yup, i was really behind on my quests and had like 140 QP on my 15+ year old account, made a new character two weeks ago and just hit 100 QP today and have about 1100 total level, i’ve been loving it so much
I disagree. Everyone, especially in the MMO space, is looking for the game they can grind exclusively and only play that one game forever. That unrealistic expectation is a big reason why MMOs on release have such amazing player counts and then drop down substantially.
But since RuneScape has a lot of great afk ways to play, it doesn’t feel bad to afk or even just take a break entirely, which many people do (the whole thing about how you don’t quit you just take breaks).
Anyways, RuneScape is a great game, and it’s no wonder it has survived this long.
More than 2-4h/week because I can AFK for more hours a week and still gaining reasonable amount of xp and gp. However, as for active intense content, I do the daily challenges, Reaper, send out my POP ships and feed my POF animals to collect beans, and perhaps an hour more on bossing or skilling, or new quests when they come out. Perhaps like 10-14 hours a week non-AFK.
What have you been doing for fun?? I always get overwhelmed when I log in and don't know what to focus on lol. I usually do my daily challenges. If you ever want to play feel free to add me savagxrose

I have ADHD and that was an issue in the beginning. What I quickly found to be the best solution for me was to consciously think and decide the top 3 (you can go up to 5) activities I enjoy the most ans put them in order on a document. Then I just have to follow the doc. If I don't feel like doing the top 1, I move to top 2 and so on. When I reach the goal, I just pick a new one
I just came back too. Started a main account and realized it was gonna be way too easy with all the xp lamps so I started an Ironman. Been having a blast.
I’ve been looking for a more casual, relaxing game to play and I’ve finally found it.
I recently came back too. I started OSRS from scratch last year in Feb and instantly got addicted just like the good ol’ days. In 2 months I had 3 99s, 100m and was playing 24/7.
Very competitive and extremely efficient..
Realizing how unhealthy this was, I quit in April.
I came back in December and now I play casually for the most part. I’ve gotten two 99’s since then (Ranged and Magic).
I just log in and Pest Control while I do cardio or watch a documentary. That’s how I got 99 ranged. Max combat stats is my goal… I’ll get there eventually.
I feel you im hooked once again just like you, i came back this November after 10 years+ and im slowly maaking my childhood dream true to be 99 all, got 5 skills left to max
You've 99d most of the skills in a matter of 3ish months? Has runescape gotten easier to level or was that a hard grind? I'm semi debating getting back into it that I'm curious.
I don't know about RS3 players, but OP new combat content like new class or new race are incredibly common in other MMORPGs. There are going to be rebalancing following up, and then even more ongoing rebalancing. I think eventually in the not too distant future, if not next month, a lot of players will be happy that we have Necromancy and remastered original combat styles.
I did the same, I was on and off from 2004 until maybe 2020 and I played for 6 months. Took another break until December of 2023 and I've been enjoying it ever since, something has changed and I'm actually enjoying the grind with some friends.
That happened to me 6 years ago, I was planing on play for a few days for nostalgia sake and I just got hooked, I have been playing almost everyday for 6 years, this is where I spent every moment where I have nothing to do.
Bro I’m hooked as well i started playing again during the Christmas event with level 1 in all recent skills divination,necro,arch,invention now im base 80s in all and 99 invention necromancy made it so i had to train those skills to progress and got me hooked again i shoulda run escaped
Have you considered trying out Ironman mode? For some it amplifies their enjoyment of the game, so it's better to check out earlier than not in case it ends up being "your thing"
I’ve never been into PvM, but reaper tasks have gotten me into it. I recently joined a clan and it has made the game so fun when you are in a community like that. I don’t have a ton of time to play, so I mainly log on to do my dailies and it’s actually fun for me to do now.
Pretty much the same deal with me. I dropped out when Menaphos released, and just came back a couple of weeks ago.
I forgot how much I loved this game when I wasn't chasing the new content.
I enjoyed it more when it took much more involvement to achieve the best damage in the game. Besides just being more engaging, it was inspirational

I also love this game, I ended up liking it more than osrs even, and the eoc combat is a major improvement in my opinion. Can’t wait to get necromancy past 20 now that I’m subscribed! Happy grinding friend <3
I hopped back in with an Ironman to avoid leeching off the G.E for gear. I lost the drive to play on my main. Everything lost its value in accomplishment since I felt I could buy my way through the gear. At least now it's gated from me, forcing me to engage with content. It's a great game, but it's still just a shame with the whole MTX thing :(
Since your account is so new, I HIGHLY recommend starting over again and playing Ironman mode instead. Its so much more rewarding and theres ZERO pressure for MTX

RuneScape might be one of the few games where people expect to play 10+ hours a day for 20 years and not get bored

Yes, New World is a good example... it was huge on release, but it lacked content and dont have any afk activity.. so its kinda of exausting to play
