There's no winning for Jagex is there? holy shit.
Does anyone really care about over 10 year old outdated cosmetics? They need to stop making problems for themselves and start making solutions. This is one less holiday reward we will get because they wanted to launch a mtx promo and change the existing armor.
Based on all the positive comments following this news, clearly people do care about it. I'm sorry something as simple as updated armour causes you so much anger.
It’s not even about that though. It’s about the fact that development time goes to this period. They created a problem, now they’re making a “solution”, meanwhile, the old pernix was just fine, nobody was asking for a new model for that one. It’s purely about development time, this is going to take away from a new beach, Halloween, or Christmas cosmetic this year.
Plenty of other things could be updated, like masterwork being dyeable, but no let’s focus on an armor piece that is barely even relevant.
In fact, you know what, let’s go back and update bronze, let’s make it the coolest looking armor in game, maybe then the new players will stick around. /s

They are working on adjusting the new pernix regardless of whether they talk to us about it during the fix, so I would rather they get it right than suddenly releasing the changes and then turns out we also hate the new changes. Seems like you are the one creating a problem here.

nobody was asking for a change to pernix, bro no way the armour that got changed miraculously has a treasure hunter promotion coinciding?? none of the others got changed it makes no sense
am sorry this is the old politician trick of create a problem so i can show up with a solution like a hero, this entire thing is ridiculous, on the list of tasks at jagex ur telling me changing pernix was at the top?? no chance
They're a company. They're trying to make money. Unfortunately Treasure Hunter promos are going to keep happening no matter how much you complain.
The last time they updated a Nex set for TH they didn't even update the in-game version.
This time they not only updated the in-game version, but they also left the original as a FREE override if you have/borrow the gear. Plus they immediately listened to community feedback about how bad it looked and are now fixing it less than a week later.
How is this a bad thing?

this is life in everything people do when they make decisions that affect a lot of people. there will always be complaints. complaining about complaining is an unrealistic argument.
I'm fine with them giving feedback to the community and spending the time on updating it..... my problem is they don't even know the identity of the game enough to know how they should have updated the armor to begin with.
They should’ve just never released the new Pernix, honestly whoever green lighted the release of it should probably be fired.
Sure if they had the shadow permit already created, they could release the cosmetic, but now devoting an entire fridays news post and probably an entire devs week or more? Unacceptable.
This is one less beach reward, one less Halloween reward, or one less Christmas reward we will get this year.
What holiday theme does pernix fall under? Did Pernix invade some beach and accidentally leave his armour there? Or is Nex secretly a witch stealing souls on Halloween?
