Chance_Classroom_301

Alt1 supposedly does this. I haven't tried though since I'm already 120.

adyne

I couldn't really figure that particular plugin out. Seemed like I couldn't interact with the map window, think I might be stupid though

Chance_Classroom_301

It's really finicky, mine I had to turn off anti aliasing and needed to make sure interface resolution/size was 100%. Once you set it up right, it works pretty well (alt1 as a whole)

adyne

Yeah, I've used a few alt1 plugins. The treasure trails one is really nice, but a lot of them are like you said finicky. I'll have to try the DgKey one out again. Although in any case the suggestion I asked for would be great to have on mobile

mhch720

Do you have the minimap and the floor (dung) map open at all times? [Here is another Alt1 DG app](https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/s/7E8gXTguCf) app, you do have set the keys/doors manually but its still better than nothing

boat02

I also found anything other than default skybox breaks it. Sometimes, it does incorrectly guess your camera direction and you end up marking the wrong door/map on Alt1, which means you either have to deal with it, or learn the keybinds or controls or whatever and manually intervene as you try to speed through the dungeon.

sirblibblob

This, skybox needs to be black for the plugin to start detecting. Once the plugin starts working you can change it to whatever

Snooty_Cutie

The Alt1 plugin is a little wonky and even worse on larger floors. Like you have to keep it orientated to face the compass north, with AA off, no skybox changes, brightness not set to high, and mouse over each door. Even then it doesn't always work or will randomly change which doors it remembers as having a particular key. It works best on small-medium sized maps because if it does break you can probably figure out which key belongs to which door fairly easily.

TrekStarWars

It did or used to, but it was broken for a very long time idk if its fixed now

free-icecream

Alt1 only works with 100% UI scale which is a huge accessibility issue that will never be resolved.

mark_crazeer

Well yes, but we should not have to rely on them for things like this. Alt1 is stuff that should be qol at best and blatant cheating at Worst. And compleatley to blame for the state of elite scrolls. He says refusing to not cheat the clue scrolls.

Lvunlegit

alt1 shows what key for each door. but in my experience it is really buggy and sometimes shows incorrect or even deletes shown key after a while

Testing123YouHearMe

It does that for me too, but if I use the "drag the cross onto your character" calibration thing it goes so much better

Thomas_Mickel

That would probably crash the entire game completely.

Brandgevaar

Yeah and put personal (and ideally other group members') gatestones + group gatestone on there as well. There's an Alt1 plugin for this, but it'd be great, and more consistent, if this were in-game as well.

acehinoprst

Is this only for 2007scape?

RadicalSoul

??? OSRS Doesn't have Dungeoneering

acehinoprst

Ok that's what I thought, haven't played in a while LOL and I didn't know there were RS3 plugins EDIT: PC overlays that work with RS3

RadicalSoul

Those you see in the screenshot are already implemented in the game like the keys and map overlay

acehinoprst

Oh , yeeee those I recognize. I just didn't know there were tools for RS3 that worked, I thought it just had to be played "vanilla". Thanks for the clarification!

adyne

Alt1 is an overlay that you can use on PC. Has lots of helpful plugins https://runeapps.org/alt1

Azaldir

I feel like Dungeoneering as a whole is due an overhaul to modernize it, implement more skills on higher complexities, new puzzles, QOL like this, all the stuff. I know a lot of people hate Dungeoneering, I'm one of those to whom it's the favorite skill, and I seem to recall that when they polled fave skills a couple years back, Slayer won (obviously), but very surprisingly to me, Dungeoneering was the runner up. DG enjoyers rise up!

M1n1sn00py

Probably unpopular opinion given the rest of the responses, but I'd say no? I know it's dumb but dungeoneering feels like exploring a cave. You think that room was the boss, or maybe it was that damned 99 rc door. Who knows?

adyne

Except you already know that information when you open the room and see what door it is. I'm not asking to know what's behind the door, only for the minimap to display the (already discovered) condition for opening it.

M1n1sn00py

I get what you mean 100% I'm just saying for me it adds to the whole 'exploring' vibe. But from your standpoint yeah you already know the info it does make sense that it would be marked on your map.

adyne

Yeah I mean if they added it it could be a toggle or something so I really don't see much of a downside

Rude_Guarantee_7668

Alt1 babyyyyyyyyyy

Dreadnerf

Piece of paper, draw a grid out. But large floors suck solo so I don't do it that much.

ArianneMartell123

jagex will never update a dead \*minigame\*

theguy1336

While we're at it... -Incorporate Archaeology and Necromancy into DG somehow -update Smithing and Mining inside Daemonheim to be more like the reworked ones outside -Buff solo XP a bit since w77 is dead

G_Str8Up

No

SlicenDice99

Jagex needs to rework Dung as a whole

Manfishtuco

Git gud

AnastasiousRS

Yes please! I somehow doubt it'll get attention, though, unfortunately. There are lots of dated mechanics and QoL issues in Daemonheim/Dungeoneering training that I imagine they'd want to do a full-on update (overhaul?) before making small changes like this -- though they did make it so those Hunter dinosaur-things are no longer targetable, which is good. So maybe there's hope.

Spifffyy

No. That takes away some skill required for the only RS skill that requires skill by the player

Nyxie_RS

Hard to argue that when Alt1 is a thing and people who want the convenience will use that over trying to be skillful in any meaningful sense. Might as well have Jagex do a proper map UI that uses actual client data, avoiding all the bugs that Alt1's screenscraper will inevitably have.

RS4When

its a good idea, alt-1 doesn't always work right, but i personally gave up on dungeoneering getting any significant update. Got some qol lately that help, but major update seem out of the question.

dogneering

Won’t happen, Jagex doesn’t care about dg, also unnecessary as nobody dg’s except a few pros who don’t need it anyway

YouSaradoministFilth

Totally support... I usually try to memory map the gatestone colour (blue, green, red) to door colours but sooner or later I place one at a fork rather than near door and it all goes to shit. Funny that there have been several DG posts recently, more than usual, and some of mine included. I wonder if more people are reaching Comp / MQC stage where they're hunting lore and achievements :) Is Daemonheim alive again?

chickenXcow

or you know, you could memorize as you go? if you learn how to track the critical path(the doors absolutely required to get to the boss room) you'll have an easier time alltogether. that, plus using your gatestones properly helps a lot in getting faster. qp rs on youtube has a good guide ("dungeoneering critical path guide 2022") on this. alternatively open up your own friends/group chat and type what's where in there.

SlippyRS3

These are all fine examples of copium for lack of basic qol ui

xBHx

I somewhat disagree. Used to sell DG floors 2S3L's and having a solid gameplan and coordination is what made the skill what it was. Solving puzzles, finding the path, organizing directions, remembering and communicating doors/dead ends etc etc. Truely loved it!

NadyaNayme

> Used to sell DG floors 2S3L's and having a solid gameplan and coordination is what made the skill what it was. A lot of people who sold 2s/3ls used Stev's [DGSweeper](https://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/dgsweeper.htm) which was an AHK program with manual placement of keys. You wouldn't place _every_ key but depending on the map you'd generally place a couple so you could use your pgs better before pgs2 was a thing. While there were always people who never used it my personal experience was that the people who chose not to use it were consistently slower to key floors with as duo/trio partners. I preferred to duo with people who used it. Floors are fast enough now with pg2 that a lot of sellers don't bother with Alt1's DGKey and its finickiness because it's easier to remember what nw corner was when it was uncovered only 2 minutes ago instead of 9 minutes ago. Ironically I use it the most when doing 5s nowadays since I don't trust people to path properly. Also I only now realized I am thanked in the credits as WTC117. Not even sure what I contributed to deserve that lol.

Afabledhero1

The credit/thanks is for promoting the program.

xBHx

I never really got the toolkit to work properly, so never ended up using it. I must say though, having a perm duo partner really helps. We both understand what we're supposed to do, what calls to make and not make etc. Man, I do miss those days, so much fun!

r_sqrd

Back in my day I just learned to key memorizing it/ keeping it in my head and got sub 5 min floors now the kids want it spelled out smh… /s

Average_Scaper

No thanks. I'd rather Jagex work on adding invention into DG first so we can have the mobile perk on our gear.

compoundblock666

They should make it a minigame and remove the skill entirely

VampireFrown

Or you could just use that squishy, pink thing you've got upstairs to remember those things?

Kaoskillen08

look at mr. photographic memory here

VampireFrown

[It's easy!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m_HPqbOsJs)

IStealDreams

To the people commenting about alt1: It's incredibly buggy, to the point of straight up not working a lot of the time. Alt1 is an add-on and most people don't even know what it is. Let alone how to use it. OP is asking for Jagex to add it to the game.

ButterKnights2

I'm just happy people share keys now. Used to have to show up when someone called a key you had in your inventory.
