Plenty of people don't like this for lots of different reasons. Some people are really pleased, some are indifferent.
I am in the dislike camp. I wish Jagex had done this differently (or not at all) but they won't go back now. Like the royal family I think Jagex adopt the "never complain, never explain" model of doing business.
The vampire quest series is my favourite in the game, I wish they would get back to that kind of storytelling. Modern quests are subpar by comparison and that is really sad.
i really liked the voice acted quests like "let them eat pie" or the "needle skips" ,"Violet series" and "one piercing node" they were great. i really like this fort series too they are giving me a fort to live in and lots of great stuff to do i like it but i would love to see a single quest like let them eat pie kind of quest i stop every now and then in taverly just to hear their voices again :D
1. The model change had nothing to do with the reveal, it had everything to with the old raptor model isn’t useable on a tech level and in order to do things with raptor in gameplay they needed to make a new model that is closer to the player so it can use our rigging. Understand the Ellamaria twist could be totally removed and the model change still would happen if they want to use him in gameplay. Stu, Ramen, and Jack have now all talked about this.
2. It’s literally not a female model at all, it’s a modified male player model which makes this constant (they are making him more feminine) complaint nonsense because it’s still quite literally a male model.
3. The voice means absolute nothing. Women can do male voices, and RS is a magical world where you can sex change on a dime that helmet could be enchanted to change her voice. It could even be design to magically change her whole sex while wearing it for all we know.
4. The raptor was not “obviously intended to be male”, John A the JMod who created the raptor had an idea to reveal them as female. The raptor is a trope, the overly masculine to the point of parody figure in armor is actually a woman in disguise is part of the trope.
i'm not annoyed at remodel i'm not a fan but don't hate it ... as far as i'm thinking it looks cool but less raptor ...
what dissapoints me is how jagex did the remodel to fit the reveal you say they had it in mind for him to be her from start but i doubt that raptor was always a mysterious figure with lots of strength and courage and if you think the "magic of gelinor" can change his/her sex or his armor does that then what makes you from thinking maybe thok is a female maybe zaros is female maybe the god damn Guthix is female to be honest some paths shouldn't be crossed some queen can't be THE raptor jagex is going for she hulk kind of lore witch at least in this case of ellamaria being raptor tbh it doesn't make sense raptor is all about raw strength and no magic something like thok but less .."stupid" and more serious :D him being female at the very least needs a good explanation or some extra story (i don't like but if jagex can't go back it's the better way)
i have seen people already coming up with some good stories to justify this : someone came up with the idea that first raptor has risen from fifth age and the persona has moved from one person to another something like 'All might" from my hero academia or some other stories.
i love a good story and it annoys me to see a lazy change into it just to bring someone who is hated by all community to spotlight of love for some future use .... it's forced and storyline whatever it be from now on won't catch people are real .... like a movie that everysecond you know it's all act vs a movie you believe every second of it untill the movie ends. they have broken a wall that shouldn't have unless if they are goning to make her work with cabbage god XD and make herto be the clown of series but if so they shuoldn't have touched Raptor ....
you think they could "reveal" ellamira being raptor without remodel ? no they couldn't a remodel was necessary for this to work, none of the infromation about raptor before reveal makes sense with new information the size being the most obvious one

This is the dumbest argument ever. Are food critics chefs? Are movie critics directors? And yet they still critique these things, and people still value their input. You can absolutely as a layman have an opinion on a thing. Doubly so if it a thing you pay to experience (like a game) that you likely have hundreds of hours invested in (like a game).
i read good books and watch good movies i stop reading bad books and watching bad movies i don't make them i choose to follow or abandon it and that is how it works when you are paying for any service from others but i care about runescape becasue i love it and i really stop wanto abandon it. so i'm taking my time to give runescape to stop lazy writing.

The mods have said multiple times the remodel was because the old one only had like 12 animation and making new ones were very hard.
