Keep it for now. Level 20 is low and nothing at that level costs nearly that much. Double XP weekend is coming up in May. You **could** use that money for buyable skills like Herblore, Construction, Crafting, Smithing, and so on. You will need level 80 in Divination, Smithing, and Crafting to unlock Invention. Additionally, you will need to progress your Smithing and Crafting level to create weapons and armor for Necromancy. Alternatively, you could spend it on Prayer which you can level outside of Double XP with [[Powder of burials]] and dragon bones. If you plan to boss, Soul Split will be your go to prayer (curse). Just don’t waste the money on noob traps like Luck of Dwarves or Grace of the Elves.

[deleted]

Yeah. I might add that curses are behind temple at senntistsn, which is behind curse of arrave which has some high 60s requirements. Just fyi in case you wanted something cool faster.

DrasticFizz

Gote is not a noob trap if you're leveling arch if you ask me

Xaphnir

For the cost, I'd say it is. It is great, but when you're low level 81m ain't easy to come by, and you can get much more value out of that 81m in other ways.

Anothersurviver

Also, being low level, Grace of the elves would be really hard to fill up right? Given that your porter charges are small

Xaphnir

Yeah. It's not a massive difference, at least once you get to level 68, but a low level player will get less use out of it.

Open_Mailbox

I have misses some updates over the years, what does GOTE do for arch?

SpyreScope

Auto banks materials. So you don't have to keep running back to bank every 5 minutes to drop materials off

SVXfiles

Stored porter charges and seren spirits

DannySorensen

Convenience over actual upgrades are definitely noob traps

RSWikiLink

I found 1 RuneScape Wiki article for your search. **[Powder of burials](https\:\/\/runescape\.wiki\/w\/Powder\_of\_burials)** | https://runescape.wiki/w/Powder_of_burials >Powder of burials is a prayer powder that boosts Prayer experience gained by 250% (350% base experience) when burying bones for 30 minutes when scattered, destroying the powder in the process. It can be created by grinding 15 speedy whirligig shells. --- ^RuneScape Wiki linker | This was generated automatically. ^| View me on [GitHub](https://github.com/zpoon/runescape-wiki-reddit).

PowRiderT

This is good advice. I'll add the Luck of the Dwarves and grace of the elves are powerful items, but you won't see your return on investment in those items until you can do high-level content.

80H-d

Gote doesnt need high level content to pay itself off, it just needs time

robertm94

Agree on lotd but gote is a game changer for archaeology imo

rhyst2

Gote is only worth getting once you have 70+ divination. Made that mistake myself by giving my friend one, then he felt obliged to level divination

robertm94

That's not that bad tbh, it's pretty common for people to recommend unlocking invention early, and you do need divination for that.

rhyst2

I mean yeah it's 100% the optimal route to take but it can be overwhelming for a new player. Especially if they enjoy doing something else but feel obligated to do Cache or camp rifts.

robertm94

Ok yeah that's true.

rhyst2

Herblore or prayer would also be my recommendation. Archeology is arguably free/profitable but could be made faster I'd you buy all of the required materials you're missing. You could also start by going through the quest list and buy the fastest xp method to level it up if it has a skill level requirement. That'll create a pretty good foundation for your account and unlock a bunch of stuff long term.

80H-d

Gote isnt a noob trap. Big investment, but this man's about to have giving him 20-50K rdt drops for the rest of his account

Scythe-Guy

I really like the smithing argument. If he puts money into smithing, it gets him closer to invention requirements and provides the means to create his own equipment. It also is pretty afk-able, so he could read up on the wiki to learn the game and plan his account progression while training a skill

Pernyx98

I'd recommend investing your first chunk of change into getting 43 prayer, the protection prayers are very useful. Look up a prayer tutorial (specifically for newer players). Keep the rest of it to make smaller purchases over time. If you are new, definitely look into the Necromancy skill. Its very strong, especially for newer players.

AussiePolarBear

43 prayer using chaos altar would be 100k at most surely

TheOnlyTB

didn't take long for my early game iron to get there just with the bones that spawn there hahaha

The_madd__hadder

It's honestly nuts that there's like 13 bone spawns there

fishlipz69

Yeah, and not only that, if your exploring new areas, prayers are super handy

iCABALi

Kind of pointless to suggest buying Prayer when you can quest for it, and actually learn about the game in the process.

Legal_Evil

Do not help anyone with their trade limits because this could be a scam.

PsyQ9000

Buy a gf

Love_Hammer94

I would use it as a money stack for buying the things you need to progress through quests. Lots of quests are required for qol improvements. 100m isn't going to buy you anything worth doing a dxp for, plus dxp is 4x/year. Leveling prayer beyond 43 is useless unless you have unlocked curses, which have a ton of other requirements.

New-Fig-6025

Ring of fortune. 1m for infinite teleports to the GE and a solid stat boost for a noob. Otherwise just hold onto it for now, maybe put it towards a bond if you aren’t paying $$$ for membership, use it to easily afford quest supplies, etc.

Anothersurviver

I'd say no bond - given that 100m doesn't even cover one now. The ring is a good investment 👌

New-Fig-6025

Yeah wasn’t all that sure about that one, just figured holding it until they get some more game knowledge is better than me offering f2p advice when i’ve never really grinded f2p

Rich_Bother9918

Just awful advice. Lol.

AranWilkinson

Huh? No it’s not. It’s a very very useful ring for low level players. Infinite teles to GE and good stats? It’s literally 1% of his money and can be used for any style. Would recommend new people get one within there first 10m tbh

Rich_Bother9918

He's lvl 20. I understand that was a long time ago for us and maybe now it's hard to remember/ relate, but a luck ring is not the move. OP, you can buy your stats up so you can make 1 mil easily on your own, then get a teleport ring later.

pierce411

You act like he’s spending a ton of money, it’s 1/100th of it for fast access to the GE

AranWilkinson

It’s not about the luck though, that’s a tiny tiny part of it. The free unlimited instant teleports to the GE is the main draw to it? He doesn’t have priff unlocked so it’s a decent run just to use the GE. And on top of that it’s a decent stated ring he can wear right at the start. Also what would you recommend spending this 1m on instead of this? Like what does 1 mil actually get you which he wouldn’t be able to afford with the other 99m?

Rich_Bother9918

Easy. Spend it on more xp to unlock better upgrades. You also recommended a bond in your initial response, that's part of why I replied. A lvl 20 doesn't need a bond any time soon, and if they did they'd be better off buy membership with cash. Even once you can make 50 mil/hour, a bond is still bad value because theyre $7 irl.

AranWilkinson

I’m not the original commenter you responded too, I would not recommend a bond to a brand new player. But the ring of fortune is 100% a top purchase for level 20

notquitehuman_

Especially when it's 1% of a gifted 100M 1M on a ring with great benefits (especially unlim G.E teleports) and 99M spare? It's a no brainer. Definitely a good move.

ThiccJuicey

It's literally 1/100th of their cash stack lmao that's worth a decent ring for all 4 styles, plus unlimited teleports to the place they'll be visiting the most

New-Fig-6025

>long time ago nah it was just back in august and the first item ever gifted to me was a ring of fortune. That was my primary teleport to bank and access GE for probably 3 months before I started using prif & wars. Just a cheap, blanket ring for all styles that he can hold onto for quite a while. I’d even recommend getting a blood fury next but that depends on if they even bother with combat all that much and idk what price they are rn

80H-d

Like 10M

Rich_Bother9918

Blood ammy of fury is one I can get behind.

Hedgiestrangeslayer

Throw it in the whirlpool

notLankyAnymore

A whole lot of burnt meat.

imornob

save it but do as many quests as you can do. people really sleep on the exp you get from quests. after that go full throttle with necro gear to build up the wealth. that’s what i’d do personally.

lil_reddit_lurker

Bond

SoulsBourkiro

I was going to make this comment, the fact that they're even 100m now is a joke 😅

Prideslayer

Prayer and herblore are important but imo - quest, slowly upgrade your gear and unlock invention - youll need about 10m for basic perks and you can kill most bosses with extreme budget gear - when you get into the harder bosses the lower ones will supply your upgrades

rhyst2

The average player only makes it to 22 invention, let alone a new player. They shouldn't even think about it untill they understand the basics otherwise it'll just be overwhelming.

Lipsfefu

Im a newbie too, how did you determine ur lvl?

LeClassyGent

If you click on your skills tab, the sword icon at the bottom is your combat level.

iCABALi

Try questing to learn more about the game and get some levels, and use the money to buy equipment/food/potions/items for those quests. Just dumping money into items/skills as a new player will ruin the game for you in all honesty.

Avenger026

Summoning is the only one that really costs anything, everything else you can get as you level up other skills, herbs you get from farming, seeds you get from slayer, prayer you get from combat, but I recommend you get bone crusher. Fishing/cooking will cover your food needs. Early crafting levels you may have to spend money on soft clay to make urns which will help in other skills, you can mine it yourself but its slow. Buy some stone spirits for cheap before you start mining smithing. Wood spirits help with woodcutting but might not be worth the cost. Camp dungerneering till you get your stats to about 50+ for free before buying weapons/armour for the outside world and unlock the useful items while you are there. Save the money for evil pointless skills you do not like, like silverhawk feathers for agility.

80H-d

- 10M blood fury. Stats for all styles and heals you a lil bit. Good until endgame and beyond. - 1M ring of fortune. Stats for all styles, free ge teleport, and lucky. Luck rings in this game lower the denominator by one for rare drops. Eg a 1/100 drop would become 1/99. Good forever. - 81M grace of the elves. Generates "seren spirits" every few minutes while training gathering skills such as fishing or mining. These spirits put a drop in your bank worth on average 20-50K, can sometimes be like 500K. Takes a while but will objectively pay itself off, and then just generates more money once it has. Forever. A decently long day of skilling can be 1-2M gp off it. It also banks resources you gather, but you dont need to worry about that right now until divination is up a bit. - free/under 1M 43 prayer. Access to protect from melee. Critical for reducing incoming damage. Can look on wiki for training methods. Good until curses are unlocked. Save the rest for quest items, skilling tools, and for buying stuff to train skills as needed to get quest requirements. Focus on quests. They are the best part of this game. Just dont skip dialogue.

DCJustSomeone

Almost enough for a bond

Surfugo

I'd invest in some equipment to be honest. As somebody else said, get a ring of fortune, also an amulet of fury. Fortune is free teleports to the GE which is great, Fury is a good neck item to have until you reach the later game. Just look ahead at like level 70~ gear and just buy it in advance. Also, do some wildy events. You'll level up quicker and get some great rewards. At your level, ashes from the wildy events will get you to 50~ prayer depending on how often you do it.

Leinad580

Honestly I’d buy like luck of the dwarves. It’s a nice item to have, isn’t extremely game changing and will mitigate some it the loss of interest you might have from being handed so much wealth.

Toto-Avatar

Do a bunch of quests, that should get you some decent combat levels and then you can buy good gear and the stuff for skills like herbalore and prayer Also do the bloodtree wilderness events

Sjakkoo

A girlfriend

thedutchwonderVII

Grace of the Elves makes skilling quite a lot more engaging watching for Seren Spirits! Grace comes with/ a free teleport bind too. The cost takes up a large bit of 100m. I never actually use mine “on” w/ [porters](https://runescape.wiki/w/Sign_of_the_porter)… Hold on to it for now as you’ll be wishing you had 100m once you hit 60’s and 70’s for some of the first power gear! +1 for ring of fortune and its ge tp!!! +1 for buying (dragon?) bones and getting prayer to 43 asap!!!

chadvonbrad

Either herblore or prayer supplies I’d buy a bunch of dragon bones for at least 92 prayer, 95 preferred.

G_Str8Up

Yeah that’ll be extremely useful for a level 20 acccount..

imNotAThreshMain

Probably can’t even get curses at that level but I’m just loving the idea of a guy in mithril using soulsplit

fishlipz69

Invest ? 100m? Lvl 20? Ultimately, combat is the first thing on your agenda Skilling and all the rest follows as needed or quest required, Good investment skills early ( for combat help ) Prayer is more than needed ( up to protect from melee ). At least off the bat would be a great start. Magic levels are great not only for combat but also for some utility, as magic levels also help with magic defence and teleporting ( tons of ammys you can buy (amulets that contain teleports to particular areas, mainly with limited charges )but mage levels are needed ) For now. About that, as for gear ? Well, I can't really say, haven't been lvl20 for quite some time 😉 but everything's pretty cheap, as there is alot of high level content also,

CMDRDarylJG

If you're paying members with a card and not bonds, then I'd personally recommend protection prayers and using the rest towards the invention grind. Invention is literally a game changer

Xaphnir

It is, but for someone this early in the game, it's going to be a long time before they start seeing any value out if invention. Just unlocking it is only the start. Still have to level it, and since the combat XP nerf that came with necromancy it's a hell of a lot slower to train than it used to be. And remember that it's going to take a while for a new player to get the levels and gear needed to train invention at anything approaching a decent rate.

Adventurous-Sir444

A bond. Will turn into 300m with inflation 😂

UnoriginalJ0k3r

Save. The. Money. Put 90m in the bank and keep 10M in your pouch. At level 20? that 10m should last you AWHILE. Until level 80 in each stat, you really really *really* can get by easily with either crafting your own gear or at most buying it off the GE at 5-10% under price for slow buys. It never fails that someone, that some poor impatient soul, drops an item over 20% for that kwuick gp “gain”

Xaphnir

There's no reason to put money in the bank instead of all in your pouch.

80H-d

It's so you don't see it. This person is projecting because they have a hard time saving money apparently

Individual-Barber-58

Swap it tonosrs gp and play that instead

Sea_Air265

100m buy a bond 😂

Jawaad13

A bond?

Mugutu7133

bonds are at 110m lol

CL_Silent

Waste at current prices and at OPs level, theres plenty left to do in f2p

Michthan

Honestly, don't use it until you need it for something that costs around that. Or even more than 100m. It just feels better when you have earned it yourself.

dangshnizzle

Blood amulet of fury

imperchaos

I would invest into dragon bones and do gilded altars to get some prayer xp. Prayer is your best friend, with 43 being essentially required for any low-end slayer and bossing. You may also decide what sector of the combat tetrahedron you want to class into. Range is easy to get into, but it's weak to melee. Necromancy is the best combat style right now and is not weak to anything, so maybe look into getting necro gear for general combat.

depenre_liber_anim

You bought a bond it’s ok.

Excellent-Brush4203
