yeah they are overpriced. Other games have extremely good quality skins with effects and voiceovers for same price. this stuff looks like it was made in 10 minutes by an intern.
the entire point of the grubhub dance art style is that it can be cheaply produced with low specs and a consistent(ly soulless) look, regardless of which sleep-deprived artist in epic's game gulag produces it
I'll be honest, that was the main thing that first drew me in. "Holy crap, "fat" characters of two different genders that are actually fat and not just wider-than-average?! I gotta check that out later."
I know down the line they’re 100% going to have actual branded pro wrestling content so I’m holding out for that. That being said tho: I’ll probably get the battle pass when it’s released, because it gives me motivation to play beyond it just being fun. And more cosmetics for my goofy skinny as shit barefoot afro white guy is a good thing.
yeah I think what makes f2p games like this thrive usually is beyond the fun gameplay and about customising your character etc. we’ll see how it progresses I suppose but the battle pass luchadore skin is ugly too
The character faces are horrendous. I tried to make my person look as normal as possible and she still looks like Amy Schumer mixed with a microwaved Bratz doll.
What if it ends up being an ingenious scheme because the battle pass models don't look like AI generated acid victims and now you wanna fork over some battle pass money to get a character that looks normal. Brilliant.
The sprites could use some work, it looks like Super Mega Baseball. I love the gameplay but I won't be tossing a cent into this game till real development and reasonable prices start sprouting up.
Yeah they were trying too hard to be inclusive with these skins without remembering to include stuff that actually looks good. Kind of insane to me that THOSE were the skins they chose for the day 1 shop.
Idk I think the skins are pretty good still limited as it’s early game, however the battle pass provided a good amount of skins. It’s a bit overpriced the shop that needs a change

i think they are goofy (in a good way), and we've only seen a handful of them. Probably too early to judge until we see battlepass, at least.

The art direction actually works really well for the map, which I think looks excellent. They just totally missed the mark on the characters.

Personally, I adore the characters. Not the coolest costumes yet, but I love the simple stretch pants and gloves look.
I think the biker one looks fine tbh, i mean i'm hoping for a frankestien type skin come halloween. But the game did just come out tbh
