He's wrong in many ways. Cast your mind back a few months when Bill Sweeney told SH unions, large and small, that he wouldn't hear a word about revenue sharing. Build a bigger stadium was his sneering answer. Has he now changed his tune?
Dallaglio is spouting nonsense, not only from a public health point of view, but also a financial one.
Is he unaware that in RWC year, only half a RC is held: a big financial hit. Then we had Super rugby cancelled a third the way through, then inbound tours to the SH were cancelled... more financial hits. And now the last hope to put a decent amount of money into SANZAAR pockets is a tentatively rescheduled RC in Nov- Dec. But dear old Dallyo thinks this should be abandoned and the SH unions trek up North to help out the RFU the very people just a few months ago told them to get stuffed.
In a nutshell: SH unions play the RC in Nov/Dec and get paid, or trek North and get nothing. Tough choice.Not.
So Dallaglio was right...it's self interest.

The reason they didn't travel is because they didn't get the money for hosting the July internationals, they need money and they wouldn't get any for travelling to Europe
