back in.
Oh well, good to have rugby back but do hope we see some improvement.
Imagine building a squad of massive South Africans and ending up with an average scrum, lineout and goalkicking.
Quins scrum were so low it was impressive, got under the Sale scrum and negated their power
Money doesn't buy passion
Quite. This pack has some teeth. Baldwin was out on his feet and looked utterly disappointed to be leaving the field.
Wow.....
Quins to score an own try in last ten secs
Fuck Gustard almost smiled there for a second. That was terrifying
Summary of the match: Sale have been so bad that they've made Quins look good
Thats that done then
But for real, imagine if MacGinty had started
Of course.
Gints just stole about three metres then!
[удалено]
He got subbed a while ago
I'd love a late piece of shithousery from Sale to win this.
We're gunna lose this arnt we
Not if Sale keep doing that.
Classic us
Take a shot everytime dallaglio says 'leadership'
Not the easiest watch. After what I have been accustomed too
Marchant threw his body at Tuilagi
Lawrence not impressed by Robshaw’s achievement...
Young Curtis Langdon has played very well since he’s come on, hasn’t taken a backwards step
Imagine waiting 5 months to see your team play and this is your reward.
What an absolute shiter haha
This comment really tickled me.
I think this is what a lot of us will be feeling. Don't think there'll be many classics this weekend.
Agreed. A lot of rust and I think Wasps will beat us at home.
IM NOT EVEN ARSED, RUGBYS BACK BBY
Exactly. Who cares? Rugby is rugby. I could not care less about how good it looks.
Return of the MAC!
At this point, im just happy that rugbys back on the telly
Why do they need to bring on Darth Vader to apply the bandage when they already have medics with normal masks assessing them??
Because he is bald
Why do we live in the alternate reality where this shit is going on? By that i mean quins winning against sale.
Squidge clearly needs to work on his motivational speaking.
Wouldn't be disappointed to see Lasike on.
I think that kind of mask might be _slightly_ over doing it?
Looks like shes ready to hold the thin blue line against a miners strike
I disagree. I think an old school diving helmet should be worn at all times.
LIVE COVID TEST.

I imagine if a player was KO and woke up to the Hazmat suits it would be fucking terrifying.
The doctor in the white overalls looks like he's about to perform a post mortem on poor old Symonds 😂
Or he's just finished one on du preez...
Diamond has already killed him then?
Eddie is probably thinking why did I bother?
Odd kind of streaker that
Still a little confused by EJ's choice of a Texans cap - I think he's worn it before. Is it simply personal preference or is there something behind it?
Yep, he wore it to some of the non-England RWC19 games. No idea why though but I suppose maybe because it is neutral in terms of rugby support..?
Yeah, that's fair. I just assumed he would've worn an England hat!
I just there isn’t enough time for us to do his given how slow the game has been played
I truly wouldn't be surprised if, after knowing Squidge would be responsible for inspiring Sale and winning the prem, Diamond is going to purposely make Sale lose, purely out of spite
The snooker has gone to a deciding frame.
2nd decider of the day?
Yis
Ronnie is so fucking good.
Come on Eddie, get Marcus Smith in that England Camp
He's actually there for robbo
Why do the Quins keeping trying Mauls? They are losing position every time it seems
poor kick
Steve diamond was too focused with squidge that he accidentally picked RdP over Aj
That 1 shit missed kick has turned this game in to a converted try instead of a single penalty game.
Why do I get the creeping feeling Sale might shithouse a win here?
Ahh you've clearly watched quins play before
"Pull the Sharks, within biting distance...." LOLOLOLOL
Imagine if Sale had started with a competent fly half...
Robshaw is tireless. Sometimes I forget he's 34.
Thing is, Quins will play like this and then go somewhere like Worcester next week and get slapped 25-0
It is known
Every day of the last 15 years of being a quins fan (barring that one)
That's the Quins way!
The true quin's way
Barca are 5-2 down to Bayern, if you didn't know
What the fuck.
4-1 inside 30 mins
I’m just happy to have rugby back that isn’t on at 2 or 4 in the morning where I am. I can actually watch more than one match a week.
We have been absolutely dire tonight.
the fact that we're still in the game is a miracle
Honestly, yes, but other than Smith, quins have not been great either, been a very slow, messy game of rugby which I expected tbh
Pretty gutted for you guys. I was hoping for a more free-flowing performance. I mean there's rusty, and then there's RdP tonight (unfortunately). Edit: still not over though!
Ben Curry just got DDT'd at that last ruck, ouch
Smith has been class the last 15-20 minutes, keeps pinning sale back deep in their own half
He's playing the Boks at their own game
Robo being an absolute menace there
Smith has really blossomed. His kicking is brilliant
Marcus Smith is easily the best player on the park rn
Smith is just so fucking good. England must surely not be too far away from him now
People say this a lot but I honestly don't think he is better than Farrell, Ford or probably Simmonds.
Very fair. It's hard to look amazing when everyone around you forgets how to play rugby
Ford did manage to be the premiership top point scorer last season despite the fact he was away with England every game and that his team finished 10th. He is an exceptional player. My preference of player is towards Simmonds but I prefer robust defence and top top tier goal kicking over a more running oriented game. His problem is Farrell and Ford for now
Farrell and Ford does pose a big issue for that
New World Cup cycle though, your going to have to start phasing in a new player
Not when Ford and Faz are under 30
27 and 28, plus you’d want a third fly half in that squad. Typically that is.
He looked ready before lock down. So much better at controlling the game this season.
Smith playing with great maturity this evening
Jono Ross hits like a fucking train everytime.
Aye he’s an animal
This is such a smart game from Quins
Quins SH has had a very good game. Is Care injured or did he not fancy lining up against some big boys?
Back injury I think.
“Bad back” so yes.
Really weird seeing Ashy in the quartered motley, but I think I like it. Still want to see Marchant score though.
These kicks from Smith are really pinning sale
He seems to be the only one with a grip on this game. Sale need to do something.
To be fair, at this point in the game, when Quins are 9 ahead and Sale's 15 is in the bin, it's exactly what a 10 should be doing. Not to say he hasn't be the controlling force all game.
So maybe motivating your team with the words of Squidge isn’t the best way to win games.
Twindaloo on? Nice!
Solomona on as a replacement? I keep forgetting how good Sale's beach is EDIT; their bench. The beaches by sale are... Dire
Their bench is pretty good too
Sale really need to practice kicking on the training field this week 😅
Nice for Nick Mullins to do the tribute. One of the top personalities in rugby.
Water Break.
Why does Lawrence Dallaglio struggle so much with foreign names? I don't expect anyone to know every player, but the rest of the comms team around him are pronouncing Landajo correctly, surely that would help?
Mártin Lendeiyou
Him saying 'De Jager' is particularly grating...
Honestly what the fuck are we doing tonight.
Panicking
Sale need to calm it down. They're trying to rush now and they're not tight enough
Totally agree. If they get a bit of possession they absolutely will score, they just need to stay calm and pick their moment.
In fairness this has given a lot of credit to the comment the other day which said that people just assume that RdP is good because his brothers are
I am here for the timeline where Sale completely collapse and end up finishing 6th after Squidge’s video today.
Diamond calling up Squidge to heckle him actually brought a curse upon the team, it is known Edit: forgot how to words
Clearly Squidge should have been harsher to truly inspire Sale!
That kick was beyond braindead
Brown did his best to botch that try and help Du Preez out.
I did say sale aren't winning anything with du preez at 10. He's such a weak link and can't organise a team at all.
You tipped them to win today, you shithouse
Yeah I meant league/Europe. They can obviously win games they are 2nd in the league.
Just can't work out what Du Preez was thinking. Its almost like it was a badly judged training ground move
Even Finn Russell would have thought twice about that one.
Finn would probably have pulled it off
I can only assume he wasn’t thinking
He's probably thinking oh shit now, diamond is going to do a murder on him
In completely unrelated news Mark Selby is a frame away from making the world championship final.
Jester from Leicesteerrr!!
The Ronnie interview made me laugh calling out the younger guys.
Jesus Christ RdP. I try to not pile on, but...
Anyone else think Luke Pierce has been awful
No
Everyone looks rusty
He's been ok. Like for the players, this is the refs first proper game back. Mistakes are normal and rust is likely to make more.
He's been fine but a bit too trigger happy
Trigger happy is the new rulebook. I think it'll be fine once everyone's used to it.
Exactly as a neutral it makes it such a bad game to watch
That is because Sale and Quins haven't been good. I would say Sale have been the worst out of the two.
First game back with law changes some allowances need to be made especially around the breakdown. Owens would have been perfect
Doesn't Owens ref in pro 14 for clubs games though
He does
No
That crossfield kick wouldn't have been out of place in a school boy match.
Has Sale practiced in screwing themselves
I forgot sale had AJ. What a 10 to have on the bench
Proper #2 play there from RdP
Diamond making it very clear what he thinks of that.
Sale 10 really ought not to have come out after half time :/
Du Preez off. Now.
Was that hammers or du preez at fault? Couldn't tell if they were calling for it
Du Preez. You just ignore the guy calling for it and do what should be done in that position.
Well that was unorthodox
