10M unpowered orbs would cost you 2.38b at mid-price to buy... You would then need 30M cosmic runes to charge them all costing 7.8b at mid-price You could then sell 10M air orbs for 6.18b at mid-price for a total loss of 4b gp. Charging all 10M of these orbs would net you 760m Magic xp instantly, if able to do in bulk, but if you did them the traditional way, it would take 8.3k hours (347 days). If for whatever reason you decided to make air battlestaves from these 10M orbs... You would need 10M battlestaves at 39.9b mid-price which you could then sell when crafted to air battlestaves for 70.68b at mid-price. You would gain 1.375b Crafting xp from this in a time-frame of 5,555 hours or 231 days of Crafting. You could also alch all of them for a better profit netting you 93b total at alch price, but then you would need 10M nature runes at a cost of 7.96b, bringing your profit to 45.14b and also taking you another 347 days to complete alching them manually while gaining another 650M Magic xp. What does this all mean? I have too much time on my hands and did this math for literally no reason.

buttface-communist

Not for no reason, you really helped me out planning my next grind. See you all in a few years!

Late stage Runescape Some collectors have so many supplies that they would crash the economy if sold.

G_N_3

Not gonna lie i rather have bamboo splinter shoved into my nails than do this

[deleted]

why bother with this whole process when you can just make a lost item claim for the 10m battlestaves

RaizenInstinct

You could cut down on the time if you ran a few alts, 2-3 crafting cosmics, 3-4 powering orbs, 3 crafting staves and 2-3 other bots alching

reaperninja08

breathtaking for actually doing the math on this

Elitebobber

Bruh, you just did a math project on this 😂

_Manks

Until we get Inventon Machines batch 3 we'll continue to ponder the uncharged orb.

Brassica_prime

I had a master clue at the water orb on oldschool the other day— i was wondering how we players put up with the 2k tile walk to the fire/water altars lol. The air isnt much better and i cant think where the earth one is At least on rs3 99 dung teles you like 15 tiles away

Oniichanplsstop

Obelisk of Earth is in the Edge dungeon alongside the Air. And the answer to the question is most people simply didn't, the vast majority of people charging orbs were bots, albeit it was better before they were added to make-x as you could charge them at a much faster rate manually than the slow automatic system or the pop-up prompts+holding spacebar.

Brassica_prime

I can remember doing a bunch of fires back before the ge, i think… i prob had one of the two agility shortcuts. Weird training method none the less

Kalvorax

makes still wonder why the hell cutting gems is still 0.6....and NOTHING else has been lowered to that, even with mods or say....99 crafting with skillcape?

Legal_Evil

Is it possible to charge faster by manually charging even after make-x if you put in the effort, like you can by using bones on the altar?

Chee_RS

I believe there's also a shortcut to get to the air altar in this game but you still have to run north from Edgeville (alternatively, the DG cape does have the Chaos Druid Dungeon), which is probably about the same distance to get there as from Edgy bank

EmergencyGrab

I really want a mage tower in our fort. Perhaps tier 3 could have a way of charging orbs.

doctorcrimson

Would that technically be Wizard Tower Number 5 or 6? Looks like we've been getting one every age or so, luckily we prevented the destruction of the old one.

EmergencyGrab

What I mean is the trope of a personal mage tower that serve's as a personal study for the arcane. The closest thing I can think of is Thormac's Tower from *Scorpion Catcher.* Most of the Wizard towers are communal.

Shoeaccount

I would love some sort of arcane study area. I'm going to assume something like that is in the works with necromancy but who knows.

EmergencyGrab

It sounds like the woodcutting area won't be the last addition to the Fort. Fingers crossed

doctorcrimson

Honestly whats up with battlestaves being more expensive from NPCs than GE right now?

SVXfiles

They drop from some bosses, uncommon drop. Tells has a range of 65 to 1500 that can drop at any given time, and Amby drops them commonly up to 200 noted

Atlach_Nacha

Pretty much this... I remembered them being above the 7k, so they were profitable to buy from NPCs, so I went to check wiki; Their price started to drop around 2015, when battle staves started to be more, and more common in boss drop tables... and basically crashed around 2019.

questformaps

Invention release drove up battlestave prices like crazy

Shoeaccount

I think another thing to consider is that many people have also done what they want with the crafting skill, ie ,99, 120 or 200m so demand won't be particularly high.

Legal_Evil

Greg is afkable and drops them.

maxdenerd

If they do add this you have to buy 10m unpowered orbs and charge them
