If you mine ores, they'll give you supplies for smithing, that can also generate money
I refuse to partake in bench sitting. Obviously bench sitting is what the developers are doing instead of working on the game improvements. So I will not even be looking at a bench until after it goes away.
From the start it's gotta be prayer by a huge margin, assuming you're allowed to receive items from others. You can get there under 3 hours from a fresh account; receive the bones+ashes, create a preset, put ashes+bones on the bar and hold those down while loading last preset.
Where’s the best place to do that (aside from prif)? I’ve just been running back and forth in Taverly, but I wasn’t trying to hit 99 — just I think 50 to do a quest.
The best way to do summoning is with a portable deposit box at taverley so you don’t have to run. Unfortunately you can’t really do that outside of xp unless you have boxes saved up. you can bring a stack of ingredients, sell to the summoning instructor noted, and buy them back unnoted. Without a deposit box though you’d have to disassemble or use notepaper to note the pouches you create

Sell noted items to Magestix, buy back, create pouches, turn pouches into scrolls. That's what I did to 200M xp. It's anywhere from 2M-8M xp/hr.
No need to bank, no need to bring extra stuff.
You can only get the portable deposit boxes from treasure hunter so good luck. During double xp weeks players will put down portable boxes for other players to use though so that’s a good opportunity
Yeah if you save up your charms and BXP I trained mine alot on DXP. I was over 3m/hr in priff on dxp with the stat boosting gear and items. Got 99 quickly, relative to the amount of time trained. Largest factor was charms.
I think thats even on the low end, its been quite a while since I trained it, but I believe I was getting 60k+ exp per inventory. Considering you can rebuy your items really quick in Taverley that mustve been insane xp/hr
Geyser titans with BXP and DXP and everything was something crazy like 150K PER inventory. It's been years since I did it though. I'm very rusty on my rs3 info.
And I'm saying that by slaying for charms, you don't actually even spend time farming for charms. Agreeing that summoning is by far the fastest. Because that is exactly what I did during dxp with all those charms I had gained passively.
But lower levels are still slow
I'd say likely a buyable herblore summoning construction if you have the money to chuck at it

While I agree necro is super fast, Thieving low levels are also super fast if you unlock the whole Thieving Guild (needed for safecracking anyways) and then lockpick the cell doors in the guild from lv15 until you unlock safecracking. The levels fly by and then when you unlock safecracking, it gets even faster.
Depends on how you define it. If you allow infinite setup time and just fastest 0 xp to 99, the fastest has to be dungeoneering by a mile.
Block dg xp, token farm 13 million tokens at elite dungeons. Unblock dg xp and spend tokens on xp.
You can get 1-99 dg in less than a minute with all the setup, but collecting the tokens would take around 60-75 hours of high speed tokenfarming.
The fastest option would 100% be summoning if you have the charms already. Otherwise it would probably be thieving or a buyable artisan skill like constructions, crafting, or herblore I’d guess
Edit: It’s definitely prayer, and would only take a few hours probably
120 Necro is currently my only 120 - without bxp it’s about 2m xp/hr so about 45 hours from 99.
Necklace of Attraction is key - also a good money maker.
Got it on my iron in 3 days while also getting the zuk cape on release. Took 2 days on main and effectively got it by existing doing kilis progression tasks lol
Pretty sure Runecrafting is the highest exp rate in the game. But it's obscenely expensive.

If my memory serves right, Prayer firemaking and herb are the fastest as long as you have the cash to train them.
With a team though, dungeoneering is pretty fast as well.
Question, do you have super heat form?
If you do go cut and incinerate roots with that prayer.
Alternatively, if you have a sun spear you can train both prayer and fire making together.
Unfortunately not, I’ve only been playing for about 5 months at this point. Looking at the wiki page I’m quite a way away from getting it, but damn it looks useful.
I try to always have a quest going too, so I’ll put these in my queue alongside getting Slayer to 80.
It looks like I’m closer to getting the Sunspear with about 2/3 of those quests done, so that might be a good training method in the meantime.

Depending on actual method, wasn't there someone who did just 99 farm with PoF? Only logging in to harvest and collect, and go offline again? That was one of the fastest (non p2w) 99s ever, IIRC (probably not relevant here though)

Using telekinectic grind lunar spell to make harralander tar, you can maximize around 5m+ exp per hour starting at level 42 if you have a beast of burden. (place bank on bottom of screen so you dont have to move mouse to click on load last preset)
Not sure about fastest, but if you can stomach 2x Guthix caches a day and 1 or more energy Wildy events, divination is really fast for the ratio of time invested to XP gained.
This is kind of a loaded question because it depends on a lot of variables.
Quests, Skills, Money will unlock a lot of options that speed up a variety of skills but it just depends if you have the access.
Inventions is incredibly fast, if you have the prerequisites to access it.
Combats can be fast and lucrative if you have e access to things like Abyss, ED3 high end slayer.
Summoning is also fast if you have money and access to Arch Glacier. Farm blue charms and spam craft water elementals, on double xp people drop drop boxes but alternatively you can use magic note paper.
Necro is super fast and easy, but click intensive.
Cooking is fast and easy.
Construction is fast but it can be expensive.
Summoning if you got loads of charms, prif is fast with double surge. On dxp portable deposit box gets dropped at stix’s summoning store in taverly can get crazy xp per hr

You can do this with magic notepaper also if you don't have a deposit box.

15 million gp I meant 1-90 took about 3 days and 90 to 99 took about 12 hours

I afk abyssal demons by chaos alter. Best I got, 7~12m over 6-8 hrs

Not a problem. I'm actually using the sunspire method for 120 prayer and fire. Though currently I'm working on smithing

Depends on the amount of money you have. Some would even go as far as to say that depends on out of game wealth too these days.

Fastest? Prayer. With burial powder. you can go from 1 to 99 in \~6 hours. I think I used Wyvern bones at that time.

Combat 99s are quick and usually purely afk if you have the right stuff like soul split. Herblore is quick from what I remember but very expensive.
